Rams' C John Sullivan to hit open market
K-9 replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasn’t able to watch much of the combine, but I happened to catch Juwaan Taylor’s mirror drill replay later on. I don’t know if I was more impressed with Taylor’s effort while not at 100% or Risner’s effort as the rabbit during that drill. -
His agility tests are certainly not disqualifying but it’s also not asinine to be concerned. It’s a red flag and I’m sure teams will want to see him perform it again at his pro day. And Moss’s 7.19 and Metcalf’s 7.38 are really not very similar. 2/10ths of a second over short distances is an eternity in pro football. Especially when matched against DBs with world class athleticism of their own. I give him credit for doing the drill because, like you said, many of the bigger receivers are seemingly advised to skip it. It’s a good sign of his competitive nature, too.

Rams' C John Sullivan to hit open market

I forgot about Risner. He’s one of my favorite players in the draft. He’s not an outside guy, imo, but I think he can play all three interior positions. And his “football character” is exactly what you want. He plays to the whistle on every play and is a pain in the ass the entire game. That’s infectious, too. -
Carolina WR Devin Funchess unlikely to be extended

No thanks. Somebody needs to hack Beane’s phone and remove Funchess’s number. -
Rams' C John Sullivan to hit open market

Yeah, I think that’s the only way to get him. 9 is way too high; we need an impact player at an impact position if we stay there. -

I’m hoping for Bradbury myself. I think he can step right in. -
Article for those obsessing about Metcalf

This is a good point. While his agility times raise a flag for me, his self discipline and work ethic to get into the shape he’s in speaks very well of him. I’m interested to see if the Bills have him in for a private meeting. Or if they attend his pro day. If his scripted pro day excludes him running certain routes, another flag will be raised. -
Our thoughts on Jim Kelly when he fled for the USFL

Perhaps the most persuasive thing he said was they’d make him the highest paid player in the league. -
VCR ALERT: Tues. 3/5/19: Steelers at Bills

That was the game Zach Brown punched his ticket out of town with a gutless performance so he could save himself for a healthy free agency. -

Yep, something like that. -

The ‘83 and ‘84 teams were bereft of talent on both sides of the ball to say the least. The core of our dynasty teams arrived in the ‘85 draft and beyond. Kelly and Talley were the only key pieces obtained before then, although Greg Bell ended up being a key chip in the trade for Bennett. Yeah, I think Kelly, as a young QB with a very limited supporting cast, would have struggled initially. -

Sucked at the time and we all felt like jilted prom dates. The “Ralph is Cheap” chorus was loud and persistent as the Bills botched the negotiation at the 11th hour. Turns out it was possibly the best thing to happen as Kelly’s time with Mouse Davis taught him how to read defenses and be a better QB.. He was far more pro ready by the time he got here. Given our team in ‘83, I believe he would have struggled for a few years vs. having the kind of off the charts success he had in Houston. -
Need 14 out of the remaining 32 points to reach that “magical” twenty point improvement over last season or a .438 clip. Problem is, we are playing at a .390 clip since November 27th, a whopping .012 improvement over last year’s debacle. I think they will be hardpresed to get there based on that 95 day sample since the streak ended.

Justin Houston released by Chiefs
K-9 replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. A posterized teabagging for all to see. -
That would be even funnier if it wasn’t so pitiful that Housley would offer up that EXACT kind of crap. He says something like that nearly every time after a loss. Darn, there I go again, thinking what what coaches say ALL THE TIME might actually offer an insight into his intellect. I’ve been told that whatever coaches say to the media shouldn’t be listened to.

How can we not be all in on Metcalf now?
K-9 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are better prospects than Metcalf available at other critical positions. I think he’s a risk, especially that high in the draft. -
Can I get a witness-a! Don't know about you, but I’m looking forward to seeing more of the scintillating Scandella/Hunwick pairing on D. Housely’s management of the forward lines continues to indicate just how clueless he is, too. Sam needs his own line and I’d like to see him with ERod and Mitts. And what is Thompson doing on a defensive line? Okposo needs to stay with Girgs and Larry; they are a force when playing together as everyone but Housley, apparently, has seen. Send Thompson to the A where he belongs and bring up a prospect we need to take a good look at and give him top 6 minutes for the rest of the year. He can return to Roch after our season is over.
