  1. I do. And the PR dept doesn't tell the boss what to do. They make recommendations.
  2. Again, not a positive play. What happens here?
  3. I'll still take it over just about any macro out there.
  4. I've only been to Seattle once. Went to a Bills game there and stayed a few days. I have never had worse service in any city--and it's pretty bad down here, so that's saying something. In general, the people we met were dull and rude. To be fair, most of these people were in the service industry so it wasn't a broad spectrum of people. But service industry types should be more accommodating than the average idiot, not less so. A couple of people in my group were also from the service industry and they couldn't believe how cold and unhelpful these people were. Now, people in Boston are pretty rude and unfriendly. But you can still get good service.
  5. Not a positive play from scrimmage. So what happens here?
  6. What are you waiting for? Many here are actually panicking for next year already. You know. beat the rush.
  7. Is that Mr, Weo's beer? Loved the shot and sweet reasoning for Labatt and the Bills. While the write-up for Indianapolis was terrible, I love Three Floyds brews.
  8. I'm not sure what you said, and didn't say, about the incident previously. If this is the same incident discussed last week, it was reported that Marrone and Whaley were arguing. Many here assumed Doug was mad at Doug (or was Doug mad at Doug?) Type "doug" enough and it really starts to look like a nonsense word. But I digress. Most of the speculators believe the issue surrounded EJ/QB position in general. Well if what we are hearing is true (and it seems as though there is still some confusion as to what we are hearing) Marrone's issue wasn't really with Whaley, it was with Monos. And Whaley, or Brandon, stepped in to calm the boys down---that's when Marrone yelled at Whaley---or was it Brandon. My favorite quote in the LaCanfora story is that Marrone made remarks "along the lines of 'go ahead and fire me'" . Along those lines. But of course, Wawrow claims that was not what he said. I tend to believe JW when reports differ. So, Doug and Doug weren't really arguing, except for Whaley (and Brandon?) trying to break up an argument between Marrone and Monos? Is this serious? Maybe. I suppose screaming in front of everyone probably isn't a good thing. (Though I can tell you in Hollywood it is par for the course.) But if the real issue is between Marrone and Monos, I don't think it's all that serious. If it's something bigger, then perhaps it is.
  9. I agree with the first statement (in bold). I can't agree or disagree with the next as NONE of us know what Wahley tried to do (unless you two are close and exchange emails or something). It seems clear now that Whaley has been courting Orton for some time. He certainly may have looked to sign others. We don't know. What we know is, he didn't get one until last week. I can't judge if made the right call by not signing someone earlier, as I don't know who was actually interested in coming to the Bills. What trades were discussed, etc. I would have preferred getting a vet backup earlier than last week. But not just any vet backup--any vet, just to say he did it. And I would have hated trading away anything too valuable for one, knowing that one is always available right before the season starts. Knowing that EJ was starting the season as the #1 QB, and will likely be given enough time to demonstrate what he can/can't do, the backup isn't likely to contribute in any meaningful way for awhile. Unless EJ gets injured. Had EJ been injured in preseason, this could have been a big deal. And, if EJ goes down very early in the season (first couple weeks, or so) it still may. But it looks as though the Bills may dodge the bullet on this one. Calculated risk? Or just nobody worth signing/trading for? Dunno.
  10. Perhaps I'm missing something here. I believe I understand what positive is. Any yardage beyond the original LOS. And in the event of a sack, you will use the second play from scrimmage. So far I'm pretty clear on the concept, I think. But what happens if the 1st play results in no yardage: That is, not a sack and no positive yardage? Nobody wins? Everybody wins? See my confusion?
  11. Still unclear on what happens in the event of an incomplete pass or a run for no gain.
  12. Yup. Great news for sure. Still have to pay attention to it, I suppose.
  13. Not that! I'd rather have a phlebottle in front of me than a frontal phlebotomy.
  14. Still too hot for me, if I had to wear a suit to work---or work outside (or work outside, in a suit!). I don't know what I'd do here in Florida if that were the case.
  15. Oh, I think the Cole report is pure conjecture and likely nonsense. Just look at the report. Claims Marrone "was told by several players/staffers...at the end of 2013". Had Cole gotten this information when it was fresh, he would have reported it then, right? In fact it should have been "widely reported" at the end of the year, if there were any substance to it. But furthermore, how does Cole get information about "several players/staffers"? Surely Marrone could have been a source, as he would have knowledge of the various players/staffers he speaks with. Do you think he got this information from Marrone? Perhaps those players/staffers came to Marrone as a unit (at the same time). But then I would have expected that to leak quickly and wide, had that information been available close to the event. I have no idea where Cole got the information, as he doesn't even cite the unnamed "source with close ties to the Bills" (for example). A rumor he heard "in the wind", perhaps. Hear it enough times and it must be true, right? Former coach, player? Perhaps, but then again one needs to take a source like that with a grain of salt---and source it as such "former Bills employee". An irresponsible Tweet, as is, I think.
  16. For what it's worth, I've only seen this reported by Cole, and the Cole report cited a few times. I don't believe it has been "widely reported".
  17. Missing a link, Tre?
  18. I'm 57. Been a Bills fan since I can remember. Season tickets in 1966 (won a Topps raffle). Been through a lot with this team. Wouldn't trade if for anything,
  19. A terrible draft to be sure. But Marve played a little. And Anderson tanked (I believe on purpose) and was cut. He went to Pittsburgh, where he wanted to be, and became one of the best FG kickers of all time.
  20. Excellent point. But I still pass.
  21. I've said this before,L I don't really think Florio is all that great with his analysis (though he is really good with the legal stuff).
  22. You blew it dude. Rachel was one hot babe. Even went to 1st base on the first date, if the rumors are true. You really couldda been somebody! Yes that was one crappy draft and Butler's FU to the Bills, I think. But it's been too many years for it to be an issue with the current team.
  23. \ That's a bit too extreme for me. I can appreciate an attractive-ish older woman .But i draw the line at "doing her".
  24. So one druggie screws it up for the rest of us?
