  1. My two cents......

    1. li understand there is a policy of allowing season ticket holder the ability to purchase more game tickets first...but put a limit on this to allow fans access to game tickets. I dont live in Buffalo anymore, but i usually come into town for a weekend, may do a Bills game.

    2. I disagree with closing that walk pathway because of the fan death.

    3. The Verizon band with in the stadium sucks. When i was there trying to use my celphone to see other scores the thing was slow or not respond. I recal Verizon had a sponsorship agreement with the NFL for mobile broadcasting. i guess it only applies if you arent in a stadium.

    4. Why the change in sponsorship of training cup??? I am thinking the NHRA Drag Racing is eyeing sponsorship.

  2.

    1) Land...Howard Milstein, who is very connected to the governor, owns a gigantic parcel of land right behind the casino.

    2) Border access...Canadian fans can literally walk over the Rainbow Bridge to the new stadium. Customs can close down auto traffic for a day. It's a lot easier moving large numbers of people over a border without their vehicles.

    3) Falls redevelopment...Let's face it, NF, USA is a hole. If you build an NFL stadium along with a convention, hotel and entertainment complex, you have an attraction that trumps the Canadian side at least on game days. You can also develop an "NFL Experience" theme park as an ongoing attraction. How about moving training camp there? Another attraction. A bowl game? UB football? There are other events you can add that make it viable outside of game days.

just to add...Niagara Falls draws tourists from around the world....think of the global marketing opportunities from an NFL wide perspective if the build this walking distance to the falls.

It would be key for them to get an NFL experience park that operates year round. With it, they could get some stuff from the HOF

StaThey could also create a dedicated security line to the stadium after clearing customs that means the ticket holders only need to go through this once. this will add a level of effiiciency.

Its easier to process pedestrians than it is cars.

Also remember for those that drive over there are two other bridges they can use rather easily to cross. this will add efficiency of transport.look at other stadiums

Hopefully they would build such a stadium to also comply with soccer size field requirements ---they could host a few world cup games whenever the USA hosts again

That's what's going on now. Hence the desperate obstructionist antics from those representing the Erie side here. What they fail to realize is that if the bills are to be long term viable there's only one side. But when you have politicians and people who've been picking up $20/car to let people park on their lawn near the Ralph, they'll do anything to try and hang on

I think Erie might be able to come to some sort agreement on revenue sharing from the taxes, or the team as a corpooration stays in Erie county.. Look at the Potatoskins///dadium in Maryalnd, team HQ and practice facility in Virginia.

  3. Pettine---you really dont want this gig. they just fired the coach adter 1 year.Do you want to get fired after 1 yr too? the team is in dire straights where it appears they are gutting and trading away their team and need to rebuild from scratch again which will take a 3+ yr project. In the NFL now you will get canned for certain after 3 yrs because many sr mgmt dont realize how long it takes to rebuild a team.

Dont you enjoy facing the Jets, Pats, and fins 2 times a year??

  4. I was just watching some recap of the Cinci / San Diego game & Dalton fumbled after running down field & went down and fumbled . Well while watching the Play on the news he was down & slid 2 feet before the ball came out .

I thought the ground couldn't cause a fumble ? Not to mention that his knee , elbow, & pretty much his entire body was on the ground . Yet it was still called a fumble .

It is a fumble. If he was tripped and fell to the ground he would have been down and no fumble.

QBs need to slide feet first but they dont get the yardage from the slide.

A receiver or runner can call themselves down without contact without sliding by just kneeling. This would come into play on a last second pass to set up a half/game ending FG where you know you are in range but if the reciver runs they could burn the clock down to nothing so they stop to then call a time out.

Then in the same report Marshawn got fined for NOT talking to the media  I know there is a rule that every player has to talk to the media but to get fined $50K ?? Come on !! Heck i've seen guys get fined less for hitting a guy leading with his helmet !

Its a violation of league media rules. He will get fined again if Seattle makes it to the super bowl and he doesnt participate in media day.

Then there is the deal of having "control" of the ball all the way through motion of going to the ground, when caught by a WR . But aren't you down when your knee is down ? At least thats what the rule says --- right ?

This is a rule that is getting interpretted very inconsistantly the league needs to relook at what is a catch and what isnt. I have seen similar plays in different games get called opposite ways.

    .

BUT BUT , What happens when the guy is running & puts the ball across the goal line & the ball hits the ground & it comes out or the player loses control when hitting the ground & the player himself is not down but because the ball breaks the plain of the goal line it's a TD  ??

The instant you break the plane from running in makes it a TD. The moment its broken the play is over. Its different if you catch in the end zone. you need to establish possession first before the play then is considered dead because of the score.

I don't know but it seems as though the rules comity needs to take a long hard look at some of their rules because they don't make a lot of sense .

Are there any thoughts about some other calls that may have been made in these play offs that are contradictory in what the out come may have been in a game ?

Lastly would any of you know how to get in touch with the NFL to complain about some of these rules they need to change ?

  5. I think the officials made a mistake.....

The face masking was done from where the play was stopped not from the original line of scrimmage since it was a negative play.

There are scenarios where there is an incentive for a defense to do face masking to drive back the team. 1st down at the 1... You see a back running around the 6.. Just one hand yank him by the face mask at the 6 and you replay 1st from the 3 instead of the 1.

  6. Would anyone like it if the NFC and AFC went to a East/West only division lineup?

This would mean two 8 team divisions with the winners making the playoffs and each conference having 4 wild card teams.

It would prevent Dallas/GB/Chi/Phi from making the playoffs while the Cardinals are at home at potentially 11-5 watching an 8-7-1 team HOST a playoff game.

I do think it would make scheduling difficult.

To go to a 4 division 8 team per division format....

    8 divisional games (1 against 6+ H &H against 1 team) + 4 interconference games+ 4 intraconference games.

then you would have a very imbalanced schedule so the standings could be readically different because instead of now where divisions have 14 common games, under the new format, divisional teams would have something more like 10 common games.

In some seasons a team like New England could be very top heavy playing many of the top teams in other divisons, while Buffalo play a far weaker schedule--this will cause more year to year swings in standings.

  7. Admittedly, I don't know where the Bills fall along the tiebreaker spectrum vis-a-vis the five 8-7 and 7-8 AFC teams, but if they had played the Atlanta game in Orchard Park, the Bills would in all likelihood be 7-8 right now. If that was the case, next Sunday's game against NE could be be truly meaningful. Someone needs to raise that with Brandon. The Toronto series has to end.

If they beat Atlanta they likely win at Tampa. They were very flat against them.

At 7-8 how could they have made the playoffs......

    W + MIA L + BAL L + PIT L + SD L

BUF-BAL-SD tie at 8-8....tiebreaker #1 since nobody beat the other 2 it goes to conference record...BUF & BAL would be 6-6 vs SD 5-7....then it resets to BUF-BAL which BUF wins in a H2H.

Had they beat Atlanta, they likely would have beaten Tampa Bay (they wouldnt have been flat) and actually been 8-7 going into this weekend.

At 8-7 they would be in 2nd place....for the WC

    win + SD L

BUF loses a tiebreaker to SD based on strength of victory.

  8. San Francisco has no clinched a wild card....

SF W they are seed #5

SF wins and SEA lose they are division winner and #2 seed

SF wins and SEA lose and CAR lose SF is #1 seed

SEA win or SF lose and SEA win division and #1 seed

NO wins, or AZ lose, they clinch WC and #6 seed

NO wins, SF loses they get seed #5

NO wins, CAR loses, they win division and get #2 seed

CAR win they clinch division and seed #2

CAR win and SEA lose and SF Win then CAR #1 seed

AZ win and NO lose then AZ seed #6

PHL W they get seed #3

DAL W and GB W they get seed #3

DAL W and CHI win they get seed #4

GB win they get seed #4

CHI win and DAL win they get seed #3

CHI win and PHL win they get seed #4

    DRAFT ORDER

    1 HOU 2 134 highest 1, lowest 2

    2 WAS 3 123 1, 5

    3 JAX 4 121 2, 8

    4 OAK 4 124 2,8

    5 CLE 4 124 2,8

    6 ATL 4 132.5 3, 8

    7 TB 4 138 3,8

    8 MIN 4.5 123 3,8

    9 TEN 6 121 9, 13

    10 NYG 6 125 9,13

    11 BUF 6 125 9, 13

    12 PIT 7 113

    13 NYJ 7 118

    14 STL 7 133

Based on order the net gain any team can make up is 2 wins in the standings because every team who loses will increase by at least 8. With an all division schedule a team played 2 other divisons so in each division the net gain will be 2 for each division so the 2 divisions makes 4. The other two teams in the division play each other so that adds 2. If your team loses, then the win total goes up by another 2. The only differences will be in the non common games which are 2. If your two non common teams both win that adds 2 at max.

teams tied in wins of schedule are decided by coin flips.

If Buffalo wins the worst they can fall to is 13. They will not get a higher win total than STL because current difference is 8 > 2.

The highest Buffalo could get is 9

  9. SF W on MNF

    NO W AZ W/SF L---NO #5 SF #6

    NO W AZ L/Sf W--SF #5 NO #6

    NO L AZ W/SF L--SF # 5 AZ #6

    NO L AZ L/SF W--SF #5 NO #6

IF SEA L to STL and SF W then SF win division and SEA is seed #5

IF NO wins, and CAR L then NO wins division, and CAR is a WC

    SF L on MNF

    NO W AZ W/SF L--NO #5 AZ #6

    NO W AZ L/Sf W-- NO #5 SF #6

    NO L AZ W/SF L--AZ #5 NO #6

    NO L AZ L/SF W-- SF #5 NO #6
