  1. It is fun watching this game a second time really seeing how their power run game, mixed up intermediate passes, and a phenomenal pass rush made Brady look so frustrated. If we can gel as a defensive unit even close to what this team has done for quite some time, we will gain excellent field position, and although not pretty (run hard with our two horses) but will wear down a team like the Patsies.

As many of you have said, we haven't won a thing yet, but I like the philosophy of what we are creating. Can we just get one more WR, TE, and solid LB? We're getting closer for the first time since in over a decade.

    Go Bills!

  2. It will never happen because Ralph would never let it happen. It is not their style. Our locker room is tight and Chan wants to keep it that way. Just look at the attention getting persona of the Jets, and then what happened when things were tough last year. They imploded. The Bills on the other hand when all was lost spanked the Broncos, and showed heart. Hard Knocks is not good for a football team especially when they are trying to build something.

This is one strength of the Bills.

  3. To:

    Mad Town Buffalo.

Don't think about these losses as that only puts all of us in a bad spot. Think about the Houston Win from 35-3 down at the half. That is resilience, determintation, and a "I don't care, but I'm going to kick their ass trying attitude". That makes me want to lift, train, and run harder.

This thread is tough as it reminds me of that Tim Russert exerpt where he talked about the Buffalo Curse. I can't live that way. I'm so excited for this year, adn yes, I've been as disheartened as all of you. I'm just so excited I think we have football people finally running this team since the Butler/Polian Clan of old.

I'll take the Southern drawl all day long.

Here's my challenge to all my Bills friend out there. Forget about all of these miserable games. How about Fandemonium with the Jets win, Houston comeback, smack dpwn on the Raiders by 50 points, etc, etc. Yogi Beara always told his hitters to watch film where a player was killing it, not where he was in a slump.

Short Memories my friends! Short Memories.

  4. Guys - upside if your looking at retreads is Plaxico. He did not have a full off season last year, and had two years to get his knee healed up. The Jets are a debacle right now, and I don't look at him not resigning as a negative.

Every flippin analyst on the planet but us, wanted a tall WR when we already had Nelson, Easley, and Chandler. We picked up TJ for speed. If your going to go league low in terms of comp, and that would be the only deal worth it, or very low with lots of incentives is a Plax deal.

Remember what he did in Pittsburgh, and NYG. I don't think he's done for one reason. He has to need money after two years in jail with the loss of endorsements, and none coming lately. If he was cheap, I'd bring him into camp.

  5. Section 122. You need to follow College Football more closely. The SEC is the best in College Football. I live in Florida, but not an allegance to any conference. It's very easy to see when you follow the different excellent teams out there in each of the conferences. They have the best players as an aggregate, and thus compete against the best. That is why they are drafter more than any other area of the country. That doesn't mean there are not excellent athletes in everything from Division 1 to 2 football. Just very simple to follow.

As far as Nigel, the previous threads from Ramius are right. Nigel will be good and make the team. He is a little aggressive, but when given time with a veteran like Barnett to mentor him, he'll blossom in year 2 and on.

Section 122, not busting your chops, but just correcting you on a fact. Watch these games each week like we do down here, and you'll see the differnce in the speed of the game over ACC, Big 10, Big 12, PAC 10, etc.

  6. Adam Schein and Rich Gannon on NFL Radio are High on the Bills this year with a prediction of 10-6, and ahead of the J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, Jets. Love it! Biillieve!

Even on NFL Network tonight they picked the Bills over the Jets. Just can't wait given the additions, the team with a full off season, believing in Buddy's picks late in the draft based on hx, and most of all, because I'm sick and damn tored of watching mediocrity like the rest of you.

I really think the Secondary is going to look like rock stars once the front four start gelling. With good field advantage, and a better o-line to run in a balanced attack, we can achieve this double digit milestone. Haven't felt this way since Flutie Flakes.

  7. Fast Freddy finished with 934 yards over 10 games which is an average of 93.4 yards with my Astrophysics math per game. If you just extrapolate out the same over the rest of the 2011 season he would have finished at 1494.4 yds. This would have been second in the NFL last year behind MJD out of the Jags who had absolutely no passing game. MJD is Mighty Mouse, but Fast Freddy, is fantastic.

I know all of us can rip apart whethere it would have continued or not, but he is a special talent. What if we found him 5 years ago and knew what we found?

I'm so happy for him in his new extension. I hope he hits every extension defying the odds at 33 when he is done. What a high calibur guy. This is what we all want in BILLIEVE.

I'm not sure if anyone heard his NFL Radio interview but exactly what we want the avg NFL fan hearing about Buffalo. We need more of him on our team.

  8. Guys - I'm ok with Fitz and everyone who is so desperate to win just calm down. I know each of you want to win as much as I do. I'm so sick of losing and never faced it in my own sports career as I'm sure many of you are used to winning.

Before I write off Fitz, he had cracked ribs, lost Wood, much of his line week by week, and all of those defensive losses. I'm very hopeful as the one thing you can't teach is judgement.

    I believe in Fitz.

  9. Their lines aren't what they were two years ago. They made a tremendous mistake with Tebow.

Not because he is a great guy and an athlete, but because he will be an antagonist towards derision without trying. Too many fans are not football people and they are not seeing he is not an NFL QB. Sure he won. That was with a great defense, good running game, descent o line, and a weak schedule and by the way were lucky.

I can't wait for the Fireman as we are going to make Sanchez look bad. We are also going to show how Fast Freddy wins games. Can't wait for week 1.

    1-0!

  10. This name is made for one of those Mike Myers movies. Wow, look at that Fugger Go!. Holy Fugger!. That Fugger is at the 30- the 20- the 10. what a Fugger!

You just can't stop a Fugger! That Fugger bullrushes like no one else.

I want him to make the team just to say, Holy Crap did you see how the Tank, and the Fugger killed that guy. I wouldn't want to be Fugged. He He.

  11. Colt McCoy? Smart just not tall. A back-up not a starter, but we can draft our future starter later. We need a good team. Create one which I think is Chixley's thinking, and they can parlay multiple drafts later for the Fitz replacement.

Guy's we're all scarred. We are going to be a better team this year. I've never thought this for over a decade. We're finally making smart picks.

  12. I rarely start threads, but I've seen people throwing around draft grades, and I think that approach doesn't mirror how most of us view the draft. I'm interested in your opinions, pick by pick.

    1. Gilmore - Given who was available during the pick, I'm very happy with our selection. With Kalil, Blackmon, Kuechly, (and Barrron) gone, Gilmore was our only real option, imo.

    2. Glenn - I'm a Martin fan, but how can we be upset with this pick? Excellent value, excellent prospect. Very happy.

    3. Graham - My least favorite pick this far. He's certainly a burner, but needs a lot of work for an early 3rd rounder. His hands seem so-so, fumble issues, and his blocking is bad. That being said, Chan seems thrilled to have him on the team, and I hope that Chan's right about him.

    4. Bradham - Fantastic pick in round 4. Good physical specimen, plays with passion. I think he'll see significant time by years' end.

    4. Brooks - Another pick I love. Watch him pop out on special teams play, and force his way onto the dime package.

    5. Sanders - Another excellent pick, great value in the 5th. Great head on his shoulders, a lot of experience, glad to see another capable tackle who can play both sides.

    5. Carder - Yet another pick I'm happy about. Great instincts, good tackler, Rose Bowl MVP. Can't believe he broke his back when he was a kid.

    6. Asper - While some of us we're looking at McNutt with this pick, I am not terribly upset. I'm happy to see we're making a concerted effort to build a solid Oline, with good depth.

    7. (will update once selection is made)

    Agreed!!!!

  13. I don't agree on Fitzy. He had broken ribs and the problem is all of us are so desperate to see wins, and remembering the good old days, we are all frustrated. Fitzy can play. This is not an indictment on the last guy, as i am frustrated too (Ask my wife as she closes the door as I yell at the tv every week in the fall). Whether we like it or not he is going to play so might as well get him more time (o-lineman), get a better defense so he is not under pressure to win every game on his own (williams, anderson, and this draft), and another weapon with a speed receiver. I'm disappointed we did not go with a tight end with one of these pics today. There were good ones out there, and we need more than just Chandler to compete.

I think we will be a 10-6 team. The schedule shows a weaker schedule like the 9-7 year with Mularkey. If we make one playoff game and lose, but get better, then really make a push over the next two years, again with patience, i'm happy. As all of you know we've made the worst pics in mgmt, scouting, and coaching which has resulted in all of these ridiculous picks over the last decade.

BIILLEAVE in CHIXLEY! We need to as we can't keep changing.

  14. Guys- I'm happy with this draft. We can maybe increase depth at o-line, d-back, which you can look at it that we had no rush so that is a compounding factor, but also we had a weakness. This means we get a rush, i think a stud at LB with Nigel (love that name), some depth at tank, and and who knows if Chan can get our new WR toy to break out. You can only do so much with what is on the board at each pick.

I'm just so happy we have football people picking players. I really believe in Chixley. If Ralph will stay out of the way, keep the pocketbook open, we can create a winning team in 2012, and really make a push in 13, and 14. I'm just sick of telling my boys who play the game how we were in the playoffs for 11 out of 14 years from the late 80's to late 90's. This is not the team i grew up watching. Have a long view and watch them start winning.

BILLS MAKE ME WANT TO SHOUT!
