I don't remember his change of direction as good as Welker. He was a great ST player though. He'll never make the HOF, but glad he was on our team.

I think the best bet would be to dress EJ, Thad, and Dixon- stash Tuel on the PS...
I've never seen Dixon play, but Tuel is practice squad material.

I'm already sick of hearing about JM. I don't think he will be an excellent NFL QB. He would need to learn how to go through his progressions, too small, and NFL defenders are faster so he can't just run on plays.
The Browns knew they were losing Josh Gordon, knew this was the deepest WR class in years, and they go after a CB. They already had a decent defense and needed playmakers on offense.
I have nothing against the Browns, and hopefully for my Ohio buddies am wrong. NFL Radio hosts keep touting how much better Pettine will take this team. I like Pettine, but he is going to take a step back in offense without Gordon, and JM will be a sideshow.
Personally, I can't wait to see JM get hammered by one of the top pass rushers or LB's when he's on the run. I would love to have Suggs mic'd up for that game "Welcome to the NFL Johnnie Football". That's not against the Browns, I just don't like JM for a variety of reasons.

3rd and 12, that's explainable although I was thinking similarly. In his interviews as well as Hackett and Marrone. He had so much thrown at him he was thinking too much, not reacting. He SHOULD know the playbook this year, and they should open up the offense.
I'm cautiously optimistic, and he does have an extra pre-season game to get his timing down with the WR/TE and RB's.
Not that you are, but for others, I'm not ready to throw him under the bus. I expect progress this year and a stud next year. We need our defense and running game to keep us in games with a middle of the pack passing game. If we can just move that passing offense into the 14-16th ratings, we have the potential to be #1 in the run this year. Hell, we certainly have more than enough backs, and a big, athletic line.

He's an ass clown. God he was awful on Sunday Night Football.
I could really care less on the Bills fan comment.

Thanks Kirby. Excellent points on McKelvin. I guess the story is the same on the other Williams (Aaron).

I'm sick as a dog so stuck watching Law and Order reruns, and checking out everyone's posts. We have the other thread on overrated Bills players, so why not place the opposite.
Come up with some decent ones. Mine is still Glenn. Allowing only 1.5 sacks last year with a crappy LG next to him tells me we have a Pro Bowler if he were on another team. No one nationally will notice him until we get a high powered offense. He could develop into one of the Elite's in the game.
Love to hear from the crew, so if your bored and stuck at home, let the posts go.

My head hurts from this thread. Wow, we are all reaaaalllllllyyyyy bored today.

You'll feel welcome just about anywhere. Bills fans are very welcoming. I do agree on Hammers.

Respectfully, I disagree. Gailey could still be an OC somewhere, but just not a head coach. He knew what we had on the team in terms of our line, RB's and Fitz's limitations.
He tried to use Spiller with a spread offense and somewhat porous line, and a Qb that is only accurate up to about 12 yards. I was ready to move on from Gailey, but can still appreciate what he tried to accomplish while here.
Marrone is more fortunate in that he has more talent, but he has picked mostly decent coaches especially this year.
Bite me. Couldnt care less if I get banned. These boards are a waste of time anyway
If they are a waste of time, then just go away. Kelly 83 is decent guy from his posts, so obviously you don't read these threads.

Can anyone a remember a season where we didn't have hurt RBs somewhere in the middle of the year. We'll see all four guys this year. If Brown comes in for CJ and can run better up the middle, we've solved our contract extension problem with CJ and he walks. He'll be motivated to get that contract extension so he'll play as hard as he can.
We'll see. I still want Father Time to finish well with a great year. My favorite Bill since Talley is Fredex.

Funny I was just talking to some dudes last night and I said the best fan bases in the league are Green Bay, Kansas City, Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh and those are the exact top five of this ranking.
Oh I agree. I remember back in either the late 80's or early 90's SI had a poll of current NFL players at that time, and they rated your above teams as the best fans in the NFL.
Some things don't change. We've proven that still rooting for them after the last 14 years.

I kinda think CJ. National media is always yapping how we need to get him "20+ touches per game" kind of thing, because "when healthy" his YPC is "X". Problem is he's simply not healthy enough to be counted on. Unfortunately the concerns about being undersized have been more or less validated to this point in his career. Of course I hope the trend reverses and he stays healthy all year, because in this offense his production will be unlimited.
Hence why they picked up two more backs this off season. They are prepping not to give CJ a huge payday, and Fred can only last so long. It's funny how they picked up a banger up the middle in Dixon, and CJ like player who can be explosive with Brown.

sorry, we already assigned you dogness. please submit his first progress report by the end of july.
Now that's funny.
In all seriousness, I try not to write disparaging personal comments, but sometimes I make mistakes. What I love about this board are intelligent posts with interesting comments and providing other research, or information that helps all of us.
I get the sarcasm, and believe Marrone will be a good coach if he gets the chance. The obvious fact is he will be here if EJ turns into a solid QB. Whaley did a nice job adding talent to what Buddy started. We had nothing for mgmt and coaching prior to that for a decade.
You mentioned Brunell's comments, and I enjoyed listening to him yesterday. He was a solid NFL QB, and would know better than us if he trusted Marrone.
Another interesting comment the other day from Ross Tucker was about free agency and how with the exceptions of Manning and Brees which were anomalies, how it is impossible to get a QB in free agency. He stated "if the Bills or Browns ever had a chance at a Manning or Brees, how many playoffs would we have gone to in the last 5 years.

I hope we keep him for ST, and when we want big packages. He plowed the way for FREDEX several times and helped us get thr tough yards.
-
Guys, your going to love him on the field, and hopefully his knucklehead days are over off the field. He should push Woods to our #3, if he plays at all like what I watched in Tampa for four years.

Those look gross.

I don't know why Mark Davis doesn't negotiate with the 49ers and just share the San Jose stadium. My home office was out there so I've watched it being built for the last two years. It's in a beautiful town (Silicon Valley). The NFL has shown they can do it with the Giants and Jets. It also is cost effective as you double the usage of the stadium, and just share the profits. Davis would simply need to put up half of whatever Jed York did for the stadium.
Just like the Bills LA situation, if the owner doesn't have the juice to fund a stadium, no team is going to LA. That state is perpetually bankrupt so they won't build a new stadium for a team. I still think it will be Kronke. He has the land, and I believe tied for second (Stephen Ross is the other) richest owner at a net worth of 5 Billion.

I'll worry if this were the case at the end of August. It's June. I think EJ could have come to the rookie camp ( electively) if he wanted to do so. That would be if true his only mistake.
They'll get their timing down.

Yeah I wish Sammy was our running back to.....
.....oh wait....I want Sammy to be our tight end to.....
oh wait......
....while were at it I wish Sammy was our linebacker to.....
oh wait......
Does Sammy kick field goals?
No but he has a great directional punt.

I believe if the Bills are good enough to make the playoffs then they are good enough to win it all.
Very little difference between a playoff team and a Superbowl Champ
Did you watch the SB last year? There were not many teams that could hang with Seattle. SF, Arizona, and that's about it. You can't tell me Seattle is no better than San Diego, or KC.
Now I would agree with you there are many teams that could beat each other from the playoffs. It comes down to a few plays. BIll Polian was asked about SB 25 last week on NFL radio and he commented that game came down to three plays and they went to the Giants. He dais it had nothing to do with Belicheck's defense.

No way. I grew up in Southtowns and Hoax is still awesome on the lake. I used to look at that place so many days as I went to St. Francis.
Blasdell Pizza (either location) is awesome as well as Abbott Pizza in South Buffalo.
Don't forget to eat lots of Mighties, and get a beef on Weck with pickles. There was a place in Orchard Park that was fantastic, but I can't remember the name. I haven't lived there in 23 years, but always get my list of food from family when they come to FL to visit each year.
As long as I' m on a roll, go to Ted's for a hot dog, and drink lots of OV splits. You can't get them down here. Lastly, make sure you buy your Webers horseradish mustard as you can't get it anywhere else.
All of this talk about Buffalo food makes me think what I'm going to do with my boys when we go up for the game. We fly up once a year for a game and it's awesome.

The NFL top 100 is such a popularity contest among the players. There are multiple guys on there are living on their previous years success. No one even really talks about it anymore.
It's silly Byrd will most likely not make it yet he's considered one of the top 2-3 free safeties in the league. I know we have four defensive players, but so what.
Glenn isn't on the list. That's a sin. That's why I don't pay attention to it. I did the first year, but now that I've seen the list for a couple of years, it's just filler for the network when nothing is going on in the NFL. Even the topics on NFL radio are a stretch these days.

Interesting article. I still like when a team builds around a punishing defense, a pro bowl offensive line, and a strong running game. Seattle did it, and we are working on this type of team. We might not be pretty, but we can win.
I can't wait to see Dixon with Summers leading just pound over Wilfork for a goal line touchdown.
I look forward to seeing a healthy CJ bounce outside of Glenn to beak off a 40 yd run. And yes, it will be fun for Sammy to make a couple of really play, aker type catches for big chunks of yds.
What if EJ Is Really Good and Stays Healthy?

EJ is going to get three years unless he is absolutely abysmal. I'm rooting for him. As to the playoffs, it is on him, and I think we take a big jump this year.
Regarding the other QB's, Brady is Brady and he won't fall off for years. With these new rules, he almost never gets hurt. Maybe someday the Bills will get that kind of a guy in a late round pick. RT holds the ball too long (See the sacks on him against us last year), Geno was atrocious last year, and Vick went 2-4 last year, and 3-7 the year before. He's done. You can't say the Eagles were a bad team as they had their starting line, considered one of the best healthy all year, and Foles comes in with an insane QB rating.
He is so underrated. He'll do well again this year.
