  1. Lots of blame to go around tonight. Line play, QB, coaching/scheme/playcalling... But I like the Bills uniforms better than the Jets. So there's that.
  2. No kidding. The mind boggles.
  3. Alfred E Neuman begs to differ.
  4. Indeed. Actually, I think this staff adjusts all the time
  5. Romo is very good, especially for a rookie.
  6. Walk it off. Check that. Limp it off.
  7. Thanks. I did'nt notice him on the list/
  8. Is Tate hurt? I think he returned the first punt, no?
  9. Tough break for McNair's image.
  10. What a horrible break for Watson, the Texans and the NFL. I love this kid. I cared. What makes you think you can speak for EVERYONE? I'm proud to report, so far (at least in St Augustine), I've heard no celebrating whatsoever. Perhaps they're being respectful, for a bit. Oh Christ, I despise that commercial. Or I as I call him, Pat MiGroin A little rehab for McNair's image?
  11. Yes, you'll probably miss it, but you will have another neighborhood to explore, a bit more. I'd love to be able to move back. There are a great number of neighborhoods where I think I could be very happy--you know, if I could afford to live there. I'm just happy I got to live there on two separate occasions. Enjoy it.
  12. That's great. I had a similar arrangement, albeit for only one season. My last gig, before moving to St Augustine, was in SF. My office was directly across the street from AT&T Park. You can even watch 3-innings (or more, if there is nobody waiting), for free, through an observation area, outside the stadium. Pretty cool. Grab a beer and a hot dog, or slice, walk over and watch a couple innings at lunch. Or just schedule an afternoon "meeting" and take in a few innings with a gen admin ticket. Loved it. Congrats to the Astros!!
  13. I love going to a baseball game---particularly a day game. Nice relaxing afternoon.
  14. Actually, since we can only see in 2D, it's sometimes very hard to know where the ball actually crosses the plate--at least for me. I have mixed feelings on many of these technological gimmicks, used in sporting events these days. Some, like the yellow first down line, are spectacular. Others, the glowing puck perhaps the most famous, are disasters. A good friend of mine works for a company that develops, and implements these innovations. We've talked about some things, in the works, and whether I thought they'd be useful for viewers, or annoying. One thing I remember telling her was, IMO it's your company's job to keep developing and pushing the envelope. It's the networks' job to sort out what they will, and will not, use. Way back when, I did some research for MLB, and what viewer's liked/expected from on-screen graphics/information. This was when the "Fox Box" was fairly new. Some networks wouldn't even show the score until the end of the inning. The results were kind of interesting. But I'd love to test the assorted variations the networks now use for football, baseball, etc. I think some do an incredible job of packing in a lot of useful information, in a small, relatively unobtrusive manner. Others take up a lot of space, and leave out information, I think sort of important. As to the strike zone, pitcher/batter matchup, etc Fox is using during the WS, I really like it. I could do without the MPH of the pitch. But it doesn't bother me. But I think there are many like you, who find it annoying. I never assume my opinion is the "best", in that it is the one the majority of viewers want. I guess I do miss designing, conducting and analyzing the research. I just don't miss the BS in the TV business, these days.
  15. A British Bills fan watched the games with us, most Sundays. He is also a big soccer, rugby and cricket fan. One of his little "jokes" is to ask, during the Bills games, "Why do they stop the game to have so many meetings?" All a matter of perspective, I suppose. I don't know about that. I swear I've seen American League managers sleeping through most of the game.
  16. Which is it? Do you hope he has a good rest of his life, or don't care?
  17. Hey, who's minding the Bills breaking news department, while you are goofing off watching baseball?
  18. Indeed. But say what you will about Dareus' immaturity (and there is plenty of legit criticism there), he always seemed like a "good guy" to me. I've never met him, but know several people who have---they have nothing bad to say about his interpersonal demeanor. I'm betting these are fairly close to his legitimate thoughts---but dressed up in fancier prose than Marcell probably could have put together on his own.
  19. My recollection is Alex Smith was seen as a dink & dunk, system QB, who you couldn't really win with?
  20. I think I saw his fingers crossed.
  21. I get what he's going for. That's why I said, "just sayin...". As others have pointed out, Taylor has, and can, throw into tight windows. He doesn't do it often, that's for sure. But the Bills also don't have an anticipatory passing game (I'm thinking Air Coryell as an extreme example), either. Plus, given the strengths and weaknesses of the team, the past couple years, the best way to win is to minimize turnovers---so that plays into it, too. Tyrod has been getting better at drilling it into tight coverage, when called for, lately. And he demonstrated he will do it, to some degree, if he trusts the target. So no, Tyrod isn't the game's biggest chance-taker. But to think Benjamin won't be an asset, simply because of that, is absurd. Dontcha think?
  22. I read that earlier. I think the chances Jimmy G sits out this year, is extremely far fetched. He'll be starting in two weeks, I think.
  23. Are there QBs who don't PREFER their WRs be wide open? Just sayin.
