If he can stay healthy, I really believe EJ is that guy for several reasons: maturity, second year in the Offense and full Off-Season, and new weapons to help him, plus an upgraded Offensive Line (presumably)...
But Woods, A. Williams, and Gilmore are honorable mentions as others have noted...
Dark horse: Gragg
This may be the fan in me, but I agree. Maybe partially because I want it to happen, but also for the reasons stated above. A safe pick though is Aaron Williams. If EJ does not progress, it will be harder for Woods to improve with a QB who can't stay healthy or accurate.
Let's all cross fingers and toes it is EJ.

My last two companies given it is silicon valley are placed out there so as a regional manager I would be out about 8 times per year. The stadium looks awesome, and would love to watch the Bills out there. There is a lot to do, good restaurants, beautiful scenery, and perfect weather.
It is possible on the upside if we made large strides this year, finally make a wildcard in the playoffs, build a little more next year with free agency, and another solid draft. I know we don't have a #1, but we still have several picks, and our team is more talented.

Niagara Falls has its faults BUT, IF Bon Jovi were the successful bidder, he needs a place to play. Toronto is way short of NFL seating standards. He needs a new Stadium, and we all know the BILLS don't draw well in Toronto. He should know that Canadian support is not enough by itself. He also should know that our Fan Base will not follow the team to Toronto.
So IF he's successful, a NF site makes sense in keeping us, and adding enough additional Canadian Fans to make the whole outrageous purchase price work.
The future of the BILLS demands a "regional" fan base. NF is close enough to: Buffalo, Hamilton, Toronto, and Rochester to provide the fan support that will be needed in the future.
So I guess you read the Toronto Sun article from yesterday. You make good points. I brought up the same on a thread yesterday. As long as Bon Jovi keeps it in NF and signs a long term agreement with NYS, I'm fine with it. The Golisano angle seems interesting placing where the Seneca Mall was with the Real Estate Developer, but doesn't help regionalizing the team with Canada and Rochester.

One other point. I really hope the coaches highly persuade Marcel to get help. if he is in counseling, then add him into group therapy as well for survivors of people they have lost.
I wouldn't give up on a good kid who made mistakes, but help him.

I just read the ESPN Article on Dareus stating the Bills should keep him. I agree, but then reading again his childhood and the number of people who died close to him throughout his childhood, I just felt bad for the guy.
When I was 21-22, I and my friends did some knucklehead things. At least he was smart enough to smoke the synthetic marijuana as you won't catch it on their drug tests. Marrone and Whaley just need to sit him down (I'm sure they did) and remind him what he's capable of doing, and if he produces on and off the field, he will be up for his first major contract in two years. Pro Bowl DT make the real money in the second contract.
This can be resolved and he'll probably get a 4 game suspension and have to enter the drug program, where he can be tested up to 10 times a month.

His doctor is also the Pittsburgh Steelers doctor and cleared him to play. This is risky due to his Insurance Policy that if he has a career ending injury, he gets $10,000,000 tax free. I didn't read every post on this thread so if already stated I apologize.
His doctor nullifies that insurance policy so he's going have to play in order to continue to make a decent living. He knows this so he probably pushed his doctor to clear him. If no other team doctor clears him, you can bet he'll be catching passes for Big Ben.
I'd love to have our doctors examine him and work him out. One problem. I just checked the Cap Tracker and although an estimate based on contracts, we are ranked 19th with only $7.5 mil left. That is not much given GM's typically keep at least $5 mil on hand given injuries during the season. If they really want him, they'd have to can a couple of guys to do it. Given a couple of lineman after camp will most likely hit the street, we could do it.
What's the harm in trying and make an informed assessment.

There is no way Marrone allows him to get cut. That would be suicide given a new owner coming in as he needs to win this year and the next.
They will scold him, maybe fine him, and be done with it. He needs as they did with Dez Bryant a chaperone.

I love another circus in NY. The Jets just never learn. This is great for us.
-
Yes, he has an afternoon show on WGR. He likes to ruffle feathers.
Thanks partner. I appreciate it. I'd always rather listen to NFL Radio, than our local sports radio show as the conversations are more interesting. He sounds like a dingbat.

Last year he was over his head in that Marrone should have done last year what he did this year in hiring an Assistant head Coach in Hostler, and a QB coach for a rookie, and inexperienced back ups.
Because of such inexperience, teams will often rely more on a running game, and safe and easy passes. Compound this with your starter missing half the pre-season, and getting hurt two more times in the year missing 6 regular season games.
There were times where Hackett looked sharp like in the KC game. It's not his fault Tuel throws a critical INT in the end zone, and when Graham drops a ball on our 10 yard line causing a 14 pt. swing in the game. I'm not willing to throw him under the bus yet, but he should be able to open up the passing game this year.
If he was that bad, and all of these teams who had good front 7's knew we were going to run the ball, and our bad O-Line, and we still ended up 2nd in the NFL in the run.
That's not an accident. I'm just saying give him time this year with new tools, a better line we hope, a more mature QB and see how he calls plays this year.

Guys I've lived in Tampa for 23 years. I grew up in Buffalo, actually Hamburg. Who is Mike Schopp?
Is he a local radio host in Buffalo? He sounds like a moron.

Is it snowing in Hell?
As an aside, NFL Network analysts picked the Bills as a probable team to make it back to the playoffs. Their #1 was the Bucs, but I think the Bills were 3rd on their list.

Until he takes an interview from someone credible, where he provides why he is jumping into this now, and the extent of his personal issues, I'm not taking an opinion on him.
I know he's out of work, but he must be rich with everything he has done, and just because he is not on CBS, does not mean someone else in the sports network will not pick him up soon.
He could end up on the NFL network, Mad dog Radio, Fox Sports, NBC Sports, and so on. He was a decent analyst on Sundays, and fair minded in his opinions. He was the best in his day, just didn't have a great defense and run game to take him to the SB. He had the quickest release in football.
Dan Marino to withdraw concussion lawsuit against NFL: http://www.sun-senti...,0,395274.story
Interesting find. Thanks for posting. This will take this story away.

This is BS.
Looks like a National Enquirer type story.

Just a heads up guys as I missed the EJ interview. They are going to discuss recent news on the sale of the team, and on knucklehead Dareus's arrests.
I won't be able to listen if anyone could post if anything interesting comes out, vs. just the same old recycled info.
Thanks.

I wish someone listening were able to let us know the interview was coming. The opening drive usually let's you know multiple times when those interviews are coming. As an aside, Ross and Bob do a very good job in these interviews.
No big deal and thanks for sharing.

Agreed.

I don't know if anyone read the Toronto sun article from this morning, but it was interesting that even the Bon Jovi group should agree to place the Bills in NF forever as a solution.

1st - A HUGE Thank You for the locker room bulletin board!!!
Isn't it funny, regarding the Bills, USAtoday sez: Sammy Watkins needs time to adapt. So will defense, which lost Jairus Byrd and is changing scheme. Again. (3-13)
Regarding the Dolphins who need to replace 4 of their 5 OL-men: O-line chemistry typically takes time to achieve, and Dolphins had to replace 80% of their unit. (8-8) (Huh?? FIVE more wins?)
Can you say "Double Standard"?
Hey, we're in good company - other 3-13 teams: Bucs (no lie), Cowboys, Vikes & Raiders!! Jags, Lions & Chiefs are 4-12!!
Wow this guy can't even get it 'out of the infield'. Listening to/believing this blather means you're soft in the head. The guy has no clue of which he speaks!
It's funny if you or watch other real NFL analysts, they predict the Bucs have the best chance to make the playoffs from a losing season. The Chiefs I think will not repeat 11-5, but they are not going 4-12. This guy does not know the NFL. To predict the Bills at 3-13 is ridiculous. If he wrote 7-9 to 9-7, I can live with that prediction, although I think we have a real chance at 10-6.
I hope they keep this article in the locker room as was said earlier all year.

My rank order choices.
1. NF
2. Downtown
3. Tear down Bethlehem Steel on the water.
-
They have a good defense, but Geno will make dumb mistakes and we'll have a short field. We will split or sweep.

fans should start a class action lawsuit for concussions against the NFL & Buffalo Bills.
for involuntarily banging our heads against a wall.
So true.

Now that Dareus made another knucklehead decision, I'm starting to see the original post point of view. With this second arrest, I just see Dareus imploding at some point.
Kevin Williams is 33 so if healthy, he can be a stop gap for 1-2 years. It's a shame a #3 pick can underwhelm his first couple of years and now is getting in trouble with the law twice in one month.
I still contend Finley would be a nice addition to the team.
-
Dareus can't be any dumber. After just getting arrested a couple of weeks ago to race through Hamburg. Regarding Marrone, he is not responsible for Dareus being a knucklehead.
Information we really want at this stage of sale process for Bills

My guess is the most serious suitors are keeping it very quiet. We'll see.
