T.O. to miss 2nd straight preseason game
Dante replied to smuvtalker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See him in his show and you know he is a proffesional as far as keeping in shape is concerned. I just hope missing pre season games doesn't slow his gelling with the Bills -
I'm not familiar with the NBA system but if they have limits that has to be a good thing. Another major issue is the ripple effect that these contracts have to cause. If I'm a quality 3rd or 4th year guy(with a contract about to expire) and I see what money unproven noobs are worth, what am I worth?? Tosses the entire scale out of whack. I have no history to back this up but it has to happen that way no? The other thing is what is a guy like Crabtree doing to his career? Listening to the NFL guys on Sirius this morning and they were saying both Singletary and the OC at SF are not exactly fond of or have patience for rookies. Holding out for big bucks, being a rookie and making way more than the coaching staff could ever dream of making can't be a great recipe for a cordial , learning relationship.

Situations like this make up the foundation of what will eventually be me saying FU to the NFL. On its own no, but certainly makes you resent the players, agents and the process. It all just leaves a negative taste.

What continually frustrates me is the most important thing that any pay should be based on is performance. Shouldn't be based on what others have got because there is no history to base it on Especially when you are talking these kinda bucks. What other business can afford to pay these kind of wages blindly? A league that charged $200 a year to watch on tv that what kind. Fuggin guys should get league minimum for a year until they prove what they can do. Ridiculous. Their lucky they have the privilege of having the opportunity to play in a elite professional league.

Just joking! Lighten up

Got this off a f-up list at PC World from a bigger article. Has to be the worst negotiation in history. Damn, I couldn't sleep at night having to wonder what might have been!! Rest of the article is here "Digital Research: The Other Microsoft This one is a classic. In 1980, when IBM was looking for somebody to build a disc operating software for its brand-new IBM PC, Microsoft was not its first choice. In fact, none other than Bill Gates suggested that Big Blue approach Gary Kildall of Digital Research, author of the CP/M operating system. The legend is that Kildall blew IBM off to go fly his plane. The real story is that Kildall was flying to deliver a product to another customer, leaving his wife to negotiate with IBM. Dorothy Kildall didn't like parts of the deal IBM was proposing and sent the executives packing. Big Blue went back to Gates, who with his partner Paul Allen whipped out MS-DOS, based on Tim Paterson's QDOS (the Quick and Dirty Operating System), which was itself based on CP/M. IBM ended up offering both Microsoft's DOS (for $60) and a version of CP/M ($240) to buyers of the original IBM PC. The cheaper product won. Before DOS, Microsoft's biggest products were versions of the BASIC programming tool. After DOS, well...you know the rest. Would Microsoft have grown into the monolith it is today without the IBM contract? We'll never know."

What made you think that 7-9 was underachieving?

All beatable, lower end teams even by the worst in the league. Makes it even more unacceptable. -
Wow, thank you. Looks good. On the queue now

Is it a martial arts movie? I mean, with a title like "Battle Royal" I suppose it is. I read the outline at Netflix and it looked like it may be. Not really into those. If its not i'll rent it

Interesting list. Clearly he likes the martial art flicks but some good picks in there. "Shaun Of The Dead" and "Team America" are my personal favs. Not sure where his head is at with the "Friday" pick. I know he did go kinda wigger back in the 90's. Anyway, Netflix queue just got a lot longer, and more eclectic. Crap, sorry for no link. Here it is.

I wonder if the current economical climate is hurting some of these pre season games? -

If the Bills leave one day for another city
Dante replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I have issues with the NFL as it is now. 1) Too expensive. Sunday Ticket is way overpriced 2)Product is getting difficult to watch. Game is slowed to a crawl now by never ending TV timeouts, mind numbing instant replay reviews. 3)Watered down league. Too much player movement. 4)Jerk off players and agents getting way too much for guys who haven't even played a down yet. Driving the price of everything way too high. If the Bills moved I would be heartbroken, resentful. With no emotional attachment to any team it wouldn't be hard for me to ignore the NFL. I may be a casual Niner fan thats about it. With no cash outlay for Sunday Ticket I may be able to go to a couple extra Shark games. Maybe get back into baseball again. Another sport that I abandoned after the strike in the 90s -

What was he doing at camp that he misses so much? If he was a 4 or 5 years older I would say he misses the girl action at or around the camp. What kind of activities do they do there? -
Hooray!!! They won't be coming to my town.

Nothing wrong with a little pre season enthusiasm. We should take advantage of the opportunity. It's likely there will be less and less of them as the season progresses. So yea Thoner, I'm with you. Hope this guy turns out to be more than Maybe could ever hope for. !

Anyone a fan of the band "Yeah Yeah Yeah's"?
Dante replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Saw them earlier this year at BFD. Really good. -
Have no intention of watching it at all. But I have a couple Mexican guys that work here wanting to take time to watch it. All the better if it's on Telemundo.
-
The thing that bothers me is that the kid didn't even thank you.
-
Watching him on the Sharks the last couple seasons this doesn't seem to be true anymore. He can be very effective at times but those games seem pretty infrequent. Frustrating for me to watch because I know he can be better. He has had a long career and I can't help but think he is just playing out the string for cash. Wife is very hot btw. Sat a row behind her in a game I went too last season.

Any deal that involved Tyler Myers I would immediately reject. He's a stud. He will anchor Sabre D for years to come. Pronger esque

So it still would be on Comcast no? Comcast has Telemundo doesn't it? Not sure because I don't have Comcast.
