i suppose it could happen but i think at this point it's extremely unlikely unless one of those picks is from us trading up. i think Giants see an opportunity to either get the best position player in the draft or a lot of picks from us and Broncos would be stupid to take the 4th qb instead of the 2nd best player in the draft (or maybe someone they have as #1 in the draft if Giants take someone they weren't high on anyhow)

The Dolphins and Jaguars Unveil New Uniforms Today
K D replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
these guys have new uniforms every season it seems -
Nick Foles would be a 3rd round pick if he was in this draft
-
then they have to get to 2. I think Jets would take him at 3 and definitely Broncos at 5 that's what they should do. but they won't
-
Browns had an Allen (Kizer), Jets have an Allen (Hackenberg), Broncos have an Allen (Lynch). I'm not even sure why he is considered a top 5 pick at all. If the Browns are dumb enough to do it then so be it but I wouldn't expect Allen to go until the Bills somewhere between picks 6-12
-
they are taking Allen, they want someone to trade up for Darnold. it makes sense for them to put that out there to start accepting offers. Giants at 2 if they want Darnold is the obvious candidate. or the Bills trading to 2 and then to 1 would make sense as well

Allen has big hands and a strong arm. He's going to Cleveland!

when you already have a QB is when you can take chances like this on unknown guys. when you don't, you have to go for the sure thing. if we get Josh Rosen and he's a stud then next year maybe we start looking at 5th round guys to be his backup (once Peterman officially flames out)

What is your #1 QB performance metric?
K D replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"eyeball test." i watch how they move in the pocket and how they read defenses and what their ball placement is like. if you watch a lot of QB film you can just look and see that a guy is good because you have seen it before in another good QB. when i watch Josh Rosen I think of Eli Manning and Matt Ryan -
sure other QB's can get injured too but scrambling QB's are far more likely to get injured. you are putting yourself in harms way on purpose. historically they don't last as long. sure Vick played 13 seasons but how many of them was he any good? the first 2 when he could run maybe. after that he became very average to below average. i'm not a fan of the running type QB's. i think in the NFL you need to be a pocket passer. Jackson is going to have a great start to his career no doubt. if you said which of these QB's is going to be rookie of the year i would put all of my money on Lamar Jackson. i just don't think it is a sustainable model for success

he's 21, he can gain some size. when i was 21 i could eat whatever i wanted and i stayed skinny. now it's VERY easy to gain weight lol. the concussions are an issue but i also think in the NFL they protect the QB's a lot better and he will learn to throw the ball away to stay safe like what Tom Brady is able to do
-
he's 226, he's bigger than Darnold and much bigger than Mayfield from the combine: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/josh-rosen?id=32462018-0002-5600-59bd-f150d938ca3e https://www.nfl.com/prospects/sam-darnold?id=32462018-0002-5600-578a-86541c8f8891 almost an inch taller than Darnold, a few pounds heavier, longer arms, bigger hands
-
with some of the other guys you are definitely trying to manage risk. any of those other guys can be great but there's also a higher chance they will be busts. the reasons given for Rosen don't bother me. Mayfield, it's his size. with Allen it's about 10 different things. i think it's really hard to try and predict what they will be. that's why i lean a little more towards what they are now. Rosen is the best now imo

1 prime time game would be fun. but i like my 1pm sunday games. when it's at 4pm or on a thursday it's screws up my schedule
-
that was a completely different game. since about 2000 it's been a passing league. the successful qb's play from within the pocket and within structure
-
I think because of 1) durable 2) makes plays outside of structure 3) youngest (untapped potential) 4) high floor, won't be a bust so it's a safe pick I think if you got into the nuts and bolts with these guys they would admit he is not the best QB in the draft. he is just a very nice player and a safe pick
-
from before I was born lol
-
I have mixed emotions. I want them to get a top guy. But I also feel like Rosen and Mayfield are better players and a better value since you won't have to give up as many picks. I will be initially disappointed but then I will be glad they at least got a top guy.

Darnold isn't a franchise type QB. he's a game manager like Alex Smith or Sam Bradford. I wouldn't be worried about him at all
-
the pride of Coffeyville Community College. bold choice
-
he will be good, if you want that kind of QB. what scrambling QB has ever been successful for long though? let's say he is Mike Vick. ok, was Vick really that great? maybe you can have a couple of good seasons but injuries and failure to develop as a pocket passer and these types of QB's are out of the league quick
-
it's in the rumors thread

i think RB is a need. Shady is on the wrong side of 30 and is expensive. i think we go RB at some point in this draft. or maybe they push it out 1 more year if they have to trade away their picks.
