He's only 27. Peyton Manning didn't win his first playoff game until he was two months shy of 28. Manning was 0-6 in his first six games against Brady; Allen was 3-3 in his first six against Mahomes.

I have my issues with how the team has been constructed since he was drafted, but let's not get crazy about any window being "wasted" or dwindling.

Patty boy (I’m Irish so we always end of converting Pat to Patty), you’re correct as this is media hype hot take crap.  We now have a solid O Line, good RB, two good TE’s, one of the best most exciting QB’s in the league on offense, and contrary to what people are saying, a true #1 WR.  On defense other than most likely letting Hyde and White go, we have excellent LBers, a DL worth extending some, amd decent CB’s.  We still have one last year from Poyer.

So yes,we need possible two WR’s, a Safety, and some DL help.  We have 10 picks in the draft so we have enough ammunition as long as Beane picks well.  Contrary to some scammers who get on this board, Beane overall has done a good job.  Some people just have no patience to allow a player to develop.  Case in point is Bernard.  He looked suspect when he played a little his rookie year, but was excellent in year 2.  Spencer Brown was decent in year 3.

Well, why not both?  NYC presents that opportunity that Wilson could act as third string backup for either the Giants or Jets.  Sort of a temp agency QB. 🤔

    🤨

    🙄

At least in the old days, I knew my Hess toy truck money was backdoor funding the Jets.  Now it's my Imodium purchases. 😁

    Burn, Jests, burn. 🔥

Couldn’t agree more E-Man.  The Jets will always be the Jests until they have new owners.  Some owners just  Don’t know how to get out of their own way.  Jerrah is another.

For Wilson’s sake, I love the idea of him becoming the backup for the Giants, and with the way their QB plays and gets hurt,  I’d love for Wilson to come in and win three straight.  If anyone can get a lot out of him, Dabbs can do it.  I know they had a crappy year, but their fundamental flaw is Daboll forgot what McBeane did.  They made the playoffs by accident in 2017, but purged old talent and bloated contracts to remake the Bill team.  6-10 as everyone knows taking their lumps drafting Allen and Edmunds, turned into 10-6, and that’s only because they had nothing to play of in the last game with the Jets.  If we played the starters we would’ve been 11-5.  That was a mistake as they lost their rhythm and it showed in that loss to the Texans.  You guys know the rest in 13-3, 11-6, 13-3, and 11-6.

Daboll needs to follow the playbook, purge bad contracts, buy a line like the Bills did and keep working the problem until they have a solid O Line.   They also need a QB.  Jones is t going to get it done.

Correct.  The only thing lacking is that all candidates should be required to dress in costume, and sing a song on 'The Masked Singer - NFL - MVP' special.

I have no problem with Allen not winning it.  I don't think Lamar deserved it though.  Everyone pretty much knew for a month it would turn out this way.

Granted Lamar threw a lot less TD’s than Josh, but he did deserve the award.  That’s in my humble opinion.   I also think Flacco deserved comeback player more than Hamlin.  It was miraculous Hamlin came back, but he was a backup Safety.  Flacco was the 4th QB on the Browns and turned the team around halfway through the year at age 38.

    Is Baltimore in the Superbowl?

Did anything believe the Ravens would be in the SB??

    Nope

MVP and the other awards are voted on after the regular season.  So many misunderstand as the playoffs has nothing to do with it.  Lamar deserves it for his season.

  7. Does it count if I was in the parking lot across the street from SB 25?  I just moved down from Buffalo 6 days before as. I was starting a job and grad school at USF.  Across the street from the Old Sombrero was a then Tampa Mall.    They put on the side of Macy’s a huge movie screen.  97 Rock had these Vans that had as loud is the actual stadium, and when we or they scored, you heard to roar of the crowds, we were that close

There must have been 250 urinal along the perimeter of the parking lot.  We arrived at 8 am and we’re early so we put up our lawn chairs and four cases of beers for 6 guys.  The only bad news is all five of my friends were Giants fans. I can’t blame them as almost of them were originally from so,e were downstate.  My fraternity brother who failed out of Oswego as he had a little too much fun there.  I basically inherited his friends and they welcomed me with open arms.

It was awesome.  None of us had the $ to afford a ticket for the game. Heck I had just graduated from Oswego, and I graduated early as I was taking 18 hours a semester.  We had a blast and was a bit happy if you know what I mean until Wide Right.  That was brutal.  My friends only mildly teased me.  It was worse as they demonstrated pity.

Anyway, that’s my closest to a SB attendance.

  8. He’s in too deep with his contract the next two years so he’s going nowhere.  This is all gossip and reading into things that aren’t there.  He’s pissed, that’s all.   He should be.  He went invisible amd he had less targets to him. The real answer is he needs help at WR, and he gets it, he gets less double teamed and will start producing again.  Beane can’t move on from that contract, and neither can Diggs.

Yes, the Bills first one in Tampa and the fourth one in Atlanta.

Funny, I moved to Tampa 6 days before and never left.  I was a poor college grad who could never afford that one.  ThTs when it was relatively affordable.  Now I have the $, but the Bills haven’t been there in 30 years.

  10. Neva.  The only reason I’d go is for the Bills and in the early 90’s, I was a working class guy.  I can afford it now, but unless I know we’re there I would rather see from my couch.  I don’t even go to parties anymore as I want to watch the game undisturbed.

Rex is a variation of the Rooney Rule.  He represents the Rummy Rule.  Ticks all the boxes:

    1. Famous Football Father.

    2. Has brudder who can also contribute.  Not so much to the team, but local merchants will love them for stupid commercials and restaurant endorsements.

if stupidity is a minority, Wrex fits the bill.  I hope Dallas hires him.  I just wish we could play them next year.

Not in this order, but as of today if the Bills keep all 9 picks…

    WR(2)

    S(2)

    LT(1)

    OC(1)

    DE(2)

    DT(1)

Of course, FA could turn the list upside down.

We have 10 picks with the compensatory.   The athletic makes the assertion we won’t restructure a bunch of guys and extend some players.

    Primary Needs

    1) 1, maybe 2 explosive receivers.  Need to replace Davis and could use a legit downfield threat.

    2) Defensive End - Lawson, Floyd, and Epenesa are all FAs.  They think it will be a challenge to bring both Floyd and Epenesa back.  I don't think either will return.  Regardless, they suggest getting someone this draft to split time with Miller and takeover for him in 2025

    3) Defensive Tackle - Jones, Settle, Ford, and Phillips are FAs, leaving only Oliver as a returning starter (or contributor for that matter).  They think a Day 2 or early day 3 draft pick will help fill the void.

    4) Safety - They should have drafted someone last year to learn from Hyde and Poyer.  Could this be the place they spend some FA $?  Even if they sign someone, Hamlin is the only depth behind Poyer.  They need to draft someone.  I think they need to spend 2 draft picks on safeties.

    Secondary needs

    1) Offensive Tackle - Brown & Dawkins are FAs after next season.  They need better depth here even with Van Denmark on the roster.

    2) Center - Morse is an FA after next season as well.  He is also 32.  Time to draft his possible replacement.

    3) RB - Beane likes to draft RBs.  Cook is all the team has right now.

    Tertiary needs (need depth only)

    1) Cornerback - Benford and Douglas are the starters.  Neal, Elam, Taron Johnson, and White are under contract for next season.  They like the idea of bringing back Dane Jackson or Levi Wallace as cheap FAs for added depth depending on what happens with White.  Also drafting someone late.

    2) Linebacker - 4 LBs under contract.  They need a 5th LB and that can come from a Day 3 pick or getting an FA for special teams.

    3) Punter - Do they bring back Martin? They have to decide well before the draft.  The article suggests signing a priority UDFA getting him on the practice squad for 2024 and replacing Martin in 2025.  Why not just re-sign the Punt G-D?

Why don’t they just write replace the team?

  14. That game was an embarrassment, but even so I almost hate more the music city debacle.  That was a forward pass, but we handled it so poorly in kick coverage.  It was heartbreaking and a major disappointment.  Flutie should’ve been in that game vs. Johnson.  He brought us to the playoffs and Ralph gets cute.

  15. I’m sorry to hear it so young.  76 isn’t old these days.  I loved him in Force 10 from Navarone with Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford.
