  1. It's their land as much as where you are sitting right now is probably Native American land. Where do you draw the line, i.e. how far back can you go? The answer is you can't otherwise these types of conflicts will never go away. The palestinians need to step up and recognize Israel, stop openly supporting terroroism, and Iran needs to stop it's dangerous rhetoric. And you are fooling yourself if you think there would be any conflict if Jews worshipped allah. It's all about the deities.
  2. Well, looks like 2 were arrested with a possible 3rd on the way. Interestingly the defense claims that 2 of the 3 were not at the party when the dancer was present, and state they have records of commercial transactions to prove it. They were right about the DNA... Also, there are desciptions of the photos taken by one of the party-goers here: http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=local&id=4091290 Assuming those descriptions are accurate, it would seem that the accusers story seems a bit flimsy, especially when you combine that with the fact that she was spotted passed out in someone elses car, and then didn't claim rape when she was initially interviewed at the hospital. It's hard to imagine what case the DA thinks he might have against the guys. But I guess that doesn't matter. The local community seems to think that they are guilty, so I guess that's good enough for me. Stupid affluent white kids.
  3. Gasp.... you mean the Jews wanted their land back??? If you think Islam is friendly towards Jews, I suggest you take a look at the Koran.
  4. Heh... truest thing I've heard all week. 8 years in bar/rest business taught me that.
  5. Beer doesn't go well with straws. That is really besides the point anyway. It shouldn't be about finding a way to look less akward. People just shouldn't act like a 6th grader when they see someone with a physical impairment.
  6. Let me make sure I understand this, she acted inappropriately and unprofessionaly toward a paying customer in her place of employment. I let her know that I saw her, and somehow this brings me down to her level? I don't know how many times I need to state that I didn't lose my temper. For those of you who think I overreacted, fine, its your opinion. But replace my name with your mom's and see if you still think it's all that funny.
  7. Like I mentioned with the spitting thing (which I know was a joke) I wasn't looking to demean the waitress. I didn't lose my temper (visibly anyway). I just felt the managment should know that their wait staff was doing such things. I'm not sure if the yahoo article on treatment of wait staff was for my benefit, but this was hardly akin to having sorbet spilled on a dress. One is an accident, the other is unprofessional conduct, aimed at a paying customer. In a sense the article has no bearing on this particular situation.
  8. I'm gonna miss the chicken wing soup. Maybe that can be my revenge, I'll get the secret recipe!
  9. I was using fat people as an example of sorts, not trying to imply that it was ok. I just figured that everyone at some point in time could relate to that because most people have probably had a laugh at an overweight persons expense. Most people would not do it right in front of that person though, as it is pretty rude. Having worked in a number of restaurants, I've heard plent of jokes about the fat lady who orders everything on the menu and then gets a diet coke. Not a nice thing to say, but I also never heard the jokes made in the dining room or within earshot of said customer. I'm sure the manager blew me off for a few reasons. First, admitting that your staff did something wrong might require him to take some sort of action (comp'd meal or chastising the waitress). Secondly it would mean that he had to take the word of an irate customer over his staff, which is not always a good thing. I would never spit on the waitress or do anything that would bring me down to the same level, so I did the only thing I could. I would like to give credit where crdit is due though. After leaving Danny's we went to Adam's Rib. When we got there they said we would have to wait for a while for a table, which was no big deal. But the owner saw me in a brace, came up and said he was in one for a while, and understood what a pain (in the neck? ) they are to deal with. He did everything he could to get me seated immediately. The food and service were impecable, and the owner came by the table twice to make sure I was comfortable. Now, I wasn't asking for any special treatment, but this guy went out of his way to ensure my comfort and a good dining experience, so I figured I should give Adam's Rib props for a job well done.
  10. H could be talking about an internal splint. I had a similar surgery two years ago to remove a tumor in my sinus as well as repair a badly deviated septum. The splints were like 2 little (actually they were f'n huge. When he removed them it reminded me of total recall) plastic surfboards that came out about a week after the doctor removed the packing. Once they came out everything felt fine. I can't say just how close what you are having was to my surgery, but I had it on a friday, and was at a Bills preseason game on sunday. Good luck!
  11. I had a cervical disk fusion operation a few weeks ago which requires that I wear a hard cervical collar for a few weeks. About 2 weeks after I had the surgery, I was mobile enough to go out to dinner with my parents. We went to Danny's and asked for a table, and told the wait was about 20 minutes, so we elected to wait at the bar. While I was having my first beer, I noticed a couple of waitresses chuckling as one was putting on a display that was clearly mocking the way I had to drink. She was pretending to hold a drink to her face and tilt her whole uppoer body back, whie not bending her neck, which was exactly what I had been doing. I was a little put off, but figured I could have misinterpreted what she was doing, and just hoped I didn't get her as a waitress in the fear I'd be tempted to leave her a bad tip undeservingly. As I got my second drink, I spotted the same waitress again, this time with a new crowd at the waitress station, making the same motion and carrying on, but this time she went so far as to point directly at me (I suppose it could have been the Quick Draw screen behind me, but I have never seen a video keno machine with a bad neck and a drink). In otherwords, what she was doing was unmistakeable. I got pretty pissed this time. I abruptly told my family that we were leaving (their backs had been to the waitress station) and on my way out I walked up to the waitress and said "What, do you think I'm blind too?" and judging from her sheepesh reaction she knew exactly to what I was refering. On my way out, I decided that I'd go back in and explain to the manager or owner why his establishment was losing my business. He brushed me off saying none of his professional staff would do such a thing and I was clearly some kind of twit. This made me begin to wonder if it had been an older person or someone with a real disabilty, would this lady still have acted the same? Was I overreacting or are this waitress and her cohorts just a bunch of insensitive jackasses? Have any of you ever made fun of a fat person whie you were at work? Would you do it in plain sight of your target?
  12. Oh, I just wanted to bump this to say I told you so. Now I'll tell you how I knew. Milloy (as well as Willis and Joe Burns) is on my Xbox Live friends list. Around January, Lawyer changed his logo from the Bills logo to a standard NFL logo. Burn and Willis kept theirs the same. I would presume that Levy and co. probably gave him advance warning that he was off the team.
  13. I would just be satisfied if Scraps stopped saying "tractors".
  14. I rarely do, but this is just madness. Our elected officials are to worried about looking racist and losing votes, and not worried about the health and well being of our nation. It's time to say enough. I just emailed every one of my contacts with Schumer's and Hillary's contact info. If you folks want to be heard, here are the links. It only takes a few minutes: http://schumer.senate.gov/ http://clinton.senate.gov/
  15. How many of you are willing to go to a counter protest? How many of you have written your senators? (I emailed Chuck and Billary today... why not do the same?) Bitching on an internet forum is fun, but unless you speak up, you will not be heard.
  16. Why not provide an armored exo-skeleton to every soldier? We can do that, right? Why did no one complain that Jeeps and Deuce's in WW2 didn't have enough armor? I'm pretty sure that even an MP42 could have torn up a Willy in a few seconds. Because it's war, that's why. You can't protect every single soldier without compromising your goals and becoming completely ineffective. Yes Scraps, we know you are not in favor of the war or the current administration. What you have also demonstrated is a lack of knowledge on the subject matter. This is essentially an non issue to most of the troops, and has been blown wildly out of proportion by the media. The notion that the "right wing" is actually in favor of making a warzone less safe is preposterous, and is nothing more than a fabrication.
  17. I don't know if a team would trade for Moulds right now. Every knows he wants out and that with us signing Davis, he is a bit more expendable. Most likely, an intersted party will just wait for him to get cut. It would be nice if we could get a pick for him though...
  18. It is the money. He has to pay for all of them babies somehow...
  19. You beat me to it. He demonstrated last season that leadership, by far, is not his best attribute. My prediction is that he leaves, goes to another team as a #1 receiver, but is out-played by someone else, and will be relegated to second by the end of the season. But hey, why should you listen to an idiot like me, who halfway through typing this post realized that he has been wearing his Battlefield 2 communicator headset all morning for absolutely no reason.
  20. For f*cks sake not again. Is it necesary to waste so much time flaming someone for making a prediction on a message board? So what if he is lying through his teeth or not. Why people get so worked up is beyond me. How often does ESPN or SI report that their sources within such-and-such state 'X' and then a week later the reality is revealed as 'Y'? They are the supposed professionals, and through advertising, we pay for their services (in a roundabout way). Does everyone flip out when they f up?
  21. I wasn't referring to anyone specificaly. My original point through all of this is that the majority of writers, pundits, fans, etc., thought MW was a good pick at number 4.
  22. I'd like to see the posts from Apr 02, to see where everyone stood on our picks at the time... It's real easy to say something was a good or bad decision in retrospect.
  23. So by your logic drafting a RT made no sense and left tackle was locked up, which would mean no McKinney either. Tell me again why you are trolling in the Williams vs. McKinney thread?
  24. I didn't see a smiley, so I'm not sure if you were joking. Another Roy Williams was drafted by Dallas with the 8th pick in the 2002 draft. http://www.infoplease.com/ipsa/A0903232.html
