  1. ??? I'm confused. It seems like most of those from Buffalo and NF are saying there were no bathing suits in the 60's and early 70's. And isn't Rochester part of WNY? What am I missing here. Anyway, even at the time I thought it was a little weird, but it wasn't THAT weird. And I actually think it might help these kids have a healthier "body image", since you see "normal" is a variety of shapes and sizes. (No, I'm not specifically talking about the junk, here. Truth is, I can't even remember anyone looking, commenting, about privates, back then.)
  2. How true. But we know the Power Ratings are ALWAYS BS. There is already a damn good system in place: The Standings.
  3. It was pretty clear, from reading the copy, the rankings hadn't been updated earlier.
  4. That's actually pretty funny. No lives? Jealous of those with more fame and money? But I'm guessing they are just plain morons.
  5. Right on the money. But don't expect it to make an impact on those who already have their minds made up. Take for example, the post below:
  6. I was watching the Bills' game.
  7. For what it's worth, I've always thought that's the way replay should be used. There are some calls that are so bad, everyone except the official on the scene, knows it was a blown call. Reverse those. If you have to look at 20 angles, super slow mo, over and over again, the call on the field should stand. IMO, of course.
  8. Actually, he missed 6 out of 35 XPs. during the regular season last year. He missed 4 out of 37 FGs, too. In the playoffs, he missed 1 out of 5 XPs and was perfect on 4 FGs. He missed 4 XPs in 2015.
  9. The thing is, you almost never see this call in the NFL, these days. The arm was coming forward, the ball went forward. Yes, it probably was a legit fumble. It's just hardly ever called that way, in the modern NFL. Glad we caught the break, this time.
  10. I think thebandit's response, and yours, probably make the most sense. I'm not making excuses for Gilmore, or suggesting he doesn't have issues. But I certainly don't remember him being a "bad guy" in Buffalo. But keep in mind, for those gloating and extremely high on T. White (as I am, as well), Gilmore had a pretty damn good rookie year, too. Come to think of it, so did Donte Whitner. (Now, I understand why fans were down on him, when he left the Bills, because he acted totally classless.) I guess I'm far more interested in celebrating our early success (though we know how that can turn), than spending any effort bashing former Bills players.
  11. Yup, Orlando Mazza. A real freak. At times, he'd make us wait in the showers for quite a long time, while he finished eating. Only then could we go into the pool. "Nobody goes into the pool until I finish my pizza!", he'd yell. His family owned Honey's Pizzeria, BTW. I think he played in the Canadian Football League, though it could have been semi-pro, somewhere. After reading a few more posts, it occurred to me you COULD opt to wear a suit, but you would be singled out and chastised. And, yes, the girls wore swim suits. Don't ask me how I know.
  12. This is my take, as well. But there is something I don't quite get. Why all the Gilmore hate? I get reveling in his failure because he plays for the Pats*, but this seems to be something more. Was he a bad guy here? Did he shame the Bills on the way out? And I'm not even talking about the posts that say "He sucked from day one with the Bills" (or things of that nature), because I just write off those comments to stupidity. But there seems to be something that is driving real hate toward him, and I can't figure out what it is. If it's just about the $$, then Bills fans should LOVE the fact he's getting it elsewhere (especially from the Pats*). Fred Smerlas s#it all over Buffalo (the city), the Bills and their fans, yet everyone seemed to love him after he left (and to this day, it seems).
  13. And, he's back. I guess the booze works both ways.
  14. it seems to me, since they changed the replay decisions to the league office, fewer plays are being overturned. Perhaps that's just my imagination, though.
  15. They can't all be winners, Dog.
  16. QB? I remember a CB by that name.
  17. I also went to North Junior, but I'm a bit older than you. We were required to swim naked. I think Mr. Getz and coach Mazza got off on it. BTW, while I wasn't a big fan of running around with a bunch of naked boys, I don't think I'd like having to pick some random school-supplied swimsuit out of a pile, either. Going to North Jr had its perks, though. After school, we'd often pop into the Ontario House for a few quick beers---in 8th grade! The owner was very old, and I don't think she could see well or had any idea how old anyone was.
  18. In this D, I don't think Marcel's contribution can be easily summed up with tackle and sack numbers. I'll be paying attention to how many reps he gets, and the effectiveness of the Falcon run game when he's in there.
  19. I thought this was about DeShortstop, for DePirates, back in DeFifties and DeSixties.
  20. I have to agree. I do like Tolbert. And is situations, he's the perfect guy. But not as the #2, down in and out, back. J Will was better, Gillislee was great, IMO. (One offseason move I simply cannot understand.) I actually think fewer (targeted) carries from Tolbert would be better for everyone. Of course, you can't be so predictable that Tolbert in the backfield indicates a particula play.
  21. You make it sound like Tyrod sleeping with his mom is a bad thing. Just sayin'
  22. Winfield. He could cover with the best NFL CB. And was one of the best tacklers in the league. He got better at catching the ball when he left the Bills.
  23. Agreed. That why I was surprised I suspected a fake. Made no sense, IMO.
