3 Round Mock Draft Starts Tomorrow at 10am

No problem. If you're standing pat and drafting @ your position, your team (Miami) doesn't draft 'til tomorrow anyway. -

We'll be starting up the draft @ 10am this morning. Go to the Mock Drafts forum to check in @ 9am. Those who cannot be online for their picks (all picks are slotted for a particular time; check the draft thread for details), send a PM of players to choose from. -
'Til the season begins, we really don't know whether a schedule is tough or not. A couple years ago, how many people thought the Saints would be any good, particularly in the aftermath of Katrina? What 'bout Atlanta last year? W/ the way free agency has changed the game, it's just far too difficult to predict how teams will fare over the course of a season. What someone did in the previous season doesn't necessarily translate to the current season, as I'm sure Miami fans would gladly attest to.

Never heard of any of this stuff.

Aaaaargh! I missed this; damn. Oh well; you can make me feel guilty in a couple weeks. I'm sure it was a happy one (you said so).
-
Weeeellll.........I may have mentioned something to that effect a while back, William.
-
Nah. W/ the Lions making the trade to grab Julian Peterson, I decided to go in another direction. They need help all over, not just @ the linebacker position.
-
Perhaps. We'll see. I did post the schedule and time limits for the mock over on the Wall. We'll see if that makes a difference for tomorrow.

Shutting it down for today. We'll start tormorrow morning @ 10:00am. Schedule: Round 1: 04/07/09, 04/08/09 Round 2: 04/09/09 Round 3: 04/10/09 Each team will have: 15 minutes to make selections or trade in Round 1 10 minutes to make selections or trade in Round 2 5 minutes to make selections or trade in Round 3 Any other questions, send me a PM. -
Well, looks like there aren't many of us 'round today. We'll shut it down for now. The mock should take 4 days (2 for Round 1 and a day each for Rounds 2 and 3), so we'll get things in motion no later than tomorrow morning.
-
Thanks. I really think that the Lions would be treading water by not addressing their offensive and defensive fronts. Taking another skill player while you have glaring needs up front doesn't seem very smart to me. Yeah. Too bad decided not to show up.

Mock GMs check in. If there's not enough people here to get things started, we may have to delay things. -
St. Louis is on the clock.

Okay, I'll get this started, since I'm the Lions' mock GM: Conventional wisdom says that if you do not have a franchise QB, you don't pass on one. Well, we're going to challenge that. While Stafford has a cannon of an arm and Sanchez shows impressive skills, especially his accuracy, I don't know if either can be classified as a "franchise QB", one that you'd pass up a number of marquee talents in order to select. The Lions are not a QB away from contention, and to those that point to Matt Ryan's success of last year, I only ask: does John Abraham's career year come w/ the QB the Lions would draft? Do you also get one of the league's top rushers (2nd in league; first in conference) as well? No? Well, in that case... w/ the first overall pick in the 2009 TBD 3 Round Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions select... Jason Smith, OL from Baylor

Now that's taking it back a bit. I remember seeing Clancy play in the Connie Hawkins Summer League years ago.
