Present I already mentioned Glenn, but past is Talley.
He'll never make the HOF, but was the heart of that defense back in the day. He's never discussed outside of Buffalo of one of the better LB's of his day.

Agreed. I am sorry they were treated in the manner described, and pressured on the calendars, etc. as to looks, just google the jaguars, Bucs, dolphins cheerleaders. You tell me if they are comparable in looks.

JJ is a numbskull. I just don't know how someone can be a Cowboys fan knowing nothing will ever change as the owner can't get out if his own way with his arrogance thinking he can run other businesses, the business of the Cowboys, and be the GM.
They'll be lucky to hit 8-8 with that defense. It's hard to believe McClain has recommitted himself. His heart was not in the game.

For me it's Bradham. I believe Preston Brown is suited for the mic as a development behind Spikes. We need Bradham to develop in the Wil as he has the speed, but how well does he cover in the pass.
Oh, and please cut TJ.

I hated the navy blue unis, so glad we went back to the way they look now. I'm fine with using the red helmets for a throwback or two. I'm almost positive the Steelers helmets for throwback are a different color from their black ones.
If they really cannot change the color and someone has a link from the NFL, then I get it. Now if EJ used it to his advantage, then I'd change to red in a heartbeat.

These posts that he only had two good games is ridiculous. He was excellent in coverage. His knock is he just wasn't big and strong enough to play the mic as guards in run plays can push him around. His skills made him perfect for the Wil, with spikes as our banger.
He's definitely going to be missed and will hurt the team. I don't blame him as these things happen. To say he was out if shape is also foolish. You only get hurt in June if your out of shape. That infers you haven't spent much time in the gym.
In 1999 I was going back to repeat in the US Championships in powerlifting in the best shape of my life, and tore my ACL. It just happened as I did everything I could including stretching, warming up, wraps, etc.
Now that's just one example, and I don't know if he was in shape. Neither does anyone on this post unless you are personal friends with the guy, or workout with him.

It wasn't one punt. Just admit the whole reason you don't see him as competition is you never heard of the guy, as if you ever hear about punters when they come out of college
I know I don't. I have no idea what is the talent coming out of college in punting as it is not important to me soma valid point. Moorman was an excellent punter for us for years, not only in distance and hang time, but directional punting and back in the day, those sneak runs when he was quick. It is time to move on and thank him for so many good years.
I hope your right, and I would expect us to pick someone up or maybe two for camp and see if we can get younger. Since we are trying to build a ground and pound type team, with a massive line, and solid defense, punting matters. Shame on me for not looking into the talent at all. If we get a boomer, it will really help the team.

Merriman, I'm sure this was a good post as you have lots of good thoughts, but there are very few people that will read that thread. Not knocking you. Just sayin. Can you bullet point some of your thoughts?
FWIW- if your comments are that we will improve this year, I believe your right.

The O Line should be better, the RB's have more depth, and we added talent to the defense, as well as a DC who knows how to stop the run.
EJ showed sparks. Time for him to put it together these next two years.

You have a lot of options, but from your post I would go get him the "legend of Kiko", or you go classic and get him a Kelly jersey. If he's old enough, he'll know how special that one is to Bills fans.
I don't want to break your bank as that can get expensive. Root hard for us partner. We'll need it, but know we can beat them if we play our game. They are horrible against the run, and we are next to the best.
Our secondary will be challenged that day, but hopefully our front four makes it very hard on Cutler. Their O Line is avg at best, and we need a huge day from our front guys.

My point was on his football skills. I hope for Browns fans he does well. Personally, as posted before he will have a tough time winning in this league.
As far as the Vegas trip, why does anyone care. If I were 21, just signed for millions, and had a weekend off, why not go out and have some fun with friends. He didn't break any laws. It's a real reach to say he has a problem with alcohol. How many of us tailgate on a sunday? How many of us in college or our first years after college before we met our wife went out and had fun.
Now where he is just plain stupid or has no situational self awareness, is that video cursing, the money, etc. Then his approach in response to the media is silly. Welcome to notoriety. Do you think movie stars like the paparazi? Deal with it. Say the right things, and don't post dumb videos. If you notice, no one cares Gronk was there. He's known as a fun guy, but also has shown when not hurt as one of the top 2-3 TE in the league.
I don't care if he signs marketing deals so he can drive in his own revenue early. Why? what if he can't make the transition? Make your money now like Quinn from ND did in his rookie year. Just don't try to be a lightning rod by flaunting it.
That's my two cents on this one.

EJ is going to get three years unless he is absolutely abysmal. I'm rooting for him. As to the playoffs, it is on him, and I think we take a big jump this year.
Regarding the other QB's, Brady is Brady and he won't fall off for years. With these new rules, he almost never gets hurt. Maybe someday the Bills will get that kind of a guy in a late round pick. RT holds the ball too long (See the sacks on him against us last year), Geno was atrocious last year, and Vick went 2-4 last year, and 3-7 the year before. He's done. You can't say the Eagles were a bad team as they had their starting line, considered one of the best healthy all year, and Foles comes in with an insane QB rating.
He is so underrated. He'll do well again this year.

I don't remember his change of direction as good as Welker. He was a great ST player though. He'll never make the HOF, but glad he was on our team.

I think the best bet would be to dress EJ, Thad, and Dixon- stash Tuel on the PS...
I've never seen Dixon play, but Tuel is practice squad material.

I'm already sick of hearing about JM. I don't think he will be an excellent NFL QB. He would need to learn how to go through his progressions, too small, and NFL defenders are faster so he can't just run on plays.
The Browns knew they were losing Josh Gordon, knew this was the deepest WR class in years, and they go after a CB. They already had a decent defense and needed playmakers on offense.
I have nothing against the Browns, and hopefully for my Ohio buddies am wrong. NFL Radio hosts keep touting how much better Pettine will take this team. I like Pettine, but he is going to take a step back in offense without Gordon, and JM will be a sideshow.
Personally, I can't wait to see JM get hammered by one of the top pass rushers or LB's when he's on the run. I would love to have Suggs mic'd up for that game "Welcome to the NFL Johnnie Football". That's not against the Browns, I just don't like JM for a variety of reasons.

3rd and 12, that's explainable although I was thinking similarly. In his interviews as well as Hackett and Marrone. He had so much thrown at him he was thinking too much, not reacting. He SHOULD know the playbook this year, and they should open up the offense.
I'm cautiously optimistic, and he does have an extra pre-season game to get his timing down with the WR/TE and RB's.
Not that you are, but for others, I'm not ready to throw him under the bus. I expect progress this year and a stud next year. We need our defense and running game to keep us in games with a middle of the pack passing game. If we can just move that passing offense into the 14-16th ratings, we have the potential to be #1 in the run this year. Hell, we certainly have more than enough backs, and a big, athletic line.

I'm sick as a dog so stuck watching Law and Order reruns, and checking out everyone's posts. We have the other thread on overrated Bills players, so why not place the opposite.
Come up with some decent ones. Mine is still Glenn. Allowing only 1.5 sacks last year with a crappy LG next to him tells me we have a Pro Bowler if he were on another team. No one nationally will notice him until we get a high powered offense. He could develop into one of the Elite's in the game.
Love to hear from the crew, so if your bored and stuck at home, let the posts go.
