  1. Well he doesn't. But if having a daughter means being completly psycho, then maybe no one should have a daughter. And the fact that a law enforcement officer would suggest having a daughter is an excuse for a heinous unlawful act makes me wonder if that person should be in a position of authority.
  2. One of the big problems with many defensive players these days is the desire to make "big hits" instead of sound tackles.
  3. Why would anyone have to "be in the wrong" if the deal isn't done? Sometimes things simply aren't right for both sides. If Whitner can get big money elsewhere, and it doesn't make sense for the Bills to pay that much, why is anyone in the wrong here?
  4. Now that makes some sense.
  5. How many people actually saw this? I don't think any of my friends would know it.
  6. I don't think anyone in the NFL would agree with that. They might agree he isn't a great safety, but he is far above average, based on his versatility alone. Also, no average defensive players make as many tackles as Whitner. It simply can't happen.
  7. Tackles are almost never "meaningless". Without a tackle the opposing player scores a TD.
  8. Shula. SQUISH THE FISH!
  9. Agreed. I'm still happy to be a Bills fan, though.
  10. Ding, fries are done!
  11. Unlike moronic fans, I doubt Donte's teammates care one bit about his tweets and what he talks about outside of the locker room and on the field. With that said, I think players (and anyone for that matter) are stupid to tweet every thought that passes through their heads.
  12. No I am not happy with this Buffalo Bills poll.
  13. Just for the hell of it I Googled "Sam Bush cheesy" (without the quotes). It looks like "cheesy" is a very popular way to describe Sam and/or his music.
  14. Hey, I'm not advocating letting Whitner walk. I'm just being realistic here. But the Bills may have to pay a very high 1st round draft pick (or perhaps TWO first rounders if they make a trade) next year. They also need to extend Pos and maybe some others. As for Ralph pocketing the money, do the Bills spend less money on player salary year after year? Do they get further from the cap every year? If so, your charge against Ralph may hold water. If not, then it just sounds like sour grapes.
  15. Yes, there is probably a hole in his game, as would be expected for a young inexperienced player. Most coaches like experience, and tend to bring back players that know the system...especially mid-season. I think Bell will get a real shot with a team next year.
  16. The FA market is an interesting thing. Players don't get paid simply on their worth compared to others at the same position. Their pay is also based on the need of the team signing the player and the number of good players available at the position. Furthermore, you really can't compare the contract of a player who is 2-3 years into a contract to one signing a contract today. As player salaries tend to raise every year, a "lesser" player might make as much as a premier player who is under contract...but not as much as if that premier player was signing a brand new contract. Whitner is not a premier safety. At least he hasn't been for the Bills for various reasons (I would argue some of those reasons were out of his control...but whatever). But if he were to play on the Raven's D, I think you would see a much different player. Remember the difference in Jim Leonhard's game after going to the Ravens (and now the Jets)? I think there will be teams who believe if Whitner is given the opportunity to play with abandon, he will thrive. I almost guarantee he will be paid more by another team than by the Bills. For years Whitner was indispensable to the Bills because of his versatility. That same versatility has probably hurt his stats and his reputation among Bills fans. But I'm not sure that versatility is as important to the Bills defense anymore. They have a fairly credible defensive backfield with some depth. The Bills should offer Whitner a contract well below what a top safety would command at this time, but above the "average" starting safety, IMO. He probably make something closer to elite pay somewhere else.
  17. I'd agree with that.
  18. Why would a song in the background w/lyrics, at the same time dialogue is occurring in the scene be a good thing? It is superfluous and distracting. Not to mention uber cheesy.
  19. As you say, he hasn't been outplayed by the other safeties. He is #2 on the team in tackles (116 so far). While that's not the only stat I'd use to judge a defensive player, no bad players have that many tackles at this stage of the season. Whether or not he lived up to his draft pick is fairly irrelevant, at this date, when it comes to keeping him or letting him go.
  20. OK, that one is true.
  21. Dunno that song, but it sounds pretty bad. Interestingly enough, there is a new hip-hop Christmas song used for a current Target ad that is fairly amusing. It is Toy Jackpot by the fabulously named Blackalicious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSyWYD8a-kk
  22. What's with the cheesy background music?
  23. Every silver cloud has a dark lining. All you have to do is look for nothing but that darkness.
  24. I'll take Hannah Storm over Hannah Montana any day. But I'll take Sage Steele over both of them.
  25. Pretty obvious to anyone not looking to bash the Bills, I think.
