Moore and Merriman are kept. Merriman can also be used in a linebacker position. In plays he is lined up as an OLB where for confusion they either blitz him or someone else and then he drops back in a linebacker role. With the DL I dont think it will matter much of the DE/DT where they may just as part of the rotation they rotate players as part of mismatches. Simillarly with mario they have 4 DL on the field and he is more of a roamer who rushes wherever to cause blocking assignment confusioin.
I think the ones that are safe are.....
Mario, Anderson, Williams, Dareus, Merriman, Kelsey, one DT( ??) and one DE (Moore). Do they keep a 9th DL ??? It comes down to keeping what they think is the best player between a DL vs other defensive positions and who can play on special teams.

PS My take on why the Bills signed VY is because he is a bigger, stronger version of BS, and should do worlds better running the WC. VY is the better QB & RB. IMO. Its what he did in college and was a world beater at it. 467 yards of offense in the 06 rose bowl. the #3 overall pick in 2006. if there ever was a QB to build an offense around its this guy. The Bills need to look at how the Panthers were able to get Cam Newton to run that "air Coryell" offense so well.
Should Fitz suffer an injury which puts him on the bench, i sure have more faith in VY who was a 2x pro bowler and starter as backup then TT or BS. But then, wth do I know.
Vince young adds the passing element to a wildcat formation. He can run and he can throw better than Brad Smith. I would not be surprised if the Bills actually cut Brad Smith and keep Vince Young and Thigpen.

The reason to have a no huddle set up is to attack against teams theat are big with situational substitutions.

I live in the seattle area so I know a think or to about what is going on here.
Wilson has been strong in the poreseason which means he will likely be #2 to Flynn then see what happenes this season.
Remember he was going against 2nd/3rd stringers so its hard to read how good he will be against the top defenses.

When are cuts?
The first set is after week 3.(to 75)..then the final cuts are after week 4 (to 53).

CBS Sports had reported it about 4 hrs ago.
I guess there is issue in the terms of the lease in St Louis with doing this.

where is the link for this?

My thoughts....Evans got released because he asked to be released.
He probably felt the system wasnt good for him and he thought he would be #4 or #5 on the depth chart.
Since he signed for a 1 yr deal he wanted to be on a team where he would be a starter and play most downs.
teams that could sign him---Dallas, Seattle
he is not coming back to Buffalo. No way no how. Chan and Buddy cut him for a reason. As much as many here have tried to give Lee too much credit, Buddy and Chan didn't see it. I do not see Buddy or Chan as the type of guys to bring back someone they let go.
They traded him---not cut him. There is a big difference. Their approach last year was to see where the season went.

Roosevelt cant do Ps based on my understanding of the PS rules. Easley can.
-
Some of the practice squad guys wont be our players....
Sessions and Onobun are eligible for the PS
I think McGee stays over McKelvin.
I think Nesbitt could go to the PS. Prince Miller I think is still eligible for the PS as well. 1 or 2 spots on the Ps are usually kept for the DBs.
Caussin is on the PuP list.
-
that leaves 89 player on roster and can have 90 for a off season roster who did this spot just open up for?
Let the Lee Evans debate begin......
-
Jasper can go to the practice squad
-
I think Easley is eligable for the PS
Roosevelt may get an edge because he can play special teams over the others.

What I forecast in the roster is:
OFFENSE: 3 QB, 4 RB, 6 WR, 2 TE, 9 OL DEFENSE: 9 DL, 6LB, 9 DB SPECIAL TEAMS: 4 FOR 52 roster players
1 spot is saved as a wild card player that the team feels they can't get them on the practice squad.
There is at least 1 player on the PuP...TE Caussin
QB the battle is bvetween Young and Thigpen ...Smith is the 3rd QB. Young has to be a total bust for him not to get the job. There is too much upside with him.
RB: White vs Choice vs Dickerson (is he a RB or TE)
WR: Easiey, Aiken, Roosevelt, Hagan, Martin, Sessions battle for 1-2 roster spots. Session can make the practice squad
TE: Brock, Onobun, Smith, Dickerson 1-2 roster spots
OL: Harriston, Pears, Glenn, Wood, Brown , Levitre, Urbik, should be safe The rest in a battle for 2 spots...a G and a T. Some of the players can get to the PS.
DL: The only safe ones are Merrimen, Mario, Anderson, Kyle Williams, and Dareus. I think Kelsey could be a cost veteran cut given his salary.
DB: 3 safeties are safe (Byrd, Wilson, and Searcy) For CB I think McGee, Gilmore, Aaron Williams are safe.
LB: This can get complicated....There ability to play special teams matters. In most defensive sets I see a 4-2-5 or 5-1-5 lineup (using Merriman as a DE who could drop off as a LB then blitz a DB). There are a couple of players they would like to have on the practice squad. Scott is another one where he can play pure safety instead of LB.
Sheppard, Scott, and Barnett are safe, I think Carder has an inside shot at making the final 53.

Baring some technical glitch you will not see the game on through direct TV You will get a black/blue screen when the game is supposed to air.
You can get some game feeds on NFLN if you have it. From around 7:30pm NFFLN is suppoosed to bounce around the games happeneing then.

NE is believed to be better until they arent. They have a long run at the top of the AFCST so they are assumed the favorite until another comes and crashes the party. Can Buffalo surpass them and he division....yes....whu---the difference is in their noncommon games. New England has Denver and Baltimore....Buffalo has KC and Cleveland.
Guys who looked okay last night and who didn't

In all honesty...I think the Bills predominatly just go with 2 LBs on the field for most plays where a LB is subbed for a third CB or 5th DL
also Sheppard in part was left on the field for more plays because the role of the MLB is the defensive captain/play caller
Something i agree with....I feel they should be lining up TJ Graham, Roosevelt, Hagan, et all in with the first unit and see how they perform against the starting DBs....same with using the back up CBs against the first team offense of the opponent.
