TNF always features lame divisional games.

Yeah. At this point I'd like Houston to just take charge in that division because none of the other teams are going to compete for a wild card. A Denver loss should help our cause, as I think Denver, KC and Oakland will all be in the race. New England losses are always welcome.

Geno was 2-8 for 5 yards and 3 INTs before being benched in the first quarter. EJ may have hurt us, but he also got them back to a lead by the end of the game. Even if his mistakes were ultimately the reason they lost, he fought back and threw some beautiful balls in the process. Granted, we didn't see what Geno could do after digging his hole, but something about his demeanor and attitude suggests to me that he's not capable of firing back.

So who gets cut? Bush has to stay now because of the depleted RB and WR corps. Our OTs keep showing up on the injury report so I don't know if they'll cut Ola.

The NFL has no rules regarding demotion of a coach, but I think most coaches get fired because they are part of the problem and retaining them would continue to hold the team back. I mean, if the argument here is that Roman is a good designer of plays, and that's all we need from him, well then we don't need him anymore because we have the playbook. And we're not even using half of it yet. But it is a similar issue as far as guaranteed contracts go with players, coaches just aren't subject to any sort of cap. I think it would make more sense for the contracts not to be guaranteed, but to have some sort of severence pay since a coach fired midseason could not easily find a gig until the start of the next season.

Power rankings are fairly short-sighted. How are we playing right now? I think we are playing like a top 10 team and riding a 4 game win streak is going to give us some clout in the polls, regardless of who we beat.

I trust Whaley & co. To make the right choice with Gilmore. He's a good player, but not a game changer worthy of top dollar, but who of all the players we have cut or let walk in free agency in past few years have gone on to become real studs elsewhere? I can't think of one guy. Our biggest names to leave have been Mario, Byrd and Spiller and they have been busts, Levitre has been serviceable but did get cut from his initial contract (and the FO did not have an adequate replacement at the time either, granted). But I feel like the staff knows which guys are worth the $$ (Glenn, Dareus, Hughes).

Well, we got away with a face mask, but later called for a questionable face mask, and Hughes was held all day. But it didn't stop us from routing them, fortunately.

Wouldn't say he laid an egg today. Still a bad loss for a team that was supposed to contend.

Poor Hughes got held all game. He deserved a sack or two.
