  1. I'm not sure who KtG is, but I'm The Dean. Not exactly sure what you are referring to. But Trent was fairly accurate early in his career. Up until his injury I recall he was accurate on short and medium routes, and decent on deep passes. Once he came back from the injury, it was clear, over time, he was very reluctant to pass to WRs unless, and until, they were totally wide open. The combination of his loss of confidence post injury, plus poor offensive line play (not to mention some bad play calling), led to his being a rather impotent QB. If there is something more, than I'm not certain what it is. But have I been wrong about players in the past? Of course. Who, being honest, hasn't? BTW, one of the problems I see a bit with EJ is his reluctance to throw to guys before they are open. I think he may be able to overcome that as he gets comfortable with his WRs. I'm nowhere near positive that will happen but I am wiling to give him a shot.
  2. Let me pile on here, and agree a bit. The_Dude appeared bragging about getting kicked off another forum (probably not the best idea) and his initial posts suggested a bull in a china shop mentality. BUT as he has posted more, and began to clarify his stance....and clearly states them as opinions, he has revealed some intelligence his earlier posts did a good job of disguising.
  3. Project isn't the right term, I agree. But he wasn't seen, perhaps, as polished and NFL ready as some coming out of college--but he was seen to have a very big upside by many. In a perfect world, the Bills would have had him sit behind a veteran QB for a season (or even half-season), But that vet never made it to the field. So in he went. Now he's the guy. At this point, pulling him isn't the answer, most likely. He's had some time to mature, learn the playbook and we'll see what he's got. I just hope the OL gives him a shot to perform.
  4. Just wanted to say, Capaldi is a nice change from Matt Smith, who I never liked in the role. But he got a bit better when Moffett handed over the writing for some of the later episodes. Still, not my kind of doctor---and that opening with Amy? Sucked! Moffet's still a problem, but hopefully he will be less involved with the actual writing of the episodes. Wait, this isn't a Doctor Who forum? My bad. BTW, good post.
  5. Oh, Chandler is OK. Still think we should be looking for a TE.
  6. Read the post I quoted above you.
  7. I wouldn't trade CJ for a TE. But make no mistake about it, this team could use an upgrade at TE. Having a quality TE could do wonders for EJ and the team as a whole.
  8. I explicitly said I am NOT writing Mallet off. I'm don't declare players "busts" early in their careers. But in the games he played, preseason and regular season (though he hardly played in regular season...4 passes) his play was demonstrably worse than EJs has been. BTW, I don't believe EJ sucked last year, but he needs to improve, that's for sure. There were games where he sucked and some where he flashed some real quality. The team sucked. Give the guy an honest chance, hopefully behind a decent line, and now with a decent core of WRs, before writing him off. What makes you think Mallett is going to be better than EJ,. Clearly is isn't based on his play. Is it based on that you liked him coming out of college? (I'm guessing here, I don't remember).
  9. The thing is, the some who are convinced that EJ is dumpster trash based on his play to date, think Mallett could be good, Based on what? His play has been horrible---way worse than EJs. I don't think anyone should be written off this early in their career. But many seem to do that only for Bills players.
  10. Bad pick, Did nothing for them and his value depreciated to near nothing, Then again, getting something for him was better than getting nothing, I just find it funny that some well known Bills bashers are calling this a smart move by Belicheat. Had this been the Bills, it would be termed a wasted pick for whom they received terrible value.
  11. Grossman's now available, And here the Bills went and paid Orton all that money,
  12. So the Pats* trading their 3rd round QB (to much applause from many here) end up trading him three years later for anywhere from a "conditional 7th" to at best a 6th two years from now, is a good thing. I have to think your take would be much different had the Bills made that move.
  13. While I agree, isn't this being discussed elsewhere on the board?
  14. If EJ gets yanked "early" and Orton is forced to play before he gets the work in, I think this team is doomed. The only way this team goes .500 or better, is if EJ stays healthy and performs well. If that happens for the whole season, or at least until the bye (which would give Orton enough time to get up to speed) the team has a chance.
  15. Funny nobody's ever thought of this before. So we don't beat this to death again, maybe you should just read through this thread: http://forums.twobil...-for-incognito/
  16. The info on the Bills trying to sign Orton for a while now, seems to be fairly common knowledge now. That he is expected to start, based on salary, is pure speculation.
  17. Ah, yes. I do recall that now. Thanks. I thought at first the reference was to a leaked Fitz phone call. But had I remembered the Buddy incident I would have figured it out. I liked Buddy, but he seems like the kind of guy who, if he even uses a computer, is ripe for an email scam of some sort.. Old people make good targets.
  18. Leaked phone call? Refresh my memory, please.
  19. I believe you still miss the point. Nobody is suggesting you look at stats in a vacuum. You use context to analyze them. "Not a stats guy" is one thing. But to ignore a pattern, across teams and systems, seems to be putting yourself at a disadvantage, knowledge-wise.
