  1. It’s really not much of a debate. Rosen has been the leader in the clubhouse since the college season started. Not much has changed. It’s all a matter of degrees, anyway. But what separates him is very important at the next level: ball placement. I like Darnold and Mayfield, too, but they aren’t as polished yet.
  2. Just saw him on last Sunday with Neil DeGrasse Tyson on ‘Star Talk’. Great episode. Great man. RIP, professor.
  3. I know several pro scouts that don't have Allen ranked above Darnold. Mayock is good, but he's not a scout. He just doesn't have the kind of time and freedom necessary to be where the rubber meets the road from August through January. He's the best at what he does, imo, but he is not a scout.
  4. I think the Bills will gladly part with both firsts as a starting point. And I have to think the extra 2nd and 3rd will be dangled as well as future assets. All depends on how much they value their target and how committed they are to the price. Nobody wants to go all in, but it's nice to have chips to play with.
  5. We need to add pick 21 to the scenario here. According to the value chart, pick #6 is worth 1,600. Picks 12 and 21 combined are worth 2,000. Not saying the Jets don't have ammo, they do. But we're in a good position to withstand a bidding war. But I don't think that's the issue. The issue is how far will the Giants, Colts, Broncos, be willing to drop if they have designs on a blue chip talent in the top ten.
  6. Depends on whether or not they get the most ready prospect in the draft, which would be Rosen. Mayfield's ability to assimilate to an under center QB shouldn't be that difficult, either, but he'd need more time. I think Darnold and Allen would fare the worst if forced to start right away or soon into the season.
  7. I understand that feeling, but it's what the market will bear at the present time. With the rookie wage scale and what star QB draft picks command, it's still commensurate with what a mediocre starting and decent backup make, anyway.
  8. It’s not so much that they’re great, it’s that they are the bridge QBs best able to keep you competitive while your star rookie bakes until ready.
  9. Acquiring Keenum doesn’t preclude the Broncos from targeting a QB high in the draft. The rookie wage scale would pay what decent backups make, anyway.
  10. Possibly our best player on defense? He’s not even in the conversation. Leading the league in tackles is a dubious stat. Brown is adequate at best.
  11. Receivers might give pause, but it comes down to money and the sales job the organization does.
  12. May as well just take an extra bye week and forfeit that game right now.
  13. I’d take any of Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield. But if I had to make a decision at gun point, it would be Rosen. He’s the most pro ready prospect by far from what I can gather.
  14. Lot to like about Darnold. Totally understand why he’d be at the top of some rankings.
  15. May want to recheck that rankings list on the site you linked.
  16. I’m not a huge fan of giving up a ton of picks, either, but this year is unique in that even if we did, we’d still have picks in each of the first three rounds. I don’t actually think it will happen, either. I’d just like to hang on to some higher picks this year while still grabbing our franchise QB.
  17. But Brees can carry them if he has to. I don't think Cousins is that kind of QB on a regular basis.
  18. Brees gets the Vikes to the show. Cousins can't hold his jock.
  19. That's true, imo. Browns can't gamble that we pass on the same guy they like most.
  20. I agree; it's damned impressive when NOBODY and their mothers thought we'd get the equivalent of a 2nd for him. Great job by Beane and Co.
  21. Just spit ballin' and using the most common draft value charts that show Indy's pick is worth 2200, I'm gonna go Mike Ditka and offer them: 2018 1st, #12 2nd, #53 3rd, #65 4th, #121 5th, #166 6th, #187 2019 1st Still leaves us with picks in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds this year. And with all that expected cap room next year, the loss of that first round pick can be mitigated in free agency. Not sure what the value of next year's #1 would be, but if it's at least 277 (and there's a decent chance it will be) then that gets us to the 2200 value of Indy's pick this year.
  22. Remains to be seen. Not our problem if he passes his physical in Cincy.
  23. I agree; we essentially got 2nd round value for Cordy and he's worth it if healthy, certainly. I wouldn't have minded keeping him, actually. But moving up those nine spots puts us on the threshold to make the bolder move into the top three. Nice.
  24. Nobody is going to argue that; it's the whole idea.
  25. If they get into the top three they are assured of getting a higher rated prospect coming out of college than either Watson or Mahommes.
