  1. Hey, no risk, no reward. What you mention are the (thankfully very rare) occurrences when things to a bit too far. But those things can happen at any event attracting 70,000+ people. Some idiot shoots himself in the lot, so nobody can tailgate and drink, anymore. When that happens, the terrorists at the Buffalo Snooze win.
  2. With who? The press? I've talked to football fans all over the country. The vast majority of those who have been to the Ralph, said they LOVED the tailgate, fans and gameday experience. Most of those who hadn't been, said they heard it's just a crazy atmosphere (and they meant that in a good way). I'm not saying there haven't been some unfortunate instances, of course there have. But I believe most people who go to an NFL football game prefer a raucous fanbase (and a bit of tailgate drinking), to a bland, sterile experience.
  3. Un-fuc#ing-believable
  4. If the fish stinks, you wrap it up with the Snooze.
  5. Mmmm, sausage!
  6. I HIGHLY recommend the ingestion of psilocybin mushrooms prior to your visit. Just sayin...
  7. Weak. There is nothing about getting a damn snack in that speech.
  8. This entire thread is completely moronic, IMO. To think Tom Brady actually, at one time, had a soul. Sure. Santa Claus is real, too.
  9. After reading Polian's quote a bit more carefully, I'm inclined to give him a break, and chalk some of the confusion to "old age". http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/19/bill-polian-claims-he-had-a-very-high-draft-grade-on-tom-brady/ Yes, he says he gave Brady a "very high" grade and then there's the preposterous quote, "I remember us giving solid, first-round, can-lead-you-to-a-championship grades.” But, he sort of backs off that a bit later, "I don’t remember where we ultimately put him, but it was certainly a very high grade." And I think that's probably the bottom line. They liked Brady, gave him solid marks--probably also had some concerns, which escape his memory right now. Polian show's he's a lot like me, in his recollection: The older I get, the better I was.
  10. I was 8 years old and going to games at the Rockpile (won season tickets from Tops). And I turned out fine. Oh, wait.... No, seriously. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to take your children to a Bills' game. Don't know that you should tailgate in the stadium lot with a very young one. But there's a family sections at the Ralph. And if your kid can't handle seeing people act stupidly, or hear some foul language (perfect teaching moments, IMO), then---well, I really can't say, because I was never sheltered like that. But seriously SIXTEEN years old? Really?
  11. Exactly. I am old, but I understand the business. This is a cheap (in cost, and I believe in effort) way to make some cash while they develop material. And, they can entertain those easily entertained and/or amused (well, come to think of it, that sounds like me ). Some comics do it the hard way, by doing crappy clubs and, you know, working. This is a much easier gig. And let's face it, it's cheap, and it sounds cheap. Plus the format with this sidekick is OLD and TIRED. Like a radio shock jock. Never could stand that crap.
  12. That site is run by a Pat* fan trying to misdirect people from the Pat* may scandals. Read their reviews carefully and you will see their ratings are BS. But to the pick play issue, yes, everyone runs some pick plays. The Pats* run a LOT of them. Some of them (many?) should be flagged, and they aren't being called. The Bills would be stupid to not bring this to the ref's attentions. And the publicity this issue is getting this week, should bring some more attention on them, this week (unless of course, they have an inside cheat with the NFL).
  13. Dunno where I picked it up. Sometime in Jr High, I think. About the same time I heard Skin Flute. It's yours to use as you wish (but you can't charge anything for it).
  14. A few more things I missed in your post, that should have tipped me off to your cultural position: Huge Hit: Popularity means nothing to me, when it come to judging talent. Justin freaking Bieber is popular. Dane Cook was popular. Relevant: See above. Your posts reeks of marketing talk. Maybe soon he will "reinvent himself". Nothing infuriates me more.
  15. For years the Broncos used a blocking scheme considered not only questionably legal, but actually potentially dangerous to the opposition. What I don't remember the Broncos doing is the other, off the field stuff, the Pat's* have been accused (and caught) doing.
  16. What he said about the Bills has nothing to do with what I think about this. I think babbling on a tired format (like Stern) without properly polishing and constructing a set compromises his comic genius. I'm a culture snob, I admit this freely. And the stuff about him getting drunk after taking seventy some days off, is dead ass serious. Unless he was kidding about that. And, let's be clear. I worked in the entertainment industry for 20+ years. I have some idea what I'm talking about.
  17. Holy crap. Bill Burr is now doing a Howard Stern act? He even has his own Robin Givens. Very strange, to me. What a sad state for a great comic like this to have to do a freaking podcast of--well, just babbling. Please tell me Louis C K hasn't devolved to this. Don't get me wrong. I thought it was fairly funny. Not nearly as funny as his well constructed stand-up. Had he polished this turd up a bit, it would have been absolutely hysterical. But people listen to an hour of this disjointed ranting? Wow. I mean, if you are with him, drinking and doing a bit or ranting yourself, I'm sure it's extremely funny. But not as "professional" entertainment. He is far too talented for this kind of BS, IMO. Let me be clear, I have NO problem with him trashing Buffalo or the Bills. I think anything and everything is fair game---if it's funny. And it was funny enough. I'm more worried about the beginning of the show, when he says he hadn't had a drink for seventy some days---but got faced last night. Perhaps I'm off base here, but I think it's unlikely someone purposefully gives up ALL drinking for more that two months, unless they are concerned they have a problem. Yes, there are some exceptions for health, religious reasons, etc. But I'm getting the impression this was a "I have a problem" stoppage--or hiatus. Burr is one of my very favorite stand-up comics. I seriously hope we aren't reading about him having some serious problems in the near future.
  18. Holy crap. As Winnie the Pooh has been known to say:
  19. Honestly, I don't think running a pick play is technically "cheating" as it's done out in the open, and the refs should call it when it is illegal. Of course, if you are an influential owner, and the refs are cautioned against calling them as they see them--well, that's another story altogether. And, let's be clear, I'm not accusing the Pats* of doing that. Not at this point in time, anyway. But it isn't as if everyone pushes the limits of the rules, as much as possible, at every turn---but the Pats* clearly do. You can either admire that, or suggest it is terrible sportsmanship. It's really the other areas where the Pats* push the rules (and which aren't out in the open) that opens the organization up to accusations of cheating. The pick plays, formation games, etc, just give added credence to the claims.
  20. Wow that's a terrible story. Your son is a Pats* fan?
  21. Gayest. Thread. Ever. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  22. Damn right! Nice. Or maybe this:
  23. "Everybody does it!" I've noticed something while working in the bar business. Owners who believe "Everybody steals" tend to be guys who were thieves when they worked for someone else. "Everyone cheats" is the kind of thing cheaters honestly believe.
