  1. Very sensible. Unless we somehow are in a position to get Ferguson (highly unlikely), and if Ngata is still on the board, we'd be stupid to pass him up. The only other player I could see being a consideration then would be DE Mario Williams of NC State. This kid looks like the real deal and should make a really good pro pass rusher. Other than him, and if Ferguson is gone and Ngata is still available, I sure hope the Bills draft him.
  2. The early signs aren't good for Wanny. He inherited a team that had a wealth of talent, especially on the defensive side, and good depth, and turned them into a train wreck. I really thought Pitt would've done better than this.
  3. I wish it were that simple.
  4. I haven't seen you there yet, other than before/after the games in Lot 1. Maybe I'll catch up w/ you @ the Denver game.
  5. Sorry you had such a rough experience there. I do think I know who you're referring to, and he can get quite annoying.
  6. No problem. I'm one of the few people who enjoy the endzone seats for reasons other than a bunch of drunks getting together and being a**holes.
  7. I wish I could've made the trip to meet all of you who have been ducking me (cough, cough, AKC, cough, cough). Like you said though, the game would've been a real buzz killer and would've made me quite angry @ all the $$ spent. It was bad enough @ the Saints game in San Antonio.
  8. I like Ngata a lot. I watched him in the game against USC and was impressed not only w/ his speed (which is usually what people talk about), but in how well he does in clogging the rush lanes. I do think he's the best player in this draft.............not named Reggie Bush, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Vince Young, Matt Leinart, or Mario Williams. [Side note: the more I see of Mario Williams, the more I like. I used to think Kiwanuka was far and away the best DE prospect in this draft, but not any more. I put Williams just slightly ahead of Kiwi. Their play is good news for teams needing a pass rusher, as one of them (probably Kiwi) will fall a bit to them, much like Derrick Johnson fell to KC or how Shawne Merriman inexplicably fell to San Diego later.]
  9. Justice is decent, but like you said, overrated. McNeill is a guy who hasn't played well this year, and his stock has been dropping all season because of it. He went into the year as the 2nd best prospect in the draft after Ferguson, now he's probably the 7th or 8th best tackle prospect. Ferguson has played very well this year overall. I have seen him in some less than stellar moments (Syracuse game, Va Tech game), but I still believe he's the class of the tackle pool in this draft. So do the Texans, so any talk of him landing in Buffalo is not very realistic, unless we traded up to their pick. If nobody moves from their positions and things remain the same, he's going to Houston. I disagree w/ you about Winston. I'm sure some of the fans of "The U" can give better insight (Badol, dib??), but from what I've seen, it's incredible that he's even on the field right now let alone playing as well as he has this season. Think the injury has hampered his mobility (being a former TE and all, he is pretty mobile)? Watch the Miami-Va Tech game and you'll see that isn't the case. Right now, I'd say he's the best tackle prospect in this draft after Ferguson and just ahead of a couple guys I haven't seen mentioned, but are very good and should be first round considerations: Joe Thomas of Wisconsin (a bada** who blocks w/ attitude and proper technique, which is to be expected from a Badger OL) Jonathan Scott of Texas (big guy @ 6-7 and 315 w/ a nice wingspan and good skills who hasn't scratched the surface of his potential yet)
  10. My season tickets are in the endzone on the tunnel side. For the most part, the fans in my section are okay. There's a few idiots that have seats a couple rows ahead of me, but even they haven't been as obnoxious as they have in the past. Before getting my season tickets, I used to sit over on the opposite side of the stadium (endzone, Jumbotron side). There, you did get a few more rowdy fans and a few more drunken idiots who are there to drink beer first and watch a game second (or maybe 3rd). That said, I sat over in that section for the majority of the 25 years I've attended Bills games and had very few incidents.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
  12. He can get back in McGahee's face once he becomes the best QB in the league. Willis only takes orders from his peers.
  13. Working today and Friday, as usual. I'm one of the federal employees that doesn't take time off around Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. I take the bulk of my vacation time in the fall for the home opener and other games I plan to attend. I leave the major holidays for the others in my office to squabble about.
  14. Ferentz is in a great position to negotiate for a pro head coaching position, especially since he's regarded as among the best coaches (if not THE best) in college football today. He's another Belichick disciple like Nick Saban and he's also a former OFFENSIVE LINE COACH w/ NFL experience!!!!! He has a lot going for him, that's for sure. I honestly don't see a person w/ that much going for him accepting a job w/ the Bills. Stranger things have happened, but I just don't think he'd take this job when more attractive offers would be there for him. Plus, he loves being @ Iowa, has a great coaching staff there, and hasn't shown any intersest in returning to the NFL to date. Side note: in a GM simulation league I'm in (where you manage a team from drafting players, salary cap issues-the whole 9 yards, so to speak), Ferentz is the head coach of my team. He was my second choice: JoePa turned down a huge contract. Haha!!
  15. That jumping up and down was just those who were still bitter @ the fine folks from Simi Valley. They wanted payback, and boy, did they get it. Nice trade value though: letting a killer walk in exchange for beating the crap out of a junkie.
  16. Because nobody knows the lyrics. All they know is the whistling.
  17. I like the Art of Noise version of the Peter Gunn theme.
  18. Ah, the "kinder and gentler" TBD. The place where you don't have to worry about being "called out" by others...
  19. Hey, he didn't say they were correct facts.
  20. And he'd add lots of "wham!" and "whap!" remarks on regular looking hits as well.
  21. I still like my idea better, but this............................one........................... is........................... good. Real good. This has got to be the huge post of the day.
  22. Ask the Chargers.
  23. They could bump Oregon up ahead of PSU, if the Ducks' schedule is as good or better. That would be fair. I'm just happy my team won something this year, even if it was the Big 11 title and not a national title. But, w/ how this year is ending up, we'd more than likely be the 3rd team of a 2 team race even if we would've beaten Michigan. That's a position that is quite familiar to PSU and their fans (5 unbeaten/untied seasons under JoePa w/ just 2 national titles), but it still sucks nevertheless. Actually Bart, this is one of those years where I believe "that school" will actually perform well in a BCS game when they don't merit it based on their record, so that's not a big deal. It's not like some years, where they'd win 7 games, get a BCS bid, then get blown out by some average team. If you only looked @ records, Kansas wouldn't have won the NCAA basketball title when Larry Brown coached them. Then again, basketball does have a playoff to decide a champion...
  24. Ralph Wilson deserves it before any of them. Unfortunately, this isn't voted on by the Those Who Deserve It Best Committee.
  25. Clark was awesome during his stint in Cleveland. We would be fortunate to get him. Davis sure would make recruiting easy: "Did you go to the U? No? See ya." Here's another proposal: GM: SDS HC: Simon OC: Lori DC: Badol QBs: Harvey (Albany NY) RBs: Runthedamnball (suggestive) WRs: Thailog80 TEs: MarkVI OL: Bill from NYC (who else?) DL: AKC LBs: R. Rich DBs: John from Hemet ST: 34-78-83
