WGR is just like every other “local” sports radio station around the country…WFAN, WEEI, WSCR, take your pick. A mixed bag of hosts, an even more mixed bag of callers (heavily weighted towards shut-ins and “hot take” tough guy wanna-bes), and waaayyy too much sports betting content. I usually listen weekday early mornings commuting to work via the Audacy app. As a Buffalo ex-pat, this is my only realtime connection to Buffalo sports. I find the morning show a mixed bag but overall very listenable. when I listen to the afternoon duo on my commute home, more often then not I find myself changing to a podcast or music…those guys are just too old and crotchety for me (and I am an old and crotchety guy myself).
