  1. Tech gives a game effort, and has talent, but they're not a great team just yet. Your boys have a ways to go before getting to title contender status. They are showing great resolve tonight, and the defensive effort did pick up in the 2nd half, but they just don't look like a team ready for the title right now. But, there's a long way to go before the end of the season.
  2. Your point being? Hey, I'm not talking smack here. "That school" is ranked 2nd nationally, and expectations are very high for them this year as opposed to PSU, where there aren't very high expectations due to all the players lost from last year. If they truly believe they will win a national title w/ this defense, I believe they're sorely mistaken. A win is a win, to be sure, but there's much work needed for this team to actually be @ the point where they can win the national title.
  3. They threw the house @ Quinn in the first half, which is why they were sucking wind on that last drive. See the pathetic arm tackle attempts? So far, I think "that school" looks very out of sync offensively and on defense, they look plain bad. I still think they'll come out w/ a win tonight, but man, do they have some work to do before they can seriously entertain thoughts of winning the national title.
  4. How much of a "shot" was that? I didn't talk trash about "that school"; I simply said CJ is as good as it gets in terms of college wideouts. After seeing what he did for a half against "that school", how wrong do you feel I was? If Reggie Ball doesn't screw up, they have a shot @ an upset. Personally, I don't see it happening. I think that late TD will really change this game.
  5. Who indeed? I've had the Hooter's wings, and I don't mind them as much as some (Domino's and, especially, Pizza Hut-yuk!). BWW are okay. Psycho Ward 86 and I tried them for the first time when we went to Charlotte NC for a friend's wedding a few months ago. Not bad, but no Anchor Bar or Duff's.
  6. So true. The fact that there are "international rules" that FIBA uses is telling, isn't it? We play "their game" for a couple months out of the year, and we think we should dominate? It's blind arrogance. Our players don't care about fundamentals. If they did, you wouldn't have a league full of poor jump shooters and free throw shooters. They'd also be able to pass the ball a little better, too. But, hey, nobody can dunk like the US players can.
  7. Only because you ordered me to do so, sir.
  8. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, Raymond.
  9. While that could be true, it is encouraging to see Losman improving in both confidence and in decision making. Stats are secondary to that.
  10. Yeah, this team isn't nearly as poorly put together as the other embarassments that they've had in recent years. People just fail to realize the most obvious point: the rest of the world has closed the gap significantly. Deal w/ it.
  11. 23 Days And Counting!!! Man, am I psyched! Just 2 more weeks of work until I go on vacation, and 3 weeks from today, I'll be on my way up to Rochester for my first garbage plate of the season!
  12. Makes way too much sense. Besides, you can't take the kids there.
  13. Good one. If only they would use that in a movie...
  14. Only time will tell if he's really turning the corner and will be the guy the envisioned when they traded back into the first round to get him, or if he's the next Darick Holmes, who led the NFL in rushing in the preseason. Personally, I'm betting on it being more the former than the latter.
  15. If I were a Redskins fan, I'd be worried about it, too...........after next week.
  16. Whichever quack doctor the attorney will send you to will say you can't go to work. When I had my accident, the attorney I hired sent me to a quack that said I was to stay home "indefinitely". All I had was some soreness in my knee (not a whole lot) and my neck (even less). I stayed out for maybe a few days to a week, but there was no way I was going to stay out longer.
  17. Put it this way, Johnathan: it appears you were "more hurt" than I was when I had my accident back in 2000, and I got about $5,500.00 as a personal injury settlement. I also got about $12,500.00 in property damage (what they said the car was worth @ the time), which covered all but $2,500.00 of what I owed on the vehicle. Go see an attorney who has a clue.
  18. How anyone can be classified as an "expert" on fantasy football is beyond me.
  19. I thought Oakland signed him.
  20. Really. I liked his work in Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Rain Man, The Color of Money, and a few others, but he's really gone off the deep end in recent years.
  21. And to celebrate not having to deal w/ him, I've got a great suggestion: why not start a thread about him? 'Scuse me while I look for the threads bashing the others who have left TBD...
  22. Well, you could've gone to work...
  23. Are they made by the same company that made Rotten Tomatoes?
