Was Orton playing possum and waiting for for best deal? Absolutely. Was signing Orton smart. Well yes there is no better QB backup out there. is it a head scratching move? yes. Why wait and gamble to the very last second to have a decent backup? When they knew in January they had problems. What would have happened if Orton went to the rams? this conversation would not be happening. Then I would take Campbell if just for the savings to sign a dam good safety. i think its in place because IF a new stadium was built the team could move there that year with minimal Cost. The lease is for the stadium not the buffalo Bills.

EJ is going to be awesome.and, going the entire pre season first half without a TD is pure genius coaching. legendary execution and smokescreens. very few teams have the sack to to be so cunning in their pre season camp and play. marrone has the league, fans, press, everyone so confused, that this could be a year for the ages. Orton is a career .500 QB. In Bills world that is pretty darn good. i don't think his signing is a threat to EJ as a starter as all. he is at Least adequate if not a average back up. Which is leaps and bounds better than 3 days ago. Losing that first round pick may prove painful next spring though.
