  1. It could be that Holcomb is getting the reps with the 1st string this week to prepare him for possibly going in, with Losman being on a very short leash (1st half maybe?). Players could be interpreting that Holcomb practicing with the 1st team implies he's starting.....Or maybe the coaches have been off on a week-long bender and the players are imrpovising... Frick, who the frick knows...we'll find out for certain in two days! Unless they friggin send someone out there wearing a blank jersey and a mask... Nothing would surprise me at this point. Okay, well, maybe Flutie starting at QB would be surprising, but only because he's playing for another friggin' team!
  2. That's the problem: hunting's a dying art. More deer are killed by cars during hunting season than guns (let alone bows) these days...When I went to school you'd nearly have enough kids "out sick" on opening day to close the school...Never did it myself, but appreciate those who do for helping to keep the roads safe... Still hunting season brings back fond memories... of this song: http://members.aol.com/quentncree/lehrer/hunting.htm
  3. Testify, brother. They won't be the LA Bills, they'll be the Mexico City Bills.
  4. The cheeseburger plate was quoted as being unhappy, but understanding of the move. Good plates, good folks, good talk. Only thing bad was the weather. Go Bills!
  5. running, yes, but probably away... As to the original question, he has been keeping a very low profile (for him at least) of late...I know Tom's "President" and as such de facto voice of the Bills but I've gotten used to scathing comments from Ralph when the stojan hits the fan as it has of late...
  6. Did she recently swallow an alligator?
  7. But what if I have the "last word" on the issue...?
  8. Happy Birthday! And never forget: Captain Mcgillicuddy rules the seas!
  9. Do you think maybe they'll trade Cassell to us straight up for Losman?
  10. I think, based on the last home game, that the "3 hours" refer to the time before and after the game.
  11. Considering that the problems are primarily due to the line sucking and their poor run/pass ratio, I would say yes. Maybe he's trying to treat the 5 hunks of swiss cheese up front that it doesn't matter what QB is behind them... and quite talking sense. You obviously didn't have to swerve to avoid sky on the road on the way home from work today.
  12. There is a baseline, somewhere around 40. The way the calculations work, if you just made it through the game with no completions (and no interceptions), you end up with that baseline number. Interceptions would take away from that baseline, and they cost pretty severely overall. Manning was 4/18 for 27 yards in that game, with 2 interceptions. Net result: 0.
  13. Yeah, like at the top of the page..
  14. ...and he improved by the end of the year. His first 4 games he had a 39% compl. %age, 450 total yards, 1 TD and 6 interceptions. In his 4th game (Baltimore), he managed to get a QB rating of 0.
  15. ...and JP Dumont scoring the first goal of the NHL season... I also hear a bunch of former Sabres were there as well...
  16. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a Pats fan yesterday, and we were talking bills/pats. So he says to me whos your new QB and I tell him Kelly Holcomb. He says to me....wow, your best QB ever was named Kelly, and so is this guy! There's no way you could lose! Never thought of it that way and it struck me funny and I hope it's true lol.
  17. Perfect time for the hockey season to start. And, hey, if the season's over, why not switch to that young kid at QB? Get him some good experience...I mean Holcomb hasn't done anything as a starter yet...
  18. Don't worry...we'll draft one with our first round pick.
  19. At the time that Coughlin inserted Manning into the picture, Coughlin was convinced (at 5-3) that they were out of the playoffs, so he handed the reins over...or at least that's how I hear it...
  20. Boreanaz was his birth name (spelled it wrong the first time...his son still uses it). He was Dave Thomas in Buffalo. Don?
  21. None of this sensible talk here. As the wise man once said "Now is the time to PANIC!"
  22. Yeah, I know. So does Dave Boreanz, er I mean Thomas, er I mean Roberts... Don? (RIP)
  23. Not I. I didn't join until 2002. Don?
