Because war is confusing and terrifying. People have to make split second decisions while scared out of their minds and holding loaded weapons. I wasn't there of course, but I think that's a reasonable guess.

Hopefully we'll intercept them all in time. I'd be shocked though if there's not at least one or two stabbing incidents in Europe. They seem to get those on average days.

Or it's basic statistics. Given any population of people, "women and children" make up about 65-75%. As a group, they'll account for the most of just about anything from tooth decay to civilian casualties. Hell, reduce it just to "women" and you'll still have a majority.

There haven't been any significant attacks in the last few days. Don't get me wrong, they are a huge threat and we need to ramp up our offense as well as our defense (both are lagging) but nothing significant has occurred.
