  1. I don't mind other guys dancing with my girl That's fine, I know them all pretty well But I know sometimes I must get out in the light Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright The kids are alright
  2. Here in this hopeless f-----g hole we call L.A. The only way to fix it is to flush it all away Any f-----g time, any f-----g day Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay
  3. When I die and they lay me to rest Gonna go to the place that's the best When I lay me down to die Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
  4. I know that I'm a prisoner To all my Father held so dear I know that I'm a hostage To all his hopes and fears I just wish I could have told him in the living years
  5. Boys will come along, a dime by the dozen That ain't nothing but ten cent lovin' Hey little thing, let me light your candle 'Cause, mama, I'm sure hard to handle now, gets around
  6. It was long after midnight When we got to unconditional love She said "sure my heart is boundless but don't push my limits too far" I said "if love is so transcendent, I don't understand these boundaries" She said "just don't disappoint me, you know how complex women are"
  7. Living in a fisheye lens Caught in the camera eye I have no heart to lie I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend All the world's indeed a stage We are merely players Performers and portrayers Each another's audience outside the gilded cage
  8. Well, I was only a kid, didn't know enough to be afraid Playing the game, but not the way the big boys played Nothing to lose, maybe I had something to trade The way the big wheel spins Well, I was only a kid, on a holy crusade I placed no trust in a faith that was ready-made Take no chances on paradise delayed So I do a slow fade
  9. Say it ain't so, I will not go Turn the lights off, carry me home Keep your head still, I'll be your thrill The night will go on, my little windmill
  10. Don't think me unkind Words are hard to find They're only cheques I've left unsigned From the banks of chaos in my mind And when their eloquence escapes me Their logic ties me up and rapes me De do do do, de da da da Is all I want to say to you De do do do, de da da da Their innocence will pull me through De do do do, de da da da Is all I want to say to you De do do do, de da da da They're meaningless and all that's true
  11. Bless me father, for I have sinned… Started watching The Dynasty: New England Patriots on Apple TV+ today, and g-d help me but I like it. It doesn’t make me like them, but it’s a really well done and engaging look at the Patriots from the Bledsoe-Brady transition through to the end of the Brady/Belichick era.
  12. Masquerade! Paper faces on parade Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you Masquerade! Every face a different shade Masquerade! Look around, there's another mask behind you.
  13. Sprawling on the fringes of the city In geometric order An insulated border In-between the bright lights And the far, unlit unknown Growing up, it all seems so one-sided Opinions all provided The future pre-decided Detached and subdivided In the mass-production zone
  14. And it's too late, baby, now it's too late Though we really did try to make it Somethin' inside has died And I can't hide and I just can't fake it Oh, no, no, no, no, no (No, no, no, no)
  15. Down around the corner A half a mile from here You see them long trains runnin' And you watch them disappear Without love Where would you be now Without love
  16. We are young Wandering the face of the earth Wondering what our dreams might be worth Learning that we're only immortal For a limited time
  17. Day after day Alone on a hill The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still But nobody wants to know him They can see that he's just a fool And he never gives an answer
  18. A world of indifference, heads and hearts too full Careless of the consequence of constant push and pull Anger got bare knuckles, anger play the fool Anger wear a crown of thorns, reverse the golden rule Then you learn the lesson that it's tough to be so cool Handle with kid gloves, handle with kid gloves Then you learn the weapons and the ways of hard-knock school Put on your kid gloves, put on your kid gloves Then you learn the lesson that it's tough to be so cool
  19. All the counselors hate the waiters And the lake has alligators And the head coach wants no sissies So he reads to us from something called 'Ulysses' No, I don't want this should scare ya But my bunkmate has malaria You remember Jeffrey Hardy They're about to organize a searching party
  20. Here's a little trap That sometimes catches everyone When today's as far as we can see Faith in bright tomorrows Giving way to resignation That's how it is, how it's going to be It's such a cloudy day Seems we'll never see the sun Feel the day has possibilities Frozen in the moment The lack of imagination Between how it is and how it ought to be Between how it is and how it ought to be
  21. I'm just sittin' here watchin' the wheels go 'round and 'round I really love to watch them roll No longer ridin' on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go
  22. I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint (and it’s nitpicking for sure) is that King doesn’t quite have a great grasp of current teenagers and it sometimes felt like main character could have been a kid from the ‘50s or ‘60s with the way he talked and acted.
  23. I can burn right through those suckers!
  24. I'm a pretty big reader, tend to jump around across genres and physical vs Kindle books. Last physical books finished were Geddy Lee's "My Effin Life" (highest possible recommendation!) and Stephen King's "Fairy Tale" (also very good). On the Kindle, currently reading "An Absolutely Remarkable Thing" by Hank Green. Just started it, but feels like I'll enjoy it. Recently finished "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer" by Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin, "Hail Mary Project" by Andy Weir, and "The Troop" by Nick Cutter. Like I said...jump around across genres.
