I like Shakir a lot as far as his improvements go, he really solidfied himself as another viable option for Allen but I don't see him as a #2 WR, great hands shifty WR (much like Davis) but doesn't have the speed you'd like to see or in my opinion the route tree... YET! But I think he will fill that Cole Beasley role with Kincaid for mismatches on the field. We still need to find that guy in the draft imo.
Shakir will end up as our slot guy so technically the 3rd. We’ll need to draft a speedy WR with our 1st RD pick.Later, in the 3rd we should draft another. Enough of the defense crap. Safeties sure with the 2nd and 4th, but then come back to the offense and bolster the offense. Eventually we’ll need Morse’s replacement even as good as he’s been in past years. He really has been our most consistent O Lineman, but a whole bunch of concussions concerns me.

I'm more selfish than that. I want Mahomes to win.
If the Ravens KO the Chiefs & advance to the Super Bowl, that'll just make the narrative against Josh even stronger. "Every other elite QB in the AFC accomplished more & made a Super Bowl!"
Burrow & Lamar both made more AFCCGs, both beat the Chiefs in the playoffs, both made a SB, and one even has an MVP (possibly 2). If Mahomes KO's Lamar, that drops his record to 2-4 in the postseason, and it'll still give Josh some breathing room.
I respect your pov, but I’m in the other camp. I don’t care about the narrative. I care about the Chiefs going home. If Lamar makes it to the SB, so be it. I think the Ravens are going to win it all regardless of which team they play. For me, I’m hopeful the Lions pull it off and finally make it to their 1st SB.

I fully expected this award to go to him, but Flacco really deserved it.

I’ll be watching … I’m a football fan and there are only three games left
Same. It is long drought until the next season in September. I’m watching all 3 games even though I’m not excited about either team winning. I’m with Jeremy from WGR, and rooting for Baltimore as I can’t stomach another Chiefs SB. I’m also rooting for the Lions as they deserve it after decades of mediocrity. Besides, how can you not like Dan Campbell.- 2

The Bills should promote this guy to DC in title and pay. McD can still be involved and/or mentor him. Seems like a rising star in the coaching ranks and the Bills should find a way to retain him, particularly while McD could stand to put more focus into his role as head coach.
That’s a good idea. -
Whorlnut,I’m so sorry. Of course we’ll pray for her. Have faith and hope for the best.

He has a 0% chance of getting the job. We are "doing him a solid" by giving him interview experience I guess. I just hate the Rooney rule. I think qualified candidates will find their ways to jobs by their resume, not because of the color of their skin.
It’s not like this is unique to the NFL. I was in Mgmt for 10 years, and was pushed to interview minority candidates, but was never forced to hire diversity candidates. If they impressed, I would hire the best person.- 1

I'm surprised most people seem to think we're going to find our 2024 starting safety in the mid rounds of the upcoming draft.
Safeties are pretty huge in McDermott's D.
That’s true, but we need even more WR’s, and Beane eluded to it in his final press conference. -

Greg Tompsett is making the podcast rounds in the bye week this week and talking cap.
Gave a pretty detailed plan on Cover1 and showed how the Bills could get themselves to about $72M UNDER the cap. Or $56M under without anything too crazy.
Worth watching, or at least clicking around through, for anyone concerned with our cap situation next year.
He was also on Locked On Bills to discuss our Free Agents and re-signing options
As a little preview, the detailed plan to get to $72M...
No Brainers - Cap Saved
Restructure Josh - $23M
Restructure Diggs - $13M
Restructure Ed - $3M
Release Hines - $5M
Release Harty - $4M
Total - $48M
Being $29M OVER cap right now, these moves alone put us $19M UNDER.
Tompsett's Preferred/Likely Moves - Cap Savings
Extend Dawkins - $7M
Extend Douglas - $6M
Extend Johnson - $5M
Release Siran Neal - $3M
Release Sam Martin - $1M
Restructure McGovern - $3M
With these moves added to the above, the Bills would be $44M UNDER
Painful but Possible - Cap Savings
Release Poyer - $5.5M
Release Tre - $6M
Bills now $56M UNDER
Prefer Not - Cap Savings
Restructure Milano - $2.5M
Restructure Knox - $6M
Trade Elam - $165k
Release Bates - $1.5M
Release Morse - $5.5M
Bills now $72M UNDER
I type all that to once again reiterate, the cap is a myth.
This was very helpful so than you.- 1

I trust Cosell's analysis as he doesn't appear to be emotionally-biased and goes by the tape (tape don't lie)
I find the same on Cosell. He’s fair and has balance in his approach to tape. I also agree with his sentiment on Diggs. He was a top #1 in years past, but not now. I have some who have mentioned he played with an ankle problem so maybe with an off season, he may return to a top. WR.With that said, we need to pick up two WR’s in the draft. We don’t have $ for any free agents. I expect we probably will purge Von, and Tre, and although some dead cap, it will still help with the cap. The sad part is we don’t have the space to extend guys like Jones, Floyd, and others.

There’s going to be knuckleheads in any fan base. Just ask about Eagles fans. The mafia is by far the best fanbase in the league.

We don’t need another slot WR. We need an outside WR.

Heavy defense is a mistake. WR, x2, and Safeties

I know he’s a hard ars, but he’ll create discipline and that is needed in LA. Hopefully he can build them up to battle with the Chiefs.
On a separate note, god I hope the Ravens win this week. I can’t handle the Chiefs in another SB.

Nope. A WR and another in the 3rd round as I expect a safety in the 🥈
-
He was an excellent addition.
-
It’s a little surprising as he didn’t exactly light it up with talent at the Chargers
-
Makes room for two WR’s in the draft. We also need safeties. Thankfully we have 10 picks in the draft. My guess is we also let Von go and take the cap hit.

Poyer has one year left on his contract, so we only need one safety.

DeAndre Hopkins was missed. Should have been a Buffalo Bill the second Diggs restructured his contract this offseason.
Agreed. Beane should’ve made a better offer.

You make a solid point on Baker, and since I’ve seen all of his games living in Tampa, he had a tremendous year. People down here in Tampa really love what he accomplished.
