  1. Been practicing with the 2s all week. Hope he looks good out there!
  2. Don't put the starters at too much risk please! Keep Shady out again!
  3. How about that!
  4. Have work tonight Hope to hear good reports for the tackles and Peterman.
  5. No way man! I think he's gonna have a great year!
  6. They did... his name is Anquan Boldin.
  7. Don't understand some of these projections. The 3-QB scenario is a possibility if Peterman flops these next couple week, but Rashad Ross and Dez Lewis over Philly Brown and Rod Streater? What has Ross shown thus far? I saw plenty of targets to Brown last week and I think he's the better player. I guess in this scenario they don't think Powell comes back and I think they will keep him and he serves as backup KR/PR. Streater has been a camp beast and is also a great gunner. UPDATE: Ross has already been cut. The depth guys I'm sure can be debated on defense, but Rehkow was a surprising projection because by all accounts Schmidt has been great this camp. I do see the possibility of keeping him because he is a great prospect and emergency kicker. Plus we have him on the cheap for three years. Something to watch, I suppose. This projection also foregoes the comp pick by only cutting two of the necessary players.
  8. And he ain't no Deonte Thompson!
  9. Agreed about OT. Cutting Cyrus looks like a mistake right now. They had better hope Cordy can make it through the season or both Mills and Dawkins have to step up big time. I've seen enough of Seantrel looking OK in camp and flopping in games not to trust him as a starter at this point (as much as I respect his dedication to getting his weight right and fighting through Crohn's). I'm kind of hoping Brandon Albert just retired to get away from Marrone and might be willing to sign on with us if Cordy can't go. Still remaining hopeful about Cordy. As far as Holmes goes, you'll see I've labeled him as a cut after week 4. As far as we know, that's good enough to still pick up that comp pick.
  10. I guess if he's really given up on his track career then this is no big deal whatsoever. Although it's a little rude that he played through his entire rookie deal with us before finally committing to football!
  11. Yeah, my line of thinking is that Holmes is a valuable gunner to have on hand at minimum. And we have four games to play before Walt comes back so might as well take the more talented Holmes instead of, say, Rashad Ross or whoever else might be used strictly for teams work. You're saying we would make a play for Ryan Mathews at Holmes' expense? EDIT: realized you're talking about Jordan Matthews. I think Matthews' availability week 1 means little regarding Holmes. Again, mostly due to his value on special teams. Rambo and the safeties were tough to call. Gary and Rambo are the clear 3 & 4 with Anderson on board exclusively for teams. I wouldn't be surprised if Rambo starts on the 53 and is cut later on, but I'm not projecting the roster based on other teams' cuts or midseason performance, of course.
  12. I just posted this is another thread, thought I'd share: QB (2) - Tyrod Taylor, Nathan Peterman RB (3) - LeSean McCoy, Jonathan Williams, Mike Tolbert FB (1) - Patrick DeMarco WR (7) - Anquan Boldin, Zay Jones, Jordan Mattews, Andre Holmes, Corey Brown, Rod Streater, Brandon Tate TE (3) - Charles Clay, Nick O'Leary, Logan Thomas OT (3) - Cordy Glenn, Jordan Mills, Dion Dawkins OG (4) - Richie Incognito, John Miller, Michael Ola, Jordan Mudge C (2) - Eric Wood, Ryan Groy DE (4) - Shaq Lawson, Jerry Hughes, Eddie Yarbrough, Max Valles DT (4) - Kyle Williams, Marcel Dareus, Adolphus Washington, Jerel Worthy LB (7) - Preston Brown, Lorenzo Alexander, Ramon Humber, Gerald Hodges, Reggie Ragland, Tanner Vallejo, Matt Milano CB (5) - Tre'Davious White, EJ Gaines, Kevon Seymour, Leonard Johnson, Shareece Wright S (5) - Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Shamiel Gary, Bacarri Rambo, Colt Anderson K (1) - Steven Hauschka P (1) - Colton Schmidt LS (1) - Reid Ferguson Suspended - Seantrel Henderson, Walter Powell When Seantrel and Walt return, I would cut Mudge and Holmes. We'd have cut Davis, Ducasse and Holmes for the 3rd round comp pick. Think Tate has the KR and PR job outright and he will suit up mostly for that purpose, which is why I have 7 WRs on the roster. Don't think they will keep on Banyard or any of those other RBs. From the first preseason game it was clear they intend to use Tolbert as a RB and he looked good.
  13. Who do you think Marrone hates more: EJ or Bortles?
  14. I'll take a crack. QB (2) - Tyrod Taylor, Nathan Peterman RB (3) - LeSean McCoy, Jonathan Williams, Mike Tolbert FB (1) - Patrick DeMarco WR (7) - Anquan Boldin, Zay Jones, Jordan Mattews, Andre Holmes, Corey Brown, Rod Streater, Brandon Tate TE (3) - Charles Clay, Nick O'Leary, Logan Thomas OT (3) - Cordy Glenn, Jordan Mills, Dion Dawkins OG (4) - Richie Incognito, John Miller, Michael Ola, Jordan Mudge C (2) - Eric Wood, Ryan Groy DE (4) - Shaq Lawson, Jerry Hughes, Eddie Yarbrough, Max Valles DT (4) - Kyle Williams, Marcel Dareus, Adolphus Washington, Jerel Worthy LB (7) - Preston Brown, Lorenzo Alexander, Ramon Humber, Gerald Hodges, Reggie Ragland, Tanner Vallejo, Matt Milano CB (5) - Tre'Davious White, EJ Gaines, Kevon Seymour, Leonard Johnson, Shareece Wright S (5) - Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Shamiel Gary, Bacarri Rambo, Colt Anderson K (1) - Steven Hauschka P (1) - Colton Schmidt LS (1) - Reid Ferguson Suspended - Seantrel Henderson, Walter Powell When Seantrel and Walt return, I would cut Mudge and Holmes. 15. The stuff about Shady illustrates, at least in part, why trading Sammy does not mean we are tanking. I believe full that the offense goes through Shady first and foremost and I'm sure he showed as much in camp. I still think we are fielding a good team this year. As far as LVPs go, Yates is a guy a lot of us (especially Kirby) really didn't want to see on the 53 and thankfully Natey P is helping out there. Would much rather carry two guys. Realistically we can cut Yates and he'll be there to re-sign if, heaven forbid, TT goes down and we need him as a backup. Ducasse is a guy whose signing still puzzles me and I hope to see him gone as well. Ragland underperforming is the only disappointment of the bunch, but the book isn't written on him just yet. Would like to see him make progress in the final three games because for all the questions going into this year at LB, next year is going to be even more... questionable? Preston is on the last year of his deal and Hodges is on a one-year deal. Depending on their performances we could see one or both extended, but it would help us out if Reggie could fill at least the backup role next year. Ha, I mentioned you in my post only to find you quickly came through to post about it yourself. Truly I think those were only hot takes in how angry you were at the thought of Yates being on the roster come September, but your reasoning was entirely sound. We just needed Peterman to show something on the field and he's doing just that!
  16. Boo boo kitty is a board joke. Obviously I would die out there and I have never once pretended to be tough myself, but that doesn't even matter!
  17. Now he just needs to get back in shape!
  18. But wait... isn't that what we're all about now?
  19. I'm sure Beane mentioned some trade possibilities throughout the off-season and McD was aware that Sammy could be traded, but I believe that Brand didn't really get into specifics with him and the Pegulas until after the game. Namely the parameters as well as the coinciding Darby trade. So it's it's not a lie, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
  20. I read that earlier, but don't think Peter King knows absolutely everything going on behind the scenes. He could very well be right, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that he's wrong. We've had board insiders bring information to light before that ended up being true so I always leave it open-ended until concrete evidence is available.
  21. I think it depends on if the locker room cancer claim is true or not. The players on this team last year know first hand how they played better as a team without Sammy, too. But maybe Sammy was well-liked and the offense was gelling and all of a sudden that got blown up and they are frustrated.
