I think I've decided. I want Cruz to win the nomination. If he wins the Presidency, maybe Constitutional values see a resurgence. If he gets blown out by abortion and same-sex marriage nonsense, the Republicans are dead.

NFL Network: Bills Will Challenge for AFC East Crown
FireChan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are we still pretending that Rex didn't have turnover machine Sancho his first two years? It's not like that affected his points allowed too much. Someone also crunch the numbers on a below average pass D for the last 3 years. That's yards allowed. Good thing we don't have to beat a good QB who passes a lot to make the postseason. -
It had been too long. No man lasts forever.
-
But I think it is. Because if Aaron is the one beat to death in front of everyone (I highly doubt it, but it's absolutely possible) it's just another redshirt dying. Like the redshirt who got shot in the eye last week. It's not humbling. If they had cut down the group to Rick, Carl, Michonne, Glenn and Daryl, I could see his point. Because then you know someone major died. Someone who mattered. Someone who we had watched for years evade death over and over. That would be humbling. By leaving the possibility of it being a secondary character, they cheapened it. The more likely explanation IMO is that they thought the cliff-hanger would build a ton of buzz and concocted an explanation for it.
-
Exactly! I think it's Glenn too. He's one of the few major characters with moral fiber, and he's not the only one in a relationship now. His death allows Maggie to grow past the character she's been for about 4 season straight. Which makes their BS dumpster nonsense from earlier even more egregious. You don't fake a character's death in the same season you kill that character. I like TWD and it's a solid 7/10 or 8/10 show, but I can't help but think they shoot themselves in the foot so much. It's a show with too many good moments and not enough great ones, IMO and it could've been so much more. Hats off to Andrew Lincoln's acting once again. He had a rocky start but now he's phenomenal.

Anything but what they did, honestly. Especially after the Glenn hijinks earlier this season. Tricks like cliffhangers only work when the audience doesn't feel like they are being cheated and it actually sets something new up. Case in point, season 5 cliffhanger in the box car. That was done right. Good dialogue, new situation, new characters coming together and all getting captured. And all of their arcs in the season were resolved at the end, ready to start a new arc together. What arc has ended in Season 6? None, until the first 5 minutes of season 7. When someone binge watches the show in 2 years, it will seem fine. To anyone who watches it on TV regularly, it seems stupid.

Probably the best build-up and tension filled episode TWD has ever created. Then they ruined it. I will never understand the idea of having this awesome build-up and not having anything happen, besides a money grab. Artistically, it makes no sense. It's not even a mystery-type cliffhanger, with wild theories. Now either the season 7 premiere will open cold with the victim, then be boring for 40 minutes comparatively, or they will do a flashback and wait 40 minutes for the reveal. Either way, all the tension they built up in the season finale will be forgotten. So much potential, wasted.

What other WR's are missing any part of camp due to any other reason but injury? I'll wait. You believe it's easy to be a good NFL player. You believe you can work-out for the Olympics and work-out for the NFL and be successful in both. And while one-in-a-billion athletes may be able to do that, I don't think a guy with 3 catches in 2 years is one of them. His NFL career is on life support and he's taking time off that career to, as Badol put it, have fun. If that doesn't speak to his commitment, what would?
-
Player A will spend his offseason conditioning for football, will attend camp and will probably meet with his QB to build chemistry. Player B will spend his offseason practicing his long jump, will skip camp and probably won't meet with his QB. Which one is committed to the Bills? Which one takes the Bills seriously? Which one will have a better year next season?

Huh? Who? -
You nailed it! "I just focus on the stuff I can control," Taylor told the Hampton Daily Press. "I'm not necessarily into the contract stuff. I let my agent handle that. I know I'm under contract for another year. Whether they choose to extend me or not, that's out of my reach right now. Like I said, I'm just focused on things I can control, and that's preparing like I've always prepared. "I definitely think I showed what I can do, and I definitely think that I showed that I'm going to continue to get better. I improved each game. ... I would love to be the long-term answer but I understand the business side of it. If something happens (with the contract) this year, I'm happy for it, but if not, we'll wait it out and see what happens." He's so mad.
-
You realize he hams it up like that to elicit this response?
-
Based on the fact that long jump conditioning and football conditioning are two very different things, and doing one by definition takes away from the other. I'd think someone totally committed to football would be doing anything in their power to keep that career going, including conditioning, especially when they have played a handful of downs in 2 years.

This is absolutely baseless and you trying to besmirch a dead man's name by citing a heart-felt post from a client is abhorrent. Byrd doesn't seem to blame Parker for his "career." Who are you to say Byrd didn't want to get max dollars because his foot injuries looked like they were going to end his career anyway? More importantly, who are you trying to cast judgment of if Byrd's career is "good" or not? Whose motivations matter, his or yours? Jairus Byrd's dad is an NFL coach and Pro-Bowl CB and has been involved in his life from the beginning. Stop spewing your bull ****. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Byrds-Legacy-Experience-a-father-son-effort/6c8b5671-430f-4ddd-9bc7-71e0032a8a24

Goodwin bothers me more than almost every other Bills player only because I don't believe he has committed to the team. He's not only doing a disservice to himself, but to his teammates as well. He's not an EJ or Chris Kelsay, who tried their best and just weren't good enough. Goodwin doesn't take it seriously. There are many things I'm willing to abide when they don the Blue and White, but not that. JMO, of course.

LB Bruce Carter Visting Bills; Signing with the NYJ

Doesn't Glenn only have one kidney right now? Without knowing his condition, this seems like a very risky position to hold either way. -
Agents do what their players want. If money is important, their agents get the most they can.

WGR on EJ - will he stay on the roster as backup QB?
FireChan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McCown wins more games than EJ all things being equal, IMO. I made an argument up thread if you'd like to take a look. -

Hoyer and McCown. Both are on the block. -

I think that's an ideal deal, personally. We may need to overpay because I'm sure some other QB needy teams are looking for a guy too. I think there is. -

Depends on how badly Whaley and co need to make the playoffs. Say, a 4th? -

Why not? Cut EJ after a year or let him walk, trade a guy who wants out and get a pick in return? Sounds like a perfect deal to me, IMO. -

They probably could. But I'd love to have them as back-ups. And seeing as both teams they are on are trying to trade them...
