Roster better now than it was 3 yrs ago?
BuffBill replied to Maddog69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The offense would be good enough if we were up by 4 touchdowns every game. If it is a close game, forget it, Fitz chokes every single time. -

I think in most areas it is at least a little bit better then in 2009. Looking at the 2009 roster, the only area that I see that was obviously better then was Wide Receiver. Quarterback may have been a tad better with Fitz and Edwards, but it still sucked. Running back was probably about equal with a younger Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. Just about every other position, I think the current roster is better, which is really sad because the number of wins keeps getting lower each year. I kinda makes me ill to say it, but you are probably correct. -
Sports Illustrated coaching change article

I certainly hope it turns out to be more then a dumbfounded rumor. In fact, I hope Ralphy is in an agreeable mode when Brandon talks to him and he cleans out the entire front office also, which is what apparently Brandon is hoping for. No doubt. I have been saying that for over a year, that his insistence to stick with Fitz, would ultimately cost him his job. Might just cost Nix his job also for not bringing in a replacement. -
Fitz/Gailey are the worse than Jauron/Lossman

I agree with you 100%. Didn't think it was possible, but they passed that plateau some time ago. -
Sanchez to start this weekend vs. Bills
BuffBill replied to Maybe Someday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just like when the Bills started Marshawn Lynch against the Packers a few years ago. They are hoping he has another All Pro type game against the Bills so he is a more desirable trade option for other teams. -
Draft Order Now highest is #4, lowest is #10

Well that seals the deal then, he will be a BIll. -
I am hoping with everything that I have that, that statement by Nix gets him canned too. He is just as bad a GM as Gailey is as a HC, if not worse. Just the fact that he stuck with Fitz for this season and didn't get a quarterback in a QB heavy draft (2012), and now has to find one in draft class that probably doesn't even have any (nor is there any free agents available), should give him his walking papers immediately.

People lose sight that Washington's isn't just all RGIII or Shanahan, and not taking anything away from either, would be amazing to have them in Buffalo. But, when they hired Shanahan, they also hired a GM with a proven track record, and also drafted a running back who is 2nd or 3rd in the NFL in rushing. Our GM couldn't hit on two picks in one draft if he had the luckiest day in his life.

Sounds like a plan. Heck have drunken Joe Namath on the sidelines too.

Nix Doesn't Deserve To Pick A New Coach

And I remember people jumping in the swimming pool but I don't remember anyone getting wet? -
That was the whole point, if everyone is on the Jets side dressed in green it will look like only Jets fans are in attendance.

I would probably bet that at least one of the Bills end up going, as every year players back out, until they get through the alternates to the guys that don't deserve to be there end up going. Now with the current stupid format of being before the Super Bowl, some of the best players will be playing in New Orleans so they will need replaced too. I think they still have to announce some alternates, wouldn't be surprised if Spiller is one fo them.
-
Why, does your boss give you the option of whether you want to work this week? Mine sure doesn't. They are getting paid big bucks, shouldn't be up to them. Unless there is some younger players that the Bills want to see, and with Chan that doesn't seem to be the case as he is backed up to the wall, play them until they drop.
-
I think to truly answer that question, we have to wait and see what changes are made to the GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff and Quarterback positions. If they make some changes, and the changes turn out to be good ones, we may see the playoffs in a year or two, maybe three. If no changes are made, we may be in for another decade or so, as it appears to be a never ending rebuilding cycle.

No Pro Bowlers for one of the most underachieving disappointing teams in the NFL. Spiller and Byrd could have made it but being on this team costs them, and probably deservedly so.
-
Rest the players for what? They have another 8 months to rest after sunday, as they do every year. Might be a good week to see which players have heart and which players are playing for the paycheck. Resting them would be ridiculous if the only reason was to avoid injury.
-
Not to mention a former Pro Bowler and another player coming off of a season with double digit sacks. On paper they should be the best in the league, on the field just the opposite. Unreal.

Bills won’t take a look at Tarvaris Jackson in finale
BuffBill replied to Martimus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt. If one player displays the way this organization has operated for nearly two decades it is Jackson. Give up a draft pick for someone, cut Vince Young in the process (not that that was loss), and never even see what he can do. Then he leaves via free agency? Make no sense at all. Kinda like buying a car, leave it in the driveway for a year without getting in it then give it away? I would certainly hope that nothing can save Chan's job, but I am sure you are correct that that is his thinking. He is backed into a corner by the fans and hopefully management, so he wants to win. -
Nix Doesn't Deserve To Pick A New Coach
BuffBill replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gruden is an offensive coach, so me might be clueless about the defense, which is why you have coordinators. Gailey is an offensive coach and he is clueless about the offense, so either way it is a major upgrade. -
I don't think anyone was referring to this seasons Season Ticket holders. There will some type of Terrell Owens, Mario Williams move that will pull all the undecided gullible Bills fans back into renew their tickets.
-
Really? I guess you didn't realize the Jets' color is Green. Might look like only Jets fans are at the game. Wow? The only people that it matters if they notice are the fools that run this joke of a franchise. Who care if people on the west coast see it, but if the Bills brass see it, they wallets might itch for a change.

Bryce Paup coaching HS football in GB, son deciding future
BuffBill replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea he does. Still probably the best free agent signing in team history. Although he wasn't here long, he was a beast while he was, as evidenced by his Defensive Player of the Year award. He came when top players didn't have to get grossly overpaid just to consider coming here, we were still within memory of this team being a winning team. -
Sorry, I am a stickler for accuracy. What would thinking there is better talent then 3 years ago be based on? Salary? The drafts really haven't been any better. The play and the results have been worse. Sadly, this team is worse then the Dick Jauron coached teams, and the records show that, that is the evidence you need.
