  1. For those of us at work, if any of you are watchng, could you please post a brief synopsis?
  2. Yep. http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/360469.html
  3. I don't know if I agree with the logic, considering the media has been down on the Bills for a long time, and we haven't made the playoffs. So now they like the Bills and we think that will also cause them to miss the playoffs?
  4. To paraphrase, the witness said the truck ran a red light, hit the girl, slowed down for a second and then took off.
  5. No. The point is that when someone posts something like this, and the chorus ramps up with the insults and emoticons, one of two things happen. You feed a troll or you insult a n00b fan, who maybe doesn't understand why many of us would perceive that as a rookie question.
  6. Not giving change to the homeless? I might vote for him just based upon that.
  7. Get some cheapies and you might be able to cover half of the cost by scalping your ticket to MNF.
  8. 'Ting' - BOOM!
  9. Top Secret
  10. Interesting analysis, but I would argue that Clinton is so polarizing that there is no way a republican leaning swing state would go her way in the general. Granted, I don't think Obama would do any better, but I think Hillary would mobilze Pub's more than Kerry did in '04.
  11. I can imagine that someone who invented the "Earth Sports Fortress of Pantheon" would need their ego stroked.
  12. Shame. He was brilliant.
  13. You just keep telling yourself that...
  14. No, it isn't a good point. This "message" you refer to doesn't exist.
  15. He moved into a place in Williamsville a few months ago. Not sure why this one is just coming on the market now.
  16. Not many guys make it to the NFL without having a good work ethic, so point taken.
  17. Another "take it for what it's worth" post: I was hanging out with a buddy recently who knows someone in the organization that was in the Bills war room for the 2007 draft. According to this guy, Ralph was hot on Wright and no one else was including Levy. Fast forward to mid-season last year, the same guy relates to my friend that Wright's work ethic was very questionable and everyone was down on him. If that stuff is true (again - grain of salt here folks, it's someone on the internet telling a sotry that was told through a friends friend) I wouldn't be suprised to see Wright as a camp cut.
  18. No, not really. But I still read it occasionally, and it still riles me up. Their reporting on just about anything is dubious. I will never forget the article that chastised fans of metal and hard rock for "liking the way it sounds" as if there are far more compelling reasons to appreciate MUSIC. Fair enough. Assuming what was reported wasn't all total exaggerations, it was kinda reminiscent of Scientology.
  19. Taibbi is a sad Hunter S. Thompson wanna be. I'm no fan of wacko evangelicals either, but everytime he writes about something he begins by insulting the subjects which immediately removes any notion of neutrality. You know 2 lines into the story what his conclusion is going to be. It's not journalism, it's OpEd.
  20. This weeks comic at Penny Arcade seems oddly poignant: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/
  21. Believe me, this one is a contender. It was pretty bad. At the same time, it was a watchable, mildly entertaining movie. Just not a good Indiana Jones movie. The story was weak and underdeveloped. Spielberg asks audience to not only suspend disbelief but also common sense (see: Nuke scene). CGI is great in movies, but it can't replace good writing. Just because you can make an impossible situation possible by manipulating pixels doesn't mean you get to avoid any sort of plausibility in the scene. Oh, and Ewoks. Well, not really, but close enough (small furry CGI animals save the day ). If you see the movie you'll know which part I'm talking about.
  22. Tom kinda sums up my thoughts pretty well, at least in the belief that Obama will be more likely to unite. McCain doesn't really scare me per se, but I'm just not convinced that he is capable of doing anything remarkable in terms of taking the country in the right direction. Policy-wise we kinda know what we are getting. I don't think either will stray too far from their particular party lines. I think Obama might be the better choice from the 'green' perspective in funding research to help our addiction to fossil fuels. Don't get me wrong, I'm no global warming alarmist, but the political climate (no pun intended) is ripe to get more dollars into R&D for more efficient and cost effective solar collection, fusion, and better batteries. I think that being the leader in this kind of tech will (for a while anyway) keep us near the top of the food chain. If it happens to be better for the environment too, so be it.
  23. I just don't understand the hatin' on Howard. I can understand why people don't like Schoop. He seems to despise the Bills and can be quite rude to callers that simply disagree with him.
  24. Have any links to stories substantiating any of that? As far as I can tell the only public comments he has made about NASA are that he wants to delay one program and divert funds to education. But he similarly supports other NASA programs. Same with his chatter vs. website. I don't see anything there terribly out of whack (or at all?) with what I hear him say in campaign speeches. That being said - I don't really expect too much from any politician, so when I see one who seems to lie on a full order of magnitude less than his opposition, I'm at least intrigued.
