thank you, so nothing in the Free Agency era. Also, that was the first year of coaching for both of them. They took over bad teams, that's why they were new coaches. They didn't dump all the talent to intentionally try to get top picks
Dallas traded Herschel Walker for a ton of picks

Never understood the trade Hughes talk. Would be almost as dumb as the Watkins trade.
I understand trading a player player who will be a free agent and get something instead of walking. At the same time I have trouble in trading a player who you could keep ( young age) who you would need to replace with a pick.
like with Shady...Buffalo didn’t have an heir to take his role on the team.
Twi hugh level priority picks next year is RB and WR. I think a WR can be gotten late 1st and early 2nd and RB in 3rd or 4th if they aren’t found as UFAs.

I know we could use another pass rusher....I know we need WR help
But more and more I am leaning towards taking the best LT......either in the first or second round......move Dawkins to LG.....start the rook at LT......find a free agent OG and OC....spend money there
Just keep our RB's.....improve what is in front of them
Buffalo had cap spacd to target players..based on who they sign will affect who they draft.
If buffalo picks top 5 id trade down and get additional picks to use on players they need. One player to target in 2nd or 3rd is a RB.

While this team has many problems todays game was a great example of the need for an elite interior rusher. I know many here are on the trade down train, and i hear yas, but I'm on record for not passing up an elite talent if available, which we currently have none of. Bottom line I don't pass on Oliver or Bosa if available. Snag a couple recievers and oline in free agency and keep drafting bpa. Of course i believe we need quite a bit of coaching changes as well but i don't feel like going there right now lol
You dont taje boa...you trade down and get some picks. Generally if you pick successful players they can be drafted at 5 or 25 and get the same impact.
in basketball and hockey the odds of players drafted in these spots having the same impact is near 0.
buffalo needs help at..
1. OL
2. Speed WR
3 future RB
sure you want to add depth on defense. I don’t see the need to use hi picks on it.

If buffalos defense plays like it has fir most of this season and creates 3 turnovers starting inside pats territory leading to 17 points plus 10-17 points from their own drives for 27 points.
buffalo holds patriots to FGs over RDs so they end up with 23 points.
late in game about sack and fumble return or pick 6 can get them to something like 34 or 31-23.

Because the players they inherited don’t fit their schemes?
This is true in foitball all to a limit.
the biggest area is a 3-4 or 4-3 front defense where you see a change of personnel.
This is was part of the problem in buffalos playoff drought. They kept flipping back and forth. The big example was in Gailey hiring. Had he not been nepotistic and hire his friend who was a 3-4 person and instead kept it 4-3 buffalo probably makes the playoffs because they had p,layoff defense talent.
You font don’t generally see thus in other sports when new coaches are hired.
sometimes new GM and coaches don’t keep players because they weren’t their investment so if they do well the credit won’t go to the gm.
you see this in areas of corporations that are investing in new ideas or inventions. A new manager hired changes priorities. If a new manager is hired after a scandal or disaster the new person needs to focus first on this reason which financial impacts other areas like with budget cuts or job layoffs.

I doubt it. We’lol most likely resign those getting close to a new contract like T White, then pay a couple of lineman in free agency. I have a feeling we’ll go through the draft for WR.
Draft priorities depend on march dignings.
White has 3 yrs of contract left. En has 4 left after this season so buffalo likely active to get players to try and compete before first contract players are due.

Bonus coverage must end at 425 because of DH on other network. In 2nd game on DH network the merge audience into one pool as a lead in of prime time fir everyone except west coast. If it’s a 405 game and their are two you don’t get bonus coverage.
if they switched viewers in a blowout to another game they can stay till it ends.

this is nuts....
T\You realize if they thought about QV they looked ahead at the class of 2018 in 2017 and said who might be better.
Mahommes was raw coming from a place like Texas Tech made you question if he could do pro style offense with making tight throws.
he went to the ideal situation with a well established offense.
You could debare why Buffalo didn't trade with Houston instead of KC because they would have had pick at 4 and not had to trade anything.
they would have had 4 and 12 and take the two players there without trades then still had the 2 picks in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd --thus having 3 more prospects in the system then just 1 because 3 of 4 were traded.

What I’d like to see if the first four weeks be your three division opponents and one other game. The last four weeks, also your three division opponents and another team. I think it would make things interesting when it comes down to the final weeks with how division records could suddenly change since teams haven’t played each other in two months or more.
Doing that early season in a good fivision could make a team quit if they ho 0-3 in division early

Peop,e on here just don’t get how the cap works.
whaley made the cap work by restructuring contracts and passing it onto future years...at some point thus will catch up to you so you will have to absorb dead cap space. It’s best to absorb it all in one year.

There are educated fans and uneducated fans.
The educated fans understand the financial side of things and the reasonable expectation that you don't build a super bowl winner over night.
The uneducated fans want to GIT ER DONE OBD every single season, which leads to a 7-9 record for two decades.
Thank god this franchise is finally aligned with educated fans. We all knew this season would be bad. It's only surprising to the Git Er Done crew.
where are these educated fans.....you mean the same one who say fire Beane...this teams sucks ...etc.
To design the proper team model you have to look at salary structure...
offense players paid highest....QB, WR, LOT
on Defnese DE, OLB, CB
the next 3 seasons after this one is a window of opportunity for Buffalo to try and do a short term compete by getting some goofd players before Allen is a due a new contract. assuming he is a successfule there is about $15M to spend over 3 years before he get s ahigher slary which means Buffalo can go out and get two very good players to compete.
This is similar to Seattle where they competed with Wilson on an entry contract then they lost some players when he got a new contract.
This rebuilding is also why I didn't like what Beane didin the draft.
I would have traded the two first up to TB for their 1st then gotten something like a 4th pick along with it then kept the 2 2nds and top 3rd pick they had and used them for depth players, thise 2 are better tna the 1 they got

not quite.
should have traded Tyrod last year so we didn't have to give up very valuable draft picks.
Otherwise we are right on track.
Instead they should have traded with houston and gotten 4OA from them.
they do the trade with Cincinnati then move up to 12...they pick the same players at 4 and 12 and still had their 2 2nd and first pick in the 3rd rd.
the other forgotten part of the trades of Watkins and Darby is the pkayers acquired aren’t with thus team.

2016 draft total wash and this is within 2 years
2015 draft Darby you can argue
2014 total bust
2013 total bust
2012 Gilmore and Glenn both played well
2011 Aaron Williams cut short by injury Dareus never lived up to expectations
Not a lot there to build on You can maybe argue we should have paid & kept Dareus/Gilmore/Darby/Watkins/Glenn but all have their issues or left with huge dollar deals they wont ever live up to Last decent long term draft they had was in 2009 when they got Levitre/Wood/Byrd That's pretty terrible when that is a 10 year highlight
Dont figet you had GM and coach change. Many players fit a certain type of system or are their guys.
dont evaluate players purely on your view through rise colored glasses.

hard to fix years of bad drafts Hopefully Allen is for real. Edmunds looks good, Harrison might be ok. Tre White and Dion Dawkins were good picks. They need to start hiitting on 2-3 above avg starters each draft
That at is actually a little false
how many high 1st or 2nd round picks they have signed to second contracts and not see them walk or traded them away or forced to retire dye to injury?
.
a big issue is head coach stability and stick to a defense system.

Knowing the Bills' luck, we'll want to trade down from the #1 pick but no team will be willing to break the bank for it. This is a weird period where almost all teams are set or set-ish at QB.
New England, San Diego, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Giants, Washington need a QB of the future
Miami, Denver, Minnesota, Detroit, Cincinnati, Indianapolis could be included based on this season

Yes, I am already bringing up 2019. We are terrible, in every sense of the word. I think we are a 4-win, at best, team. With that said, I anticipate we'll be in the top 3 for next year's NFL draft. So, here's my hypothetical question. If we are drafting at #1 next year, would you rather take Oliver or Bosa at #1 pick, or move down to 4, 5, or 6, get a nice package of 2nd and 3rd round picks, and draft O-line & WR. What say you??
Depends on draft talent.
trading down from 1-3 will cost teams additional 1sts on top of the pick you would flip with.
team needs in 2019 are...OL , RB, WR, OLB/DE CB, Some of these can be addressed in free agency with buffalo having I think the 2nd most available capspace.
