From what I've seen of both guys this preseason, Roethlisberger and Palmer look okay. Time will tell, of course, but they're looking alright so far.
-
Good thing there wasn't CNN around when Silver was in his heyday.
-
They key will be to neutralize Jason Taylor. If we can find a way to do that, or even slow him down to where he's not nearly as effective, we have a shot. Their secondary isn't that great, and their LBs, save Channing Crowder, aren't much better.

I Can't Wait Until The Home Opener!!!!
R. Rich replied to R. Rich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
25 Days And Counting!!! Hopefully, the time will fly by from now 'til then. We've got a long weekend coming up (Mommy's coming to visit!), then a short work week, then just 5 more work days for me until my week and a half vacation begins!! -
I don't hate. Hey, if I were a fan of "that school", life would be pretty good now. Things are definitely on the upswing for their program. As a Penn State fan who doesn't particularly like "that school", I must admit being a bit envious. I just hope that PSU can recover from their losses (especially in the secondary) to give them a good game this year. I planned on being there, but the ticket prices were just ridiculous. I'll catch 'em next year @ Beaver Stadium, where the prices can get a bit high, but not stratospheric.

Did the Steelers really sign Nance...

Why would Kevin Colbert even GARA about Mularkey? W/ the future of their coach up in the air, and w/ the pressures of trying to repeat, I think they have bigger fish to fry now. -
I Just Heard Schein and Wilcox talk about
R. Rich replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tune in from time to time, but I just can't listen when Jerry Rice is on. The guy's a horrible broadcaster. I'll be happy when Shannon Sharpe and Cris Carter return for their shows. They're funny, and informative. I was especially surprised to get that from Carter, who sucks on HBO's now unwatchable Inside the NFL. -

For me, Perkins is the tradition before going to ANY Bills home game. -

I don't even remember Walsh being a broadcaster. After hearing him over the years, I guess I'm thankful that I can't recall this. -
Humor him. We did.

Good work, then. See, people? That's how you post w/ integrity around here.

Nah. If we start to see posts about how much talent Travis Henry had and how William knew it all along, then I'd start to worry. -
Sirius alert: "Donte Whitner was a reach. What were the Bills thinking? Whine whine whine whine whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine...."

It's too bad Wilcots has to endure Schein. The guy has sounded so ignorant w/ his "Whitner was a reach" rants that still continue. Hey Adam, the pick was made 4 months ago; find something else to whine about. On the plus side, @ least Wilcots is on and not Jerry Rice. Ugh! I'm telling you, there's something about these 49ers when it come to broadcasting. They suck. Rice, Brent Jones, Cross, and the worst of them all, Ronnie Lott. -
Too bad they didn't draft the guy who can throw the football 70 yards from on his knees.
-
Jeff George was certainly no Todd Blacledge, but... All kidding aside, you're right. I did wonder how he was the top overall pick that year.
-
Ease up on 'em. They couldn't help it that nobody else responded to the thread @ that time. It's not like he called her out ("Hey Lana...") in the thread title or anything.

Turner Gill UB era debut to be televised
R. Rich replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be interested to see how UB does this year. -
My wife and I honeymooned @ Disney, Ed. We didn't stay @ one of the expensive places like the Yacht Club or the Grand Floridian, but we had a blast. We stayed @ the Port Orleans, and it was great. The thing about Disney is that you get first class service no matter which place you stay, so why spend the extra dough?

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for buying. -
Here we go again. The college football season is upon us, so it's time for the media and the coaches to annoint someone as the best team. Here's a link to ESPN's listing of both the AP and USA Today list of the top 25 teams. For those who can't access the link, here they are: AP TOP 25 1. Ohio State (35) 0-0 1,558 2. Notre Dame (10) 0-0 1,470 3. Texas (8) 0-0 1,411 4. Auburn (3) 0-0 1,395 5. West Virginia (6) 0-0 1,354 6. USC (3) 0-0 1,345 7. Florida 0-0 1,178 8. LSU 0-0 1,144 9. California 0-0 975 10. Texas (11) 0-0 1,378 3. USC (1) 0-0 1,348 3. Notre Dame (9) 0-0 1,348 5. Oklahoma (13) 0-0 1,320 6. Auburn (1) 0-0 1,206 7. West Virginia 0-0 1,202 8. Florida 0-0 1,054 9. LSU 0-0 1,037 10. Florida State 0-0 874 11. Miami (FL) 0-0 839 12. California 0-0 798 13. Louisville 0-0 785 14. Georgia 0-0 784 15. Michigan 0-0 778 16. Virginia Tech 0-0 591 17. Iowa 0-0 519 18. Clemson 0-0 493 19. Penn State 0-0 406 20. Oregon 0-0 373 21. TCU 0-0 270 22. Nebraska 0-0 261 23. Tennessee 0-0 216 24. Alabama 0-0 210 25. Texas Tech 0-0 198 Michigan could be better than where they're ranked. Too early to say, but they've got the potential to be a darkhorse this year in terms of the national title. Ohio State, on paper, looks to be the class of the field, but I still believe they're going to lose one or two. It's going to be a tough season for whoever wins the Big 11, and I don't think anyone will sweep their way to the title. Texas has another strong recruiting class coming in (Mack Brown can recruit), so they should be in the mix. Their conference is in a down period, so they shouldn't have a whole lot of difficulty getting to their conference final again. Cal and West Virginia are wild cards. I personally feel they will justify their rankings and could even surpass them, especially the Mountaineers. Their impressive bowl win last year when many (myself included) thought they didn't deserve to be there spoke volumes. Yeah, yeah, "that school" is going to be very good. They feature perhaps the best offensive player in the country in Quinn (though I think the guy on the team they'll face in their opener, Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson, could end up being more dominant) and if their defense improves, they'll be tough for any team to beat. Another outstanding recruiting class and the great strides they made in Year 1 of the Charlie Weiss era has to give the golden domers hope. Be on the lookout for OU. I think AD is ready to have a monster season and put them back in the spotlight. My team? Well, the return of Posluszny was great and I do think Morelli will be okay @ QB, but the loss of such a great secondary is going to sting. Up front, they'll be okay, but they're going to need for the young guys in the secondary to step up HUGE! We'll find out very shortly, when they travel to the midwest to play "that school" (way to gouge people w/ the high ticket prices!), just how much we'll miss Zemaitis, Lowry, Harrell, and Phillips. I'm really looking forward to this season. It should prove very exciting, as I can see quite a few teams in the mix for this year's national title.

I tivo'd it, but never watched it. I have College Game Day set to automatically record when it's on, but since I haven't watched it, I'm sure it's about to be erased, especially since I'm going to tivo the Bills-Browns game today. And for you fans of "that school", remember that you get plenty of love from all over the country: from your wealthy and vast alumni, from scores of media disciples, and, of course, from your own network deal. Cry us a river.
