  1. They traded up to get him, so McD probably did more than just sign off on him. But hey, they gave him plenty of chances and he worked hard but it just didn't work out.
  2. I dunno man, they are 3-2 coming off a win against the vaunted Bears D with a bunch of nobodies at WR.
  3. This is 4-D chess happening right before your eyes.
  4. Lol. Baker still isn't going to get half the flack from the media as Allen after this game.
  5. Takes two to tango. Report was that Zay was on the block all offseason.
  6. LOL. If we can flip this pick for Diggs than Beane really is a witch.
  7. Don't count out Pat DiMarco!
  8. Brieda racking up points on my bench!
  9. Well, it's not nothing. Good luck to Zay. Hope the change of scenery does him well.
  10. I get that he's a polarizing personality but man I love seeing him come back from that achilles injury and dominate at such a difficult position.
  11. Same. They entered the season with hype and a certain cockiness that I don't like and feels undeserved. Nice! I gotta get my double screen going.
  12. Yikes. Let's see how the Sabres respond to this poor start.
  13. Definitely worth considering upcoming extensions, even those beyond next year. Have to imagine their core guys will be given extensions (Tre, Milano, Dawkins, Poyer all up in 2021). We have some flexibility with Tre's fifth-year option, as well as Allen and Edmunds the year after, but the wise move would be to work on an extension after year three if you believe they are a big part of your future - for instance Wentz got extended after his third season. I think Beane is keeping long-term signings to a minimum in anticipation of these. I think if Zo has another year in him (he is still playing at a fairly high level), I can see another year extension. Kevin Johnson is good depth and I'd like to retain him as well. I haven't noticed much of Mo Alexander, but if he's doing his part on ST I'm sure he can be retained on the cheap, but also just as easily replaced. Would like to extend Spain, Phillips and Shaq. If any of them get overpaid to leave, I think we can reasonably move on from them and would expect them to look for more OL and DE prospects in the draft. DE is the more pressing need, but we have to consider Ty, Long and Feliciano are also on short contracts. As far as the RFAs go, Foster and Wallace are no question tenders. I would think McKenzie and Marlowe stick around too.
  14. But aren't you concerned about the hang time on the jet sweep??
  15. What's interesting, though, is that our team does seem to be able to put up points "when they have to." Behind 16-0 at the Jets, get 17 points; get down early against the Giants, get ahead of the Giants; Giants get within a touchdown of tying us, we go right back down the field and make it a two-TD game; surrender a late lead to the Bengals, go back and win the game, etc. Hell, we nearly did it against the Patriots, but you can't win 'em all. The defense is built in such a way that I don't really think we're going to have "put up crazy points" to get back in the game. But our offense has shown that, despite whatever errors occur in the first three quarters, they're going to put together a drive or two in the fourth.
  16. Do you mean Sean McVay?
  17. Agreed, think that is a standard play. Doesn't look like he's going right at the kneecaps or intending to injure either.
  18. I think they will once Singletary comes back, but I also think they are giving Allen every opportunity to run the offense, take his lumps and (hopefully) grow every week. Our OL is shaky at times, but they play with a mean streak. And of course, Lee Smith and Knox and mean mofos themselves.
  19. We're on a thread talking about a bunch of injured players, and people are proposing cutting our depth? What is this madness? This may be the best team defense we have ever put on a field. Everyone is contributing something and everyone seems ready to step into a bigger role if need be. Why would we cut one of them, theoretically for someone that hasn't practiced for us?
  20. I said it in another thread and I'll say it again: I can't believe we only signed him for the one year. We are going to have to pony up a lot more at this rate. But hey, maybe that's what he and his agent were looking for. He seems fully committed to the city and team and I hope we can keep him around.
  21. Indeed. He is hobbled too. Definitely a factor.
  22. Why is everyone surprised the Colts are playing them tough? They were good last year and Brissett is a decent QB especially in Reich's system with a rock solid OL.
  23. Eh, let's just worry about continuing to win our own games. That's all we can do. I'm not worried right now.
  24. AFC is a mixed bag for sure. But let's not act like Brady is really playing well this year. He has gotten some stats against really bad teams, but has also had a lot of awful throws as well. Obviously we hope the Pats don't get as far as the Super Bowl, but if they do I think the Saints can beat them (and would have last year if they made it).
  25. Do we all agree that going for it there was a bad call? All three timeouts and now the Colts can get a field goal to make it a two-score game.
