  1. You could make solid arguments for any of the ones listed. LC Greenwood was one heck of a DL for the Steel Curtain and was one of the few smart players to retire before he was an invalid. Grimm, Zimmerman, and yes Mark, even Kuchenberg are all deserving candidates on the OL, as is Der Dawson (the guy who may be the reason Kent Hull never gets to Canton, I fear). Moon, Dent, Derrick Thomas (RIP), and Monk will all get in eventually, I think.
  2. There's a lot of deserving candidates in there.
  3. That's one of the reason why I do have something against "that school".
  4. Good thinking, stuck. I'm just glad some idiot didn't turn this into some PPP soap opera and kept it respectful for you.
  5. Optimism is in short supply around here.
  6. You've been saying that for years, yet you still continue to run TBD.
  7. I agree w/ you on Oregon. Their only loss was to the top ranked team in the nation. What a bunch of BS. But, they know that ND brings a ton of cash w/ them in terms of a bowl game, much more than Oregon would. I mean, after all, in terms of merchandising, they are the top moneymaker in SPORTS! Not just college football, not just college athletics, any sport. Add in a very solid (and wealthy) group of alumni and the Irish get the benefit of the doubt in a lot of cases.
  8. I was w/ Psycho Ward 86 @ the 'game' between the Ravens and the Steelers today, then we went to Sliders (where our 2 tailgates before Bills-Ravens games were held) for food and drinks afterward. They didn't have the Bills game on there, so all I have to go by are the reports I read on the screen, as I don't even recall seeing any highlights. I suppose I'll watch the game tomorrow after work, since I did tivo it. I guess I'll brace myself for the shock and horror.
  9. People like him and, unfortunately, me, meaning people who shell out over $700 for season tickets.
  10. Thank goodness for college football. Again, the Nittany Lions have won a championship, making it 2 total for the football teams I root for since the Super Bowl era Bills, both of them coming from Penn State ('94 Big 11 title; '05 Big 11 title).
  11. I'm not that big a fan of TJ, so I don't know how great the "pregame festivities" would have been. That game was a possibility for me just to get to meet the guys out west who don't come to the east coast to see the Bills. I wish I knew. I think Cowher saw that the Bengals were playing the Colts, figured that they'd lose (albeit correctly), then decided not to start Roethlisberger today, which allowed Maddox to lead the Steelers to a loss.
  12. Agreed, though we weren't feeling so great after the Saints game, were we? I only wasted $160 this weekend, watching the Ravens beat a listless Steelers team today.
  13. Congrats to the Big 11 champs, Penn State!!! (Hey, @ least it's not me whining and/or bitching about the Bills, right?)
  14. OSU may have won the Big 10, but Penn State won the Big 11 title! Seriously though, any of the 3 teams can talk smack to the other 2, since they took turns beating each other this season (OSU beat Michigan, who beat Penn State, who beat OSU).
  15. Relax, Bill. All is well. The lines are okay. It was just one bad game.
  16. I didn't watch that game, but I have seen him @ his not so great moments (even though they beat Syracuse, the 'Cuse got the better of him). Even so, the Texans would be stupid to pass on a guy w/ his talent. I really believe he's more than pure hype; he's the real deal.
  17. Ware? I think he's good, but I also think Derrick Johnson is doing a pretty good job in KC. And, let's not forget guys like Odell Thurman in Cincinnati and some kid from the University of Maryland. He was pretty awesome for the Terps last year. The name escapes me. I wish I could remember. Maybe if I could see some film of him playing now, it would come to me. Hmm...
  18. I know all too well, Lori. I told you, other than the OT loss to Iowa a few years ago, that was the most gut wrenching loss I've suffered through.
  19. I agree. My latest pick (the 2nd I've made for the Bills) is OT Jordan Gross. The pickings were getting slim @ OT, and I wanted to be sure to get a good one before I was relegated to choosing a Jonas Jennings type. I was really PO'd that someone took the guy I was going to take, SS Troy Polamalu, just before my pick, though.
  20. As much as I'd love to take the credit for recruiting a great group of WRs this year and bringing a very solid group of players the years prior (including LB Dan Connor and QB Anthony Morelli, who we'll see next year w/ Robinson gone), and having faith in JoePa, somehow I just can't say this is "my team". It is the team I root for passionately, as you know full well, but do I own them? Nah. Is it okay for a diehard fan to congratulate a legendary coach (how many other coaches before or since have been named SI's Sportsman of the Year?) for shutting up his critics? I'd like to think it is. But what do I know?
  21. Yep. I've been saying that he's the best player in college football all year long. The guy reminds me of a faster version of Marshall Faulk. How do you pass that up? Then again, if Houston has to choose between D'Brickashaw Ferguson or Bush, I still feel they should take Ferguson. Their line is just awful and is helping to ruin the career of David Carr and shorten the career of Domanick Davis.
  22. My game plan will be to hightail it to the nearest establishment that has Sunday Ticket (and, of course, beer: Mmmm.....beeeeeeeeeeer!!!) after attending the Steelers @ Ravens game w/ Psycho Ward 86.
  23. Still though, it was nice for them to consider interviewing Dallas' Pro Bowl SS after one of his rare big plays in coverage.
  24. Not a bad summary, though I would've put Ngata of Oregon ahead of Watson @ DT, and I probably wouldn't feature any WRs in the Top 10, as this year's class is pretty weak overall. Of their choices, I'd drop Holmes and put Winston, the OT from Miami (Fla) in their in his place. As for Stovall, I do think he could be a decent prospect @ WR for someone. I sure hope it's not the Bills though. We need to beef up our OL and DL more than we need to draft yet another WR.
