I wasn't suggesting JV should have declined the gig, or that he sucks...I don't think he sucks. And I have no problem with him playing rhythm guitar on that stage (yes my initial reaction was a bit of hyperbole). But I don't think he belongs on the front row, with his name listed among the headliners. Of course, since he is SRV's brother and has had a good career, I understand why he is in that front row. If JV is like the Jim Belushi of blues guitarists. Consider my remark more observation than criticism. And I wouldn't exactly call Clapton a shredder, at least not a blues shredder (a la Roy Buchanan). But he is a legit blues guitarist. BB and Buddy are outstanding blues guitarists, IMO. They may not be speed demons, but every note they play oozes the blues.

Nice version, but Jimmy Vaughn doesn't really belong on this stage, IMO.

Any wine suggestions? (semi-LAMP)
The Dean replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Pete is looking to go to a NYS (Finger Lakes) winery. I don't think he's going to find any of this being made at a local winery. -
Laundry starch: http://www.rosebrand.com/product14/Argo-St...amp;info=Primer I mostly sent my shirts out to be done (light starch) but sometimes would use spray starch at home (cuffs and collars only). Rowenta still makes great irons. http://www.rowentausa.com/rowenta/frame.aspx

I wish I could be of more help here. I don't know the wineries on your side of the Finger Lakes too well. Maybe The Senator can be of some help here. But here is an interactive map of FL wineries: http://www.fingerlakeswine.com/apps/pbcs.d...LS0903/70525012 Just move the map until you get your area in view, and then check out the offerings. Maybe a cruise where you can taste at more than one winery would be the way to go. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a report next week. BTW, Happy Fuc#ing Birthday! -
You're incontinent? Maybe you are Chef's Dad.

Gaither - How many wins is he worth?
The Dean replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None. The Bills aren't interested in him anymore. That's what I hear anyway. -
Except for when it was hot and humid, I really didn't mind wearing a suit to work as it really made it easier picking out clothes in the morning...just put on the uniform, so to speak. But back then I rarely wore a suit outside of work. Wearing one all day was enough. Most of my suits then were decent, but nothing too high end, for the most part. Then, when I didn't wear suits to work much, I liked getting dressed in a really nice suit on occasion. At this stage, I bought mostly very nice suits. Now in FLA I wear shorts almost every day and I'm way too fat to fit into any of my suits. I hope to drop a few pounds so I can wear the largest suits I own on occasion. Now getting "dressed up" constitutes a sport coat and khaki pants. Doesn't really cut it, IMO. I have always sort of like the coat and tie with jeans look for a night out, though.

I'm a tie between John Lennon and Ringo Starr. Nice. But to be truthful, "None of the Above" would have been my preferred answer for most of the questions

I had to buy a dress shirt at Brooks Brothers in NYC...it was kind of an emergency. I paid double what I was used to paying and it was the worst dress shirt I ever owned. The collar frayed after one or two wearings.

Banks has decent stuff, from my experience. My only real issue is they typically didn't carry a lot in short sizes, or my preferred style which tended toward a more Italian cut. But they (or at least had) have pretty good quality. I sometimes shopped at Men's Wearhouse for value, or if I was in a hurry to get something right away. Their prices are usually very decent, the quality varies by product, but they will tailor the stuff extremely fast if you need it. One of my favorite shops, for value, quality and style is Malibu Clothes in Beverly Hills. Now way back when, it was on the second floor of a warehouse and you had to kind of know it was there. I think it may have expanded into a real store, but I'm not sure. Top notch stuff and very good prices. Another great place was on Elmwood Ave in Buffalo. Good stuff at great prices. The owner sat at his desk on the second floor and would call out your size as you entered. He was usually right on the money. Can't remember the name, and I'm not sure if it is still in business. Also I remember I used to go to Tip Top Tailors in Toronto for suits, way back in the 80's. The US dollar was very strong then and Ontario would even refund the tax you paid. As Toronto had a lot of Asians and shorter ethnic types, they had a huge selection in short sizes. It was worth the trip to TO when I lived in Boston, where they never heard of a 42 Short. I remembered the name of the place in Buffalo. It is Get Dressed. Looks like it is still there: http://www.getdressedbuffalo.com/

Me too. I also find both of them terribly overrated and think they both waste the bit of talent they have.

She didn't even have the decency to give the kid a drink with that butt. -
Does anyone else hate how Yolanda Vega says her name?
The Dean replied to ACor58's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Well, if the way one pronounces their own name is a criterion you would use to fire someone, I guess it's a good thing you aren't Governor. -
Great story. Thanks for the link. But I didn't need tissues. Frankly I'd be appalled at someone masturbating while watching that.

Filet Mignon is tenderloin. Other steaks can also be cut from the whole tenderloin, but Filet Mignon is certainly one of them. Actually, you get a strip and tenderloin (not ribeye) on a T-Bone or Porterhouse steak. Ribeye is from a different part of the cow.

84? What a crock. I'll be lucky to make it to football season.

RIP, Lena.

The Italian chicks dig it.

Both are good, at least "were good". The value at House of Prime Rib was fantastic. No matter what cut you order, they come by with the stainless steel cart and cut you another piece of rib, or give you more sides, if you are still hungry. The Prime Rib has been top quality when I have been there. Harris' is really just a very good steakhouse. Maybe not "the best" but quite good.

Bills - Ravens agree on deal for Gaither?
The Dean replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that's known as a typo. Do they have a reliable source? Who knows. But I wouldn't judge the value of the report based on that typo.
