  1. like I said on another thread, being a bills fan is a neurologic condition and doesn't get better each year until you absolutely know they are out of it, adn then you can get pissed for months, before you get excited again to then be let down again the next year. For all of the pollyeanna girls out there, it's over. If we can't beat these guys, how are we going to do against the AFC Elite.

    God this sucks!!!

  2. I swear being a Bills fan is like a neurologic condition. I continue to catch myself telling my sons, well if we get past the colts through a punishing running game, and sound defense, we can beat the Jags, Rams, and the telling game is the Seahawks in Toronto. We can definintely beat the Jets at home as they are imploding! Then my wife pinches me and tells me to get back to reality (she has been suffering through my delusions for over 12 years), and realize I'll be throwing pretzels at bonehead coaching moves and lackluster play this week.

    Am i alone here?

  3. There is no comparison in that Polian was the most important part of this organization including players, coaches, front office. I state this as he was the architect of three winning franchises in Buffalo, started the process of Carolina, and Indy. He had the vision to create winning teams and hit more than he missed. I'm still a fan of Nix and you can't pin 2010 on him as he did not make all of those calls. He was just comiong into the organization. Now on 2011, we'll see, and what I look also to is Nix picking up people like chandler, and Barnett. He is good for this organization in building from within with a line in Urbik, Rinehart, Hairston, Glenn, and Darius, and so on. We can all agree a miss on QB with missing on Dalton, most likely Wilson.

The next two years will say alot. Does he pick up value in special players, use free agancy effectively, and focus if possible on QB, WR, TE, LB, and CB? That is a tall order and will take two years of drafts and FA, to create a real competitor. I'm a much bigger fan of Whaley, and Nix, vs. Gailey and Wanny. I'll give it to anyone in a miss at coaching. Wouldn't you rather have a guy like Nolan as our HC from Atlanta. The thought of Gruden, Cowher, is a pipedream. The real problem is of course the instability at ownership. Ralph passes, we get our lease worked out, keep Toronto as the regionalization project, and one of these Billionaires in NY to keep the team here, and things will continue to progress positively for Buffalo.

I just don't have confidence Ralph will make the right choices as hx dictates he will blow it up again every three years until he passes. I'm etenally grateful Mr. Wilson brought us a team, and kept us here, but the last 12 years goes on him. That is our real enemy!

  4. I agree with the Dalton comment. That was a huge miss. He played 4 years in a pro style offense and had broken all kinds of team records. Gilmore, Glenn, and I think Graham will be good picks. I also see with development and maturity Bradham becoming a starter. Lastly, will Brooks turn into a starter at some point. Now years past taking Troup over Gronkowski, and other dufus moves is beyond me.

  5. Remember by that game the O Line for the Bills were people we were taking off the street as we had lost so many to injury. Ross Tucker of the morning drive for the NFL Radio was just talking about it a week ago or so, and he was playing for us at the time. He remembers one guy we put in the line up we just picked off waivers the week before.

Besides, we had such an easy schedule that year we would have lost in the first round anyway. Now the loss to the Titans whn we had an imposing defense because son of bum puts in Rob Johnson over Flutie was so stupid. That bothers me as the Titans as you remember went to the SB. Those days of Spielman, Washington, Wiley, etc was fantastic in terms of run and pass defense. We could have stipped the Rams.

  6. Previous FO Allowed to Leave:

    Antoine Winfield

    Nate Clements

    Ted Washington

    Macelus Wiley

    Pat Williams

    Jabari Greer

    Marshawn Lynch

    Willis McGahee

    Jason Peters

    Jim Leonard

    Donte Whitner

    Paul Pozlozney

I know I'm missing a couple, but everyone knows the point. I'm not a Gailey fan anymore, and Nix doesn't own the 2010 draft so in two years, 2011, and 2012, I see a better talented team than before. What noone seems to want to admit is we decimated a team over a decade and it will take years to rebuild. The only reason I belive to keep Gailey is if he had a QB, and a solid WR, could he do something special with the Bills. I don;t know i fit is his talent he has or his lack of skills. You can't make a SB team with B talent. Has anyone seen how good Mike Williams looks in Tampa now that they have Vincent Jackson? Can Buddy retain Byrd, Levitre, and the rest of the guys and build on it in the next two years. I hate waiting, but maybe we do have the right mgmt and maybe I'm wrong and we do have the right coach.

What everyone looks at is stories like SF. What they don't want to look at is a good FO that picked guys like Willis who with the right coaching made Harbaugh's job managemable to make a winning team. That doesn't take anything against his skills. What I'm saying is we had probably the weakest talented team in the NFL and will take 5 years to create a winning team.

  7. This team lost because of sloppy play with penalties, a bad fumble from one o fmy favorites in freddy, and lackluster defense again. For once, we blitzed a bit, but really we threw deeper than we have in weeks, and ran more. Fitz had a good game and as Graham admitted when it was on the damn line took the over vs the under route.

I'm hard on Fitz, but this game he played well. I too want a QB, but there are lot of people to blame befroe him. Too bad as beat them and the titans adn we're still in it.

  8. Thanks for the you tube link. It brought a tear to the eyes thinking how much I took them for granted when we were winning all of those years.

Talley is by far my favorite Bill of all time.

As far as these buffoons go, we're not even close without a QB, WR, TE, LB, and most of all coaching. Your right on the TN game. We had to win that one. The colts are better than people thought and the Seahawks are going tom punish us. I love my Bills, but we just are still in a rebuild after a decade of horrible FO decisions in player and coaching selections.

Nix will need to two more solid drafts, and at least a couple FA acquisitions, and keep the guys you've mentioned like Byrd, and Levitre.

As far as today, can Brooks be an upgrade over Williams and crew. I want us to win and continue to pray each week, but I just don't see it.

My vote is hire Mike Nolan as head coach and keep Nix and Whaley.

  9. This also tells me make sure to look with more scrutiny in the second round like Andy Dalton (a 4 yr starter with a pro style offense and numbers off the chart). We chose the wrong rifle, not the Amish rifle (he needs to have his scope fixed as he is way off), but the Red Rifle.

This is just one example. I like Russell Wilson as well. There are more examples over the last decade. Thank god Buddy is finally calling out Fitz as he keeps our defense on the field way too long.

  10. I like Gruden and he lives close to us in Tampa. His problem is he had too much influence in management here. Gruden is a good coach with a strong front office staff who can handle him.

He also needs a guy like Monte Kiffin who ran his defense with authority. That guy is sorely missed down here. He was the Wade Phillips of this league down here.

  11. The Bills do suck! The coaching is HORRIBLE, play is even worse, and I hate the Jets, but am rooting for them now. patsies just scored a FG in overtime, so go J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!

It's adi'm watching this game saying, wow I wonder if we'd be better with Sanchez. That's pathetic.

I actually was getting delusional thinking, well if we did trade a 3rd and a 5th for Dwayne Bowe, we probably would be much better with two top WR.

Then I watched again today and realize we could have Andre Reed, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jerry Rice back there in a 4 wide set with Barry Sanders, and Shannon Sharpe, and they still would SUCK!

  12. We're ranked 32 out of 32 defenses! How do you think Wanny's doing? I just can't get over the lack of scheme and coaching. What must drive some of these guys crazy is watching a team like Seattle which is not that much better in talent on defense, just aniliate opposing teams.

Our CB outside of Gilmore are horrible. Williams is a bust. He's had enough time to evaluate, McGee when younger and healthy was solid, but not so much now. Mckelvin is also a bust except for the return skills.

I thought we were getting closer but we can't keep missing on these drafts and then rid the solid guys after their first contract who are solid.

  13. I guess my conundrum was answered whether to root for the Bungles, or just accept they won't beat good teams so just let them tank and enjoy another high draft, Buddy on the hot seat so he'll grab a good free agent, and we rid ourselves of Chan and Wanny.

The problem is what decent coach in his right mind would come here?

  14. Guys Chris Johnson is running for under 3yds a carry as it's been reported he is too tentative and looking for the home run hit vs. Explode through the hole and take the 5 yes as every once in awhile you get the big run.

    We win 27-21.

We certainly need it as I predict losses to the Texans and Cheatriots. If we walk out of that stint 4-5, we have the easier part of our schedule. What I'm debating is do I really want to see us 9-7 or maybe in a fantasy world 10-6 just to see a winning record, knowing we are only beating weaker teams. We can't hold a candle or a jockstrap to the elite teams in the NFL. The other way is just lose a bunch like always know we are finally getting more talent, and with another good free agency and draft be a real contender next year with oh, by the way the same front office but a different coaching staff.

I'll give you an example, the Bucs have a similar record at 2-3, but for anyone who really follows the Bucs, their new coach is turning their attitude around into a nasty defense, and a more explosive offense. I know the comments already on his bonehead last second play with the Giants, but overall he has been thE best thing for this team. They have an attitude and playing like the Seahawks right now. We need that in creating the right atmosphere in Buffalo. I can see more of our players getting that swagger like Kyle Williams. If 11 guys on our defense played like KW, we'd be winning more games.

  15. This talk about another QB, I get, but we're not getting one. Guys, Mike Williams in Tampa looks excellent again, because they have Vincent Jackson now and there are two threats. We could definintely use D. Bowe if we could get him. I doubt we could, but if we could trade a 3rd and 5th, I'd take in a heart beat. WE could still use a 1st on a QB and even trade up with another pick to get a better QB as we are not that far away. The problem is I don't see a good QB on the horizon in the draft next year. There are no Andrew Luck's, RG3, Cam Newton's, or even an Andrew Dalton. That was our BIIGGG MISS. We should have taken Andy Dalton. He was in a pro style offense, played 4 full years, I think was close to undefeated, and had excellent pocket presence. He should have never dropped to where he did last year.

  16. Didn't you hope our D was going to play with that physicality, and then we ended up with the same lame effort. I know they played a little better last week, but man Seattle went toe to toe with the toughest team in the NFL.

If everyone played like Kyle Williams on every play in our secondary and LB's, we'd punish our opponents.

As to the game, I love a slug fest.
