I agree with PTR we can beat Chicago. Their defense was horrible last year and they lost Peppers. The key is can we hold back those WR? I think Spikes can hold Forte to under 100 yards.
As far as the season, I'm hopeful for 10 wins. 11-12 is a reach. There's no way we beat NE at the end of the season.

Your right. Both of these guys will be fine. I would like to see both of them shed some weight working towards a build more like Suh. There is no need for the extra 20 lbs. around the middle as it will gas you in the third and fourth quarter when they are trying to run against you.
It's funny how a guy like Kyle Williams is 6 years older, and never once did you ever worry about him showing up out of shape. Lastly, good point on Branch before. He chooses to miss all of the OTA's and then shows up out of shape.

Lastly, the court ordered counseling is from just that, the courts which is standard in domestic violence crimes.
The NFL nor the Ravens can mandate counseling as it is not in their CBA. It's what the players agreed two years ago and stands for 8 more years.
It may not be right, but it's a fact. The issue is there should be some type of change negotiated in the next CBA. This goes towards drug abuse as well as some of these issues. Someone like Josh Gordon really needs to get into an extensive rehab facility to dry out, and work on his issues. His issues go beyond just wanting to get high every once in awhile.
Lastly, there is speculation Goodell was lenient with Rice as he's been in the past a model player and good in the community for 6 years. I'm not taking this opinion, just sharing what is the speculation.

wherever you stand on the number of games deserved, i feel like i have seen a lot of false equivalency issues in the discussions (ive seen both comparisons to gordon who is a 3 time offender in a negotiated drug system, and also incognito which exposes the nfl to workplace issues).
Exactly on Gordon. That was my point. It's comparing apples to oranges. Gordon follows the strict substance abuse policy which is spelled out in the CBA. Now Incognito although different due to harassment still falls under the personal misconduct policy so you can in essence compare the two as they fall in the same bucket. One can argue the merits of what is worse and what should be the punishment, but they are still under the venue of personal misconduct.
Roethlisberger got 4 games I think.
Actually I think it was 6....
It was 4. I'm positive on that one, as the buzz was how the back up was able to get them to come out 3-1.

I like SWAT. They could play the old song every time he scores ( da da daah, da da daah, da da daah, ba dah bum da bum bum ). I used to love that show as a kid.
Megawatt is too much of a copy, and he's nowhere near the size of Megatron. It doesn't fit.

If they had games on Friday at 2 o'clock you would get 7 people at the game rather than 23.
I laughed at that one. My buddy goes to the minor league team for the Phillys here in Clearwater, and on Tuesday nights it's $1 beers and $1 hot dogs. Even if they made it $2 for each, you'd fill the stands with at least 10,000 drunks.

Agree and that came out wrong. I apologize for that. What I was getting at is that we have proven our worth as a passionate NFL market. We do not need to feel like we are not good enough for the team. There are a lot of teams around the league that would love to have the passion of the fans. There are a lot of owners that would love to have the profitability of the Bills. We absolutely deserve the team and we need to believe that. I apologize again for not being clear.
KJ - no worries and nice to see more civility on the posts lately. I guess Buffalo Bill's recent reminder helped some to tone it down. I don't mean you as you usually keep things above board.
Regarding the sale of the team, I haven't been that worried about the possibility of a move. Your argument is valid on the passion of the fan base, but my reasoning sticks around economics. It would simply be too expensive for a team move, restrictive due to the lease, substantial increase in TV revenue coming in one to two years ( that is the expected increase, but there will be more as whoever bids next year on the full year of network TR night games will add even more ), so in the end Buffalo will be very profitable with a dedicated fan base, and a state trying desperately to keep the team.
Even if it were the JBJ group, I still believe they will keep the team here. Now the lynch pin is the state having an iron clad agreement with substantial stadium money to lock up the team for 25 years, added to 2023. That seals it.

Let's keep it civil. The OP and the mods all have to make judgement calls on whether a new thread is to be opened.
BB - agreed and can see both sides. It is hard to keep up with all of these new developments so hard to just keep following one thread.
This is much about nothing for the guys. Would you not think their group would explore all options. With that said, I have no trust in what they say. They are just being thorough in their research to see what is their best option.
Now PEGULA, please make the homerun hit bid and put this to bed. I think blood pressure medicine companies are increasing their sales from all of this hype.

It will be fine. I'm sorry Goodwin has sickle cel. I hope he is fine health wise for the rest of his life. If the worst thing that happens on the Denver game is we inactivate him one game every 4 years, I'm not worried about it.
I hope he's fine.

I can understand how the fans feel. I was in Cleveland last year for a week for meetings with work. Talking to some of the other locals at the hotel at night for dinner, you can hear the vile they feel for Modell.
On the other side, I looked into it, and Ohio was somewhat screwing Modell out of upgrading the stadium, etc..
He proclaims he couldn't be profitable there. Then from the fans side, they watch their team go off, win a SB in 3 yrs. and have a mostly a winning franchise in Baltimore for years.
Then again, they did get a team, a new stadium, and their losing ways like ours has been poor mismanagement, coaching, drafting, poor choices for free agents, and so on.
I'm happy for Cleveland getting Labron, buzz from Manziel, a more talented defense, and I think Pettine will be a good coach. I commented recently how happy I was for the city to finally have their team possibly on the right path.
The urinating thing is disgusting. That should never happen. Modell was actually one of the true innovating owners in the NFL. He broke race barriers with Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and so on. He was instrumental in the original TV deals and revenue sharing. He was one of the innovators for MNF. He's done a ton for football.
Even with the Cleveland bad blood, he should go into the HOF for his contributions to the game for 50+ years.

I was listening to NFL Radio this morning on the way to the gym, and some good points to consider. You can't compare conduct issues to the substance abuse suspensions as they are two separate buckets.
Per the last CBA, the union and NFL greed to black and white policies for violations and this is broken out to PEDs and other substance abuse violations. It goes from warnings, to 4 games, one year and so on.
So what everyone should look at is what was the personal conduct violation and how does it compare to others. The more relevant comparison is Big Ben getting 4 games for the lawsuit against him for possible sexual misconduct, that was never prosecuted, to Ray Rice getting 2 games for hitting his wife and he is getting punished for his actions.
You guys probably know of other pure misconduct issues, and was the punishment fair comparable to others. The two games is ridiculous for his behavior. I don't care if he marries her. This should still be a minimum of four to six games and the checks that go along with it.

You can't fix stupid!!
Love that bit from Ron White.
That young man needs some help. If anyone could use a Tony Dungy for a mentor ship, he could.
-
Do you think that was a weakness of Kiko as a rookie also?
That was going to be my point. We will see the loss of Kiko against the pass, but he was beaten up by Guards against the run as he was just not big enough and made for the Wil.
I think Preston Brown could surprise people with his speed, and coverage skills. He's definitely stronger and more powerful than Kiko so we could be stout against the run.
It would be fun to shut down the Jets so they have to pass as we can watch Geno get picked 4 times a game.

Nice to read some positive press.

LOSE Man
Fredex
Super Mario
House Ballard
Stone Hedge (Bledsoe)
And of course, Machine Gun Kelly! I'm a little biased though.

Too bad. He was even better in MN. He was an excellent target for Favre when they went to the NFC championship game.
Hopefully he saved his money and invested well.
-
I love how Sapp (assclown and sorry I don't normally curse on the site, but he is such a fool) is all over Dareus, yet I've seen him report to camp with a gut every year. Dungy would hide it and run his butt off every camp. I'm not defending Dareus, as he is stupid with all of this other bad press, compound matters by showing up overweight. He'll lose it, and be out there in a week.
Funny how Branch Did the same thing, but we're not hearing about him. They should run both of these guys in suicides for everyone to watch until they can pass the conditioning tests. A little humble pie is the best medicine for anyone coming in not ready to play.
-
The conversation is moot until we see what he produces as well as what Brown, Dixon, and Jackson produces this year. We'll know towards the end of the year whether we would resign him, and at what price.
-
He was the man. for the guys too young to see him live back in the day, i still remember the pancacke tackle of hostetler in the SB in the first half against the Giants.
He was so disruptive.

Let's give in to the idea for a moment that EJ isn't the guy. Did the Bills miss an opportunity with another QB? Listening to Schopp pretty much throw EJ (and Marrone for that matter) under the bus today, I started thinking about what other options there were in 2013 and 2014.
Nassib? Bridgewater? Geno Smith? Would you be any more optimistic with these QBs on the Bills right now instead of EJ? To me EJ was the best from an apparently weak class. But also keep in mind that 80% of Bills fans wanted a QB taken in 2013.
So the Bills got EJ and the feeling was that at least the Bills are taking a shot. We even got EJ plus Kiko by trading down. But a year later and good feelings are gone. What if we waited till 2014? No Sammy but Manziel at 9? Bortles? Would we be any more guaranteed success with those guys?
My point is the Bills really didn't have much choice but take EJ and go all in with him. There was no other QB that was a consensus franchise player in either the 2013 or 2014 draft. Would you have stuck with Fitz for two more years? Sign a free agent? If so, who? Vick? Freeman? Sanchez? How about any QB from this list of 2013 free agents?
Again, not only was there no sure bets at QB in either draft, there was no quality free agent QBs to sign in 2013 or 2014 either. So it was going to EJ any way you slice it.
PTR
Amen. Everyone has these hindsight ideas, but there was no one. If you go back farther you can bring up Russel Wilson and Andy Dalton. That's it.

Sherman is a good player but i would take Patrick Peterson or Joe Haden over him any day
same. pp just doesn't have the mouth, but can play inside / outside plays in space, returns kicks, and even threw for a touchdown last year. he is this generations deion sanders.

It is time to be patient. He can turn this around. I'm really disappointed in this latest development, but it still screams patience. It's not that easy to find a talent like this guy.
If he doesn't change over the next two years then we can say goodbye. Now is too fast.

My daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with breast cancer, so I've been under the radar. She begins chemo Monday, so please send prayers.
astrobot - Omg , I'm so sorry. As you probably know, this is treatable if caught early. I promise my family will say prayers for her.
God bless buddy.
Football is an after thought when it comes to this stuff.

Darryl Talley happened to Bruce... I'm sure that he had other factors that allowed the light to go off- but Bruce admitted that Talley was a huge influence
Cletus- you're right on the money. Smith needed Talley, but he responded well, and had a tremendous HOF career as a result. I am starting to get concerned on Dareus. I see his talent, but he has to fix these commitment issues to his sport.
You have to say to yourself, " do you not realize your interviewing for the second contract?". He could realize a fantastic payday, and set himself up for life, but he has to do make tHe right choices. He has Kyle. I'm sure he has Wood, and others advising him, but it's up to him.
For those that made comments he can get in shape in two days failing the conditioning test, that doesn't happen. He needed to work his butt off for months getting in great shape, and could be something special.
JJ Watt never had to be told to get in shape. Neither did Justin Smith. Grow up Marcel. Lots of people had very bad things happen to them. Deal with it and prepare like a 3rd pick overall.
You make the call. First play of game.

The old statue of liberty play. Can't fail. Oh, that's right, they're not playing flag.
Hand off up the middle. We're about as exciting as a geology lecture.
