  1. I kinda like the one w/ the tile salesman. "Now listen here, Jerky, half of these things are broken..." "This is Frank" "Who?" "Frank Rizzo" "Who?" "Frank Rizzo! Open your ears, jacka**!"
  2. Oh, it's been worse. Much worse. The name Mike Nugent rings a bell...
  3. No it doesn't. Haven't you ever read any of the pre-draft posts here? Any team can make a trade any time they want, just like in Madden.
  4. Yeah. We're just one Pro Bowl QB away from a title... I don't know if this is anywhere near a reality, but if they trade him for pass rush help (OLB or DE), that would @ least be an attempt to fix one of the team's biggest problem areas for years. Then again, they'd probably trade Marshawn for a backup DE and an OLB coming off career threatening surgery.
  5. Burnett is a pretty decent pass rusher and could only help the Bills if he was on their radar. He would immediately be the best pass rushing LB on the team. Having said that, I'm not sure if he's even a consideration for the Bills.
  6. If there was a better crop of DEs, I'd agree w/ you guys. Most of this year's group have good pass rush skills and would be good situational players, but would be liabilities to some degree vs the run. That's why many of them have been projected to be 3-4 rush 'backers. If they plan to use the 11th pick on a Jeffcoat-like situational guy, then I suppose players like Orakpo, Maybin, and Brown (who all fit the bill as 3-4 pass rushing LBs more than they do as down linemen in a 4-3) would be in play. Then again, they could go after a guy like LSU's Tyson Jackson, who better fits the mold of a 4-3 DE. It's a bit high for him, but if they really feel he can man one of the DE spots and give the team a quality run defender as well as pass rush help (personally, I think he's a good run defender and a so-so pass rusher), then why not?
  7. A change of scenery may do both players some good. Though for Preston, going to Oakland probably isn't the type of "change of scenery" he should look into.
  8. Sigh. Okay, to set the record straight and spare us any more clever posts, Harvin played his collegiate career @ the University of Florida and not Florida State.
  9. Both the "2009 Gripes" and the "2009 Gripes of Gripes" forums are currently under construction.
  10. Gone.
  11. A neverending process...
  12. Thanks for the heads up. I guess $3 per month won't break the bank. I can live w/ it.
  13. I doubt they will for subscribers. That would be ridiculous. Maybe for people who browse their site and don't subscibe; that I could understand.
  14. Nope. Firewall. No Sirius, Youtube, Hulu, basically no streaming broadcast and/or video stuff. I used to be able to listen to the stream of Rivals Radio before (great for pre-draft info), but even that has been taken away.
  15. I guess it depends on where you're @ in the building. A former co-worker had his boom box (so he could listen to Stern) and it worked 'til his antenna broke.
  16. Yep. That's the segment I heard on the way to work. I really need to get either a boom box or a stiletto radio so that I can listen to Sirius while @ work.
  17. If he (Cross) just said that, he must be repeating what he said @ the top of the 7am hour. What Cross doesn't understand is that the teams that can make the steady, fiscally sound purchases usually have a bigger incentive on their side than just cash: they have the hardware. If you're a team that is in search of said hardware, or a team like the Bills who are in search of LOTS more just to get to the point of contending for said hardware, you have to overspend to get the kind of talent that's going to help you get there. Not that he'd have any interest in coming to Buffalo, but say Albert Haynesworth was being wined and dined by the Bills. What incentive would he have to sign w/ them other than a boatload of cash? The allure of three straight 7-9 seasons? Maybe getting to play w/ one of the worst pass rushes in all of football? The stable and successful coaching staff?
  18. Every message board has its share of "whiny depressing people" and then some. To think that bb.com is some kind of refuge from this is inaccurate.
  19. Labatt, why give up high draft picks for a TE, when we still have issues up front? The Bills have zero centers, cut their starting LG, and the RG ain't all that, either. Not to mention there's little in the way of pass rushing DEs and a LB unit that needs a serious infusion of talent. Given all that, I say no to bringing in a tight end. Given all those other deficiencies, what good will it do? They'd be doing what they've been doing for years: spinning their wheels. A trade like that is a good way to ensure a fourth consecutive 7-9 season.....or worse.
  20. Didn't you answer your own question?
  21. Okay... He'd be one of my top choices. I don't anticipate it happening, but I sure would be happy if it does. I dunno. Kinda long in the tooth. I'd rather see the Bills get younger, bigger, and nastier up front. Oh goody; another undersized LB for our vaunted defensive scheme. Woo hoo. If the price isn't too steep, why not? Well, we do need an experienced backup. I'd like to see him work out first, but if he's not too expensive and he works out well, not an altogether horrible move. Way better quality @ LB in the first round than DE. Of course, if we get Cato June, it would probably mean a stubborn adherence to our current scheme, where big, quick pass rushing OLBs don't seem to be desired. Oh well. I like getting a quality TE in the 2nd. Maybe if Coffman is there, we snag him. If we are able to come out of this w/ upgrades @ center, TE, LB (hopefully NOT Cato June), and maybe G, then there would be reason to get hyped up for the 2009 season.
  22. Aww, whadda you know?
  23. Which site are you referring to? I saw no link in any post to a "site". All I saw were the different "teams" shown. Uh huh.
