  1. Notice how I didn't say DE specifically? They need a pass rush, whether they get it from a situational player, an OLB who can bring the heat from the outside (aside from Kawika Mitchell's terrifying 4 sack total, that is), or from a down lineman.
  2. True, you can get it from the LBs (4 last year, all from Kawika Mitchell; a whopping 16% of the total team production) and the DBs (4 last year, 1 each from Whitner, Scott, Youboty, and Wilson; another 16% of the total). You're preaching to the choir. I only suggest that the Bills don't forsake any/all other positions for the sake of the O line. To say that we're a couple O line starters away from contention is flat out wrong. ...on either side of the ball.
  3. I'm referring to the scenario William posted initially, Labatt, not the Bills' draft tendencies.
  4. In your scenario, William, you hook up the O line @ the expense of every other position. It just doesn't make sense. They have to try to address both needs, not just one. If they decide to go O line w/ the first pick, it's going to make it very difficult to get pass rush help later on. This draft is top heavy w/ pass rushers, but not very deep w/ 'em. If I were the GM, I'd look to upgrade my pass rush FIRST, then get an interior OL, then look to get a receiving TE.
  5. Let's ignore the (lack of a) pass rush yet again and load up on O linemen. It'll work.
  6. Not that such a scenario is likely, but I know that opposing QBs would continue to be pleased if such were the case.
  7. Okay folks, we're done for the day. Second half of Round 1 tomorrow, beginning @ 10:00am EST. See ya then.
  8. San Diego was hoping they could land Mauluga here, but watched as he went early to Cincy. Oh well. They need to get a big 3-4 DE to fit their scheme, and so... San Diego selects Tyson Jackson, DE/DT from LSU
  9. So it would seem. And after I went out of my way to say this wasn't a "WTF??" type pick, too. Sigh. And undervoted. Has begun to???? Hey, I tried to stress the need for a pass rusher. Didn't work.
  10. Sorry, had to actually do a little work for a change. New Orleans selects Brian Cushing, LB from USC. Houston is next.
  11. If a trade was offered to "Buffalo", it would have to be put into the poll as another option to vote for.
  12. Are you arguing w/ BGIM or myself? I don't mind the Oher pick (it's not a "WTF??" type move). I just want the Bills to finally "get it" in regard to the pass rush. In this mock, the pickings are going to be quite slim in the upcoming 2 rounds for guys who can put heat on the QB. Looks like the Bills will be looking @ more ominous 3rd downs next season. Maybe, w/ the $$ they'd save by not giving Peters a huge contract, they could overspend on some injured has been (Taylor) to bring the heat.
  13. Michael Oher, huh? Well, I hope the Bills do something in free agency to get a pass rusher if that's the pick. Unless something crazy happens, I don't see there being any decent rushers available w/ the 2nd round pick, which I figure would go for a TE or C/G prospect anyway.
  14. 'Nawlins is on the clock.
  15. Washington is on the clock.
  16. Denver selects Aaron Maybin, DE/LB from PENN STATE
  17. And w/ the 11th pick of Round 1, your Buffalo Bills select... Michael Oher, OT from Mississippi
  18. Selection made.
  19. Interesting results so far. Not what I would have expected.
  20. The poll for the Bills' pick is up now. Make sure you vote.
  21. I thought 'bout going w/ Matthews, as our OLB corps needs a lot of work. But, I'd like to see someone bring the heat to opposing QBs, so I opted for Maybin.
  22. The poll is set up for the Bills' first round pick. For those who would like to vote, go here.
  23. So, who should it be?
  24. San Fransisco selects Mark Sanchez, QB from USC
  25. Green Bay selects Everette Brown, DE from Florida State. San Fransisco is on the clock.
