  1. That jumping up and down was just those who were still bitter @ the fine folks from Simi Valley. They wanted payback, and boy, did they get it. Nice trade value though: letting a killer walk in exchange for beating the crap out of a junkie.
  2. Because nobody knows the lyrics. All they know is the whistling.
  3. I like the Art of Noise version of the Peter Gunn theme.
  4. Ah, the "kinder and gentler" TBD. The place where you don't have to worry about being "called out" by others...
  5. Hey, he didn't say they were correct facts.
  6. And he'd add lots of "wham!" and "whap!" remarks on regular looking hits as well.
  7. I still like my idea better, but this............................one........................... is........................... good. Real good. This has got to be the huge post of the day.
  8. Ask the Chargers.
  9. They could bump Oregon up ahead of PSU, if the Ducks' schedule is as good or better. That would be fair. I'm just happy my team won something this year, even if it was the Big 11 title and not a national title. But, w/ how this year is ending up, we'd more than likely be the 3rd team of a 2 team race even if we would've beaten Michigan. That's a position that is quite familiar to PSU and their fans (5 unbeaten/untied seasons under JoePa w/ just 2 national titles), but it still sucks nevertheless. Actually Bart, this is one of those years where I believe "that school" will actually perform well in a BCS game when they don't merit it based on their record, so that's not a big deal. It's not like some years, where they'd win 7 games, get a BCS bid, then get blown out by some average team. If you only looked @ records, Kansas wouldn't have won the NCAA basketball title when Larry Brown coached them. Then again, basketball does have a playoff to decide a champion...
  10. Ralph Wilson deserves it before any of them. Unfortunately, this isn't voted on by the Those Who Deserve It Best Committee.
  11. Clark was awesome during his stint in Cleveland. We would be fortunate to get him. Davis sure would make recruiting easy: "Did you go to the U? No? See ya." Here's another proposal: GM: SDS HC: Simon OC: Lori DC: Badol QBs: Harvey (Albany NY) RBs: Runthedamnball (suggestive) WRs: Thailog80 TEs: MarkVI OL: Bill from NYC (who else?) DL: AKC LBs: R. Rich DBs: John from Hemet ST: 34-78-83
  12. You could make solid arguments for any of the ones listed. LC Greenwood was one heck of a DL for the Steel Curtain and was one of the few smart players to retire before he was an invalid. Grimm, Zimmerman, and yes Mark, even Kuchenberg are all deserving candidates on the OL, as is Der Dawson (the guy who may be the reason Kent Hull never gets to Canton, I fear). Moon, Dent, Derrick Thomas (RIP), and Monk will all get in eventually, I think.
  13. There's a lot of deserving candidates in there.
  14. That's one of the reason why I do have something against "that school".
  15. Good thinking, stuck. I'm just glad some idiot didn't turn this into some PPP soap opera and kept it respectful for you.
  16. Optimism is in short supply around here.
  17. You've been saying that for years, yet you still continue to run TBD.
  18. I agree w/ you on Oregon. Their only loss was to the top ranked team in the nation. What a bunch of BS. But, they know that ND brings a ton of cash w/ them in terms of a bowl game, much more than Oregon would. I mean, after all, in terms of merchandising, they are the top moneymaker in SPORTS! Not just college football, not just college athletics, any sport. Add in a very solid (and wealthy) group of alumni and the Irish get the benefit of the doubt in a lot of cases.
  19. I was w/ Psycho Ward 86 @ the 'game' between the Ravens and the Steelers today, then we went to Sliders (where our 2 tailgates before Bills-Ravens games were held) for food and drinks afterward. They didn't have the Bills game on there, so all I have to go by are the reports I read on the screen, as I don't even recall seeing any highlights. I suppose I'll watch the game tomorrow after work, since I did tivo it. I guess I'll brace myself for the shock and horror.
  20. People like him and, unfortunately, me, meaning people who shell out over $700 for season tickets.
  21. Thank goodness for college football. Again, the Nittany Lions have won a championship, making it 2 total for the football teams I root for since the Super Bowl era Bills, both of them coming from Penn State ('94 Big 11 title; '05 Big 11 title).
  22. I'm not that big a fan of TJ, so I don't know how great the "pregame festivities" would have been. That game was a possibility for me just to get to meet the guys out west who don't come to the east coast to see the Bills. I wish I knew. I think Cowher saw that the Bengals were playing the Colts, figured that they'd lose (albeit correctly), then decided not to start Roethlisberger today, which allowed Maddox to lead the Steelers to a loss.
  23. Agreed, though we weren't feeling so great after the Saints game, were we? I only wasted $160 this weekend, watching the Ravens beat a listless Steelers team today.
  24. Congrats to the Big 11 champs, Penn State!!! (Hey, @ least it's not me whining and/or bitching about the Bills, right?)
