I take note of the two previous posts and apologize to BB. It was outside the bounds and the way I usually participate. He is entitled to his opinion without casting personal insults. Again, I sincerely appologize to the Barbarian.
No problem big guy. I always have a lot of respect for a guy who can make an apology as it shows character. Besides BB is a tough dude. He can take it. as far as Washington, if you don't think he's HOF material, I can see your point. I loved Big Teddy, but don't know if the Hall will ever consider him a person who transcended the game, and changed it.
Living in Tampa, I know down here they all think Simeon Rice, John Lynch, and Ronde Barber should be first ballot guys. I can see Barber and maybe Lynch, but Rice I doubt gets in. anyway, John and BB, have a nice Sunday guys. Enjoy the game tonight. I know I'm recording it.
Your nuts on your Kyle Williams comparison to Warren Sapp. I dont even like the guy(Sapp that is) but he was absolutely dominant and played the game with a passion and desire to win and was a major part of the culture change in Tampa Bay, your out of your mind if you don't think he was HOF worthy
Sapp is the biggest A-Hole I've ever met, but he did belong in the HOF. I watched all of his games and he penetrated like nothing I've ever seen from an interior lineman. He's the reason the cover 2 worked so well as Kiffen relied on interior pressure for that defense to work. As much as I'm a big fan of Kyle Williams, he does not disrupt the offense like Sapp used to do in the late 90's and early 2000's. That defense was up there with the Ravens and was more consistent than the Ravens for over 10 years. For 10 years straight they were a top 10 defense, 5 of them top 5, and two seasons rated the #1 defense in the NFL.
I agree with you 100%. I watched Ted intently, and I saw Mawea knock him back once. If you ever watched Mawea, he was one of the best centers of all-time. It is remarkable how Ted dominated him. Bruce Smith called Ted Washington the greatest run stopper of all-time and he kidding or exaggerating at all and I agree.
Ted is in my top 10 Bills of all-time even though he is not a career Bill.
A guy who really could beat double teams (not draw, beat) with some consistency. Ted was a, "cheat-player". Someone so good we could move a player to overload a side or double-team another player. Washington had both gaps for certain.Cheat players are very rare. Ted could also collapse a pocket for a crucial play. And I mean just cave it in on the snap. A great, great player.
If we had Ted during Jim Kelly's hay-day we would have won superbowls. There is no doubt in my mind.
Go Teddy!
Go Bills!
Excellent points. I couldn't stand Jeff Wright, and thought at the time they should have kept Smerlas as he was an awesome run stuffer. Big Ted would have probably put us over the top in SB as no one could be able to run on us, placing even more pressure in the pass making Bruce pin his ears back. I wonder how many sacks he would've had if he had Big Ted next to him.

Aside from the sub host flubbing the opening. it was a great piece. Between Andre's speech and the OTL lines piece I've cried more tears in two days than I have in the last decade.
Amen brother. My Kleenex box had a workout this morning as I fell asleep last night, and watched the speech and the Kelly piece back to back.

Most teams keep 8 lineman, and some 9. You can expect Williams, Wood, Glenn, and the others are really competing for a starting spot, but just about all of them will make the team.

Please stop it! Your HOF comments regarding Washington are even more zany than your lofty view of John Skelton. Being a homer is one thing but not being grounded to reality is cause to have someone from the mental health profession forcibly dress you in a straitjacket. Again, just stop it!
John, take it easy on BB. Please don't make this stuff personal as it's just his point of view. I believe Smerlas was an excellent NT for us as well as TW. I'm not sure if they will ever be considered for the HOF, nor Tasker. Maybe, but it will be a stretch. The most likely is Polian as this new contributor role takes place each year, but he'll need to be out of the league for another 3 years. What he did with a down organization in Buffalo, started a new organization and built it up quickly, then breathed life into Indy was amazing. I look forward to that day as Mr. Polian is true class, and love listenting to him on NFL Radio, or watching him on ESPN.

This^^
If Pegula is the new owner I do not see immediate change. Obviously, EJ's progress or lack thereof plays into this in a huge way. The current regime has placed all bets on EJ and they will stay or go with Pegula on the basis of his play.
I was thinking the same point that if it's Pegula, and I believe it will be Pegula, as long as he sees significant progress this year, he won't clean house.

Thanks for posting that interview. I saw it yesterday, but was fun to watch again. I'm happy for Jim as he looks good, and must have felt so much energy coming into this week. That was a neat comment from Rich Eisen they had to move the enshrinement ceremony to the stadium b/c of Kely's induction. Idid not know that, but doesn't surprise me at all.
Don't ever tell me we do not have the most loyal, best fans in the NFL.

Guys, go to youtube and you can search for it under "Andre Reed Hall of Fame Speech". There are some clips with excerpts of the speech, but I found the whole thing. It was 43 minutes including Marv's intro, up to Jimbo's toss to him at the end.
If you didn't shed some tears last night, well I don't know what to say. I must have needed the tissues several times. That was the best speech since Jim's with his son.
I just loved how Boomer started it off with "No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills" My god, there had to be 15,000 fans there.
Now that they have a contributor category starting next year, Bill Polian should be a first ballot guy for his 30+ years building up three teams.
God, I'm ready for some football. Go Bills!!!!!!!!

- Fredex, Kyle Williams, and Eric Wood without a doubt. Watch and listen to the vitriol especially Wood and Williams have after significant losses. They are this team. Now we need a winning synergy on offense. i'm so sick of us as anemic as we perform on the offensive side of the ball especially in the pass.
- I still hold out for high hopes this year with additions on the line and WR. to watch 3 and out as much as we've suffered for over a decade is so embarrassing.

1988 Fandemonium. I was on one of the goal posts like a thousand others.

Thanks bud. Definite DVR.

T Peg if granted ownership would come in as either the 4th or 5 the wealthiest owner in the league. The NFL owners like singular owners, not groups. The only owners with a greater net worth would be the Glazers (Bucs), Ross (Fins), Kronkie (Rams), and Allen (Hawks) in that order to the top.
If his bid is solid, everything points to his ownership. He also has a significant investment in upstate NY overall so the state should be willing to pony up more dollars for a EW stadium.
I'm going to remain delusional that he will get this bid and not get caught up in all of the scares of other bids.

Better bring a good supply of body bags!
Love the 1st Blood Reference Col. Troutman ( you forgot, "One thing's for sure" )

To our Canadian friends, no worries. We love you guys and never ever has anyone I've spoken to bashed the fans for the Toronto scare.
We just love our team as deeply as GB And Pittsburgh. To think of us housed somewhere else makes us sick to our stomachs. I'm with PTR in that I don't see any buzz to get the team inToronto from the fans there.
I still believe we'll be under Pegula soon and this will all end soon.
To our buddies to the great white north, keep coming down for the games, have fun, and enjoy your CFL as I know you guys love it more than Americans understand.
JBJ can go to hell!

It's a gamemandmit's not like it was Kiko. I'm glad I've heard he's made progress. We're going to play nickel and dime a lot in this game. I really like our secondary, but we're going to have to double those WR and they have an excellent TE.
The key to this game is our offense vs. their defense. We improved talent wise, but will it be enough to stand toe to toe with those offensive weapons?

Gillmore has a ways to go before he's in the category of Peterson. That guy is my favorite corner in the league. He plays inside, outside, can shut down just about any WR, returns, has a pass catch for a touchdown as a WR, and so on. I think he also threw a pass on one trick play.
I'm just waiting for him to kick a field goal.

15-20 but with a really high YPA
I anticipate 3 new starters on the O-Line to start the year and that assumes Glenn is back by then. If I had to guess, Chris Williams at LG, Hairston at RG and Kouandijo at RT. I like Cyril Richardson also but I wasn't ready to go with an all rookie right side.
An interesting question is, in the unlikely event that Seantrel Henderson manages to not get kicked off the team and actually plays up to his ability, do we then consider kicking Glenn to LG.
My response to that question is no. Cordy Glenn allowed only 1.5 sacks last year. You don't move a proven product for someone who looked ok in camp. You force Henderson to prove himself somewhere else. As to the original question, it's hard to give a general answer as it depends on each defense we oppose, and are we playing from a lead or behind. I expect in a perfect world we target about 25 times to throw in a game, but when we play the Jets, we may throw more as it is tough to run on them, whereas with the Dolphins, we'll run it down their throat.

im not sure he has the temperament to be a HC. It is perfect for a DC though!
I agree. Someday when another team is desperate if he produces as I mentioned above will give him a try. He'll probably produce the same as he did in Detroit. It's not that I don't like him, and believe he will produce as a DC, he's just not a HC.
Kind of like Greg Williams.

Really.....a late round drafted guard is a total screw up by Whaley?
7% of 5th rounders start in the NFL. A 5th rounder. How can anyone say it is a huge screw up? He's trying to bolster the line. He may be thought of having great moves if Koundjou and Henderson eventually start on the team. This also would be a good draft if Watkins is the next AJ Green, and Preston Brown becomes an awesome LB.

Congrats, Cash!
What a great way to celebrate.
If it were me, I'd try to see if you could get a party bus. They have specific lots they park in and stay the entire game. They also let you bring whatever you'd like along. That way you don't have to worry about a DD. It could be pricey, but you're only getting married once (or so we hope!). You can probably find one to arrive earlier that 10 a.m. Either way, best of luck!

Ditto Cash, and enjoy the wedding. You don't really appreciate the wedding day until later. Whatever you do, don't have one of your guys drive. Even if you don't do the party bus, you could rent an RV and pay someone to drive you.

@salmaiorana: My story on the comeback of offensive lineman Chris Hairston who is back with #Bills http://t.co/kQTfPqE4fE via @DandC
Thanks Yolo. I missed this article so appreciated. One comment in the article is we could keep 9 lineman instead of 8. The way our guys get hurt, I hope we keep 9.
Oh, Cordy, please come back. I'll bring you a 4 pack of Mighties to get you on the field.

It's simple. He's a knucklehead as well as Branch, and did not workout enough especially his last month off to make the windsprints in the required time.
FWIW, I would have liked seeing both of these guys run suicides on the sidelines until they were in shape or threw up. Hell, my wrestling coach did that to us when we had a bad meet. He'd run us until guys were puking in the garbage can. You learn real quick to stay in shape and give it your all.
Sorry, but I have such little patience for a professional athlete who is being compensated to be in top shape. Dareus has carried extra weight since he came into the league. I've never been a fan of D Tackles who carry that extra tire. It only helps you to get gased in the 2nd half of games. It sucks as this CBA allows players who are lazy to not be in the shape they need to be in to compete. The stars are not going to get cut. Most players keep themselves in shape, and the marginal guys have to do so to make the team.

The dude is retiring isn't he? The guy was guaranteed 6 million from the Bucs this season. But he wasn't able to play, so they settled with him on the money so he could retire.
This was a huge mistake for Mark Dominic, the previous GM for the Bucs. Tampa fans are so mad at this guy as he fleeced the Bucs for 13 mil over the last two years for playing avg for 9 games. Yes, you are right, he left due to a career ending turf toe injury that just would not get better. We should have picked this up in the physical, but Dominic was so desperate to put a winning team together, he made this mistake.
He was in his prime probably the best RG in football. He did have MRSA, but it resolved. If it didn't, he would be dead by now. That is a nasty methylicillan resistant gram positive skin infection that if not successfully treated can lead to sepsis, which means the infection spreads to your blood, and results in death. Mo bring this up as it is resolved just like I believe three others who contracted the infection from their training facilities. The funny thing is the facilities at One Buc Place are state of the art, very clean, and absolutely beautiful.
What an enormous disappointment. You guys know what a Bills fan I am, but I also love my Bucs. I'm just so glad we have Lovie again, and have real high hopes for the Bucs this year. The Bucs made a lot of moves this off-season like the Bills and there is a real buzz down here.
So please everyone, before you want to kick tires on someone, look into why he is not at a team. I'm so glad we are not going after old retreads. It doesn't work.
Go Bills!

God he made an ass of himself that day. Looking at the back slap in retrospect was not that bad. This notion he'll have a head coaching job in one year is premature. He avg 6-10 for 5 years. Lovie Smith was successful, went to one SB, Jim Caldwell went to one SB, and so on.
I believe he will be here at least two years. For him to get another nod, he'd have to create a top 5 defense for two years in a row and the Bills make the playoffs for two years. If they get there with a dominating defense, he'll probably get another shot as 7 coaches get fired on avg every year. You know Garrett is a dead man walking.

They continue to make evasive comments. For his sake, I hope he is ok.
What do we do with Henderson?

There is a chance they keep Hairston and dump Richardson. I'm not sure if he lost the weight and is in shape. He was 15 lbs too heavy so we'll see. I can see him going to the PS. Then again, they may move on from Pears or Urbick. Hairston if healthy can play either tackle spot, and is working out at guard. The thing i wonder with him is will he stay healthy with the back. A back issue for a lineman is cryptonite. Ask ross tucker who's now on NFL Radio.
Lastly, SJDK, were you doing your "Jimmy Two Times" imitation from Goodfellas. "Get the papers, get the papers"
