  1. What does one have to do with the other?
  2. Not nearly the given that you think. What would "personal leave" have accomplished? The news still would have come out and Araiza would still be employed by the team and they would have still been pressured to release him.
  3. Only the league can place players on administrative leave. And that only occurs when the player is formally charged with a felony or violent crime. So I ask again, since you're the ultimate source of integrity, morality and judgement - when should they have released him?
  4. It's important not to distract from the real reason for why American news media is failing us as a society - and it's MONEY/GREED. That's it. We should call it out directly as opposed to dancing around it.
  5. Maybe, but so what? He'll answer questions about a former player and then the questions will turn back to football.
  6. Sorry Tom, I don't give up secrets to former GM's.
  7. I don't see it lingering at all.
  8. At his best, Moss is the prototypical "dime a dozen" running back. At his worst, he's "look like Tarzan, play like Jane".
  9. In light of this information, I fully anticipate Jaquan Johnson's release tomorrow.
  10. When you have an eye for it, it doesn't take much.
  11. Cook may have the higher ceiling because he's bigger and faster. But there's more to being a running back than that. Blackshear is hungry, has great vision, plays with energy and has a chip on his shoulder. We'll see what happens.
  12. As of today, both Duke Johnson and Raheem Blackshear are better than Moss and - yes - Cook. If they can get a draft pick for Moss, why not?
  13. When should they have released Araiza in your mind? Immediately after he received a text from this turd? You can fault McDermott for getting emotionally attached to his players (obvious from Friday's post-game press conference) if you want. But I wouldn't. The Bills didn't really need to release Araiza. Hell, the Browns just signed a guy who's been accused of raping 20+ women to a giant contract. Bills could've held on to Araiza as long as it took for this situation to be resolved if they really wanted. But they did release him. Precisely when they should have. And I've never, ever had issue with calling the Bills out when they deserve it.
  14. Nothing against Poyer but I'm good with Hyde and Jaquan Johnson going forward.
  15. Be careful laughing at Belichick. He has a knack for pulling chicken salad out of chicken poop. Still expect the Patriots to be our only competition for the division title this year. And the Bills are once again going to have to earn it if they want it (12-14 wins).
  16. If it's 4th and < 15 in opponent territory, we should go for it 99% of the time. How often is it it 4th and long in opponent territory? Is that rare scenario worth using a roster spot on a punter with a weaker-than-average leg? Did he say this before or after Sam Martin was released?
  17. If we're close enough to be able to pin a team inside the 10 with a directional punt, we should be going for it on 4th down - not punting. Therefore, there's no point in having a punter like that unless McDermott wants to get conservative this season.
  18. I'm skeptical that Kern has the leg power this staff prefers. He's a precision guy. We won't be punting from opponent territory often. We need a punter that can flip field position. Not sure Kern is that guy.
  19. Here we goooooo
  20. He's brand new to this offensive system. Sometimes it takes guys time. Howard is a great physical talent. His contract this year is fully guaranteed. Those two reasons alone likely means he's safe. Should keep Knox, Howard and Morris. Sweeney is as good as he's ever going to be, which isn't good enough.
  21. They didn’t handle it perfectly (Haack shouldn’t have been released when he was) but I still give McDermott and Beane credit for what they did. Not an easy situation. Some will still criticize them because that’s what people do. But they displayed both quality leadership and empathy.
