  1. The only way that this makes sense is if at the meeting where they(Rex,Whaley, coaches,Pegs) decide on the cuts, Fred was not one of the cuts that they decided upon....but then went and cut him anyway. That is going rogue.

Alternatively, Whaley, with the big picture in mind, held firm in the meeting and despite perhaps strong debate from several others it was decided that Fred should be one of the cuts. That is not going rogue.

Sometimes I think that members of the media don't actually use inflamatory and incorrect language on purpose....instead they are simply too ignorant and stupid to know the difference.

Going rogue also means...." Members of the team didn't know Jackson was going to get cut now". They may have talked about but maybe say wait till after the presses don games then decide.

  2. Just wanted to give Moshermw some props. I, along with most Bills fans, had never heard of Tyrod before this post back in February Since then I've felt ahead of the curve on TT.

Great intel and one of the reasons this board rocks..

    What he wrote was good.

I knew who this player was prior to this season. I had lived in Virginia previous and knew who he was as a high school player.

Like most QBs there was a bunch of questions with him in what he could do. Given his very limited pro experience on the field and not holding a clipboard its hard to say what he will do---preseason means crud against vanilla defenses.

  3. Post all suggestions here. T-Mobile can't stick , it's horrible enough we have to watch their commercials.

I'm curious if T-Mobile came from the locker room or from the media?

T-Mobile can be a fun nickname...

dropped balls by receiver= dropped calls

Overthrown/under thrown balls= service connection problems

Holding calls on the OL = star <pkayer number>

He succeeds and asks fir a raise= rate increase

He fails and gets cut= disconnecting service

He gets blindsides by a defender= texting while driving.

  4. On Red Bryant...

He was drafted by Seattle and was a very good player on the team, after his rookie contract he got a decent contract. He was well liked by the fans.

After Seattle won the Super Bowl he became a cap casualty because Seattle had a bunch of other key players to resign. They had very good DL depth just like what buffalo has. Choices had to be made.

He went to Jacksonville and followed his DC who became the Jacksonville head coach.

Thus off season with Jacksonville making free agency moves on the DL he again became a cap casualty.

He is very good run stuffer. Not much of a pass rusher. On obvious passing downs he'd get replaced by a pass rusher.

  5. I agree with you. Thompsons problem is that his hands are not great. If they were he would have been starting for someone else from the get go. The league teams know all about Thompson trust me. He was ranked ahead of Dez Bryant coming out of HS, was in a big school program and on a national championship team. He's been a pro for years now. Can your hands improve as you move deeper into your career? I tend to doubt that. Either you have good hands or you don't. You don't learn to have good hands. Good hands is something that God personally gifted to people like Cris Carter and Steve Largent. IMO Thompson has no further upside. He's not getting better. Having said that he's still a guy who brings a lot to the table and he deserves his opportunity and I think he will get it. Just not in Buffalo IMO, unless the Bills feel that Goodwin is just too brittle to play football at this level.

My impression is that Davis is the guy with the most upside. Got a feeling he could develop into a good outside & vertical guy with playmaking ability and a red zone target - something the Bills could definitely use. Hope he's on the PS if he doesn't make the 53.

I agree with much of what you said.

I see Goodwin bring trade bait for buffalo to add quality depth elsewhere.

The 4th WR likely isn't seeing much time unless injuries happen.

If I had to choose I'd rather keep Davis

  6. I could see trading a 5th or 6th receiver for O-line depth or some thing like that

I brought this up in another thread--I see Buffalo trading their depth at some positions that could be cut for players at other positions where they need depth.

There depth positions are at WR and RB. Goodwin and Bryce Brown could return something of value beyond a project player or a 5th-7th draft pick.

  7. No one. Any smart GM will see the Bills are in a pinch at WR and RB and the Sept. 4th deadline will force the front office to show their hand. Opposing teams can get the guys we can't retain for free off of waivers.

The issue a tam like Green Bay/Carolina who loses a WR for the season due to injury wont be able to claim players who have been waived. a far better option is to make a deal for a player who could help them.

Other teams may be looking for depth hey arent satisfied with on their team. Similarly they feel they wont be able to claim them so they offere atrade.

Buffalo could trade their WR/RB who is 4th/5th on the depth chart for a depth player they need elsewhere in their lineup like a depth Safety or a depth OL.

  8. Given the Bills depth at some positions I could see some player for player trades for players they need at other positions.

@ candidates I could see being traded are Bryce Brown and Marquis Goodwin where they return a TE and OL

I cold also see some trade in the DL depth for someone who is a LB or Safety

  9. Perhaps I misread it in Goodell's 20 page final report, but I think he said Brady provided the records 5 days before the hearing.

And they certainly WEREN'T the records Wells requested.

    GO BILLS!!!

They wanted the text messages...Brady destroyed the text messages---end of story.

They go to federal court this pesky little issue of destroying evidence comes into play. BTW the phone company or NSA still has the text messages that the court can obtain.
