  1. Not giving up so much as accepting that this team very much resembles last year’s in terms of results and little about them resembles a bonafide playoff contender. And I have to respectfully disagree about how we are trending. We are the worst team in the league since our streak ended. That’s just not a positive trend no matter how I look at it.
  2. Not really. Housley led us to a .414 point clip last year. A 16 point REDUCTION from Bylsma’s last season the year before. Toss out that fluky but immensely enjoyable 10 game streak and he’s coaching at the same point clip and maybe a tad worse the last 26 games.
  3. I appreciate all the thought that went into your post. And who doesn’t like a wall of text about hockey that resembles a goalie pad!
  4. No, the talent is decidedly not there. Not in three quarters of the players and certainly not in the head coach.
  5. Bag skate their sorry asses from now until Monday. Housley won’t do that though. He’s a “player’s” coach. Love your idea to get Q in here. And I’d like to see Guhle, Smith, Olofsson, and Nylander borought up also. Don’t much care what dead weight you want to get rid of. It’s all the same.
  6. Start the youth movement. Let’s see what we have. They can’t be any more fragile than this current group.
  7. For pulling Hutts for the goalie he should have started in the first place? Punishing Eichel for being a minus 3? Nope. Zero credit given.
  8. Hutton sucks. Can’t be a surprise though. We’ve been a sub .400 team since coach clueless came aboard and we are a sub.400 team since the fluke streak. I ask again; what has anyone, ANYONE observed in Housley that suggests he’s a good coach? There are several examples to show he’s not a good coach, though. Anyway, I’m liking those UB Bulls!
  9. But not before his post game presser where he tells us how much he liked their game. How much jump we had early. How we had the better chances all night. How we dictated the play.
  10. I’ll give Housley points for letting Scandella play on his natural left side tonight. He learned his lesson from last time. No points for necessitating Pilut having to play on his off side though. I feel sorry for Pilut.
  11. It's baseball or the CFL for Murray.
  12. But on the bright side, Pilut gets to play his first game in two weeks with Scandella as his D partner. If we think Scandella is a train wreck at his natural LD position, he is a complete nuclear event on his off side. Housley again showing his utter ineptitude.
  13. It’s not my intention to pick a fight and piss you off here. It was an honest question and I was genuinely curious. Forget I even inquired. I guess I don’t see a 20 point improvement as any great accomplishment when in his first season, with essentially the same personnel, Housley led the team to a 16 point reduction from Bylsma’s squad the previous season. And I’m not looking at “line juggling” as some litmus test for greatness in a coach. The point is Housley shows little in the way of in game adjustments and makes it easier on the opposition as a result. And his game to game line up decisions plain suck. There is no excuse for keeping Pilut out of the lineup. The seven game home stand is going to dictate where this season ends up. I hope Housley is up for the task.
  14. John, what has Housley done since he got here that inspires confidence in you? Other than not having stars at every position? Is it his handling of personnel in the lineup every night? His in game decision making? His demeanor with the media? What is it you see in him that screams, “great coach?” I’ve been looking for a year and a half and I need your help in finding it. And it has to be more than we don’t need another HCing change so soon, imo. If a coach reveals himself to be less than ideal, why wait for the inevitable?
  15. Agree entirely about their regression. I think a major contributor to that is it doesn’t take long for opposing coaches to figure out what you can’t or are reluctant to do. And while much of that is on their coaches to counter, there is an element of sheer skill set involved as well.
  16. One would think Housley would stick with the hotter goalie, but you never know with him. I think I know what bothers me most about Housley and that is he is just not an in game tactician that gives opposing coaches anything to think about. Last night, for example, he gave Dallas the same look all night which made it easy for them to get desired matchups. Eichel’s line was clamped down pretty much all night and I give Dallas credit as that’s no easy task. But where is it written that Jack can’t get a shift or two with other forwards to change things up a couple times a game? Why not break established, easily figured out patterns from time to time? I see other teams do this a lot. For instance, why not have Eichel skate with Mitts and Sheary for a shift or two and force opponents to have to deal with that speed and puck skill combination? One of the things I miss most about Lindy. He was adaptable during games. Housley seems to have to wait and look at the tape after the fact. Frustrating .
  17. Not sure who the bigger douche is, Brees or Payton. I’ll have to ask Joe D, but I suspect he will answer Brees, whom he called called a “POS” during the last CBA negotiations. Payton and the Saints get ZERO sympathy from me given the heartache we’ve suffered over the years. This whiny bull crap is a loser’s lament. Nothing more.
  18. I hope you’re right, but I’m skeptical. There are 64 points left after tonight and we need 40 of them to have a realistic shot at making the playoffs. That’s a .625 clip from here on out. Not impossible, especially with the next 14 points available at home. But given what this team has shown the last season and a half, I just don’t see it. Hope I’m wrong.
  19. Disappointed with the loss as it drops us to .500 since the break and we had to be at .617 the rest of the way to realistically make the playoffs. But I’m not disappointed with the effort at all. It was a tight, defensive game from puck drop and given we played last night and got to Dallas late, it was an honest effort. We need to be a .700 club during the upcoming seven game home stand. Must. Make. Hay. I pray coach clueless can somehow impart that urgency to his players.
  20. But how else is Pilut gonna learn other than sitting in the press box while our worst Dman plays instead. I just loved Housley’s crap when, confronted with the question of why he is sitting our best Dman according to the metrics, he spewed some bs about analytics being nice and all but it’s about WINNING every night. Really? Scandella’s gaffes have cost us more games than Pilut’s this year. Dereliction of duty on Housley’s part.
  21. Jets over the Colts. Chiefs over the Vikings. Screw you NFL, the AFL can beat your ass. Eagles over Pats***
  22. My view of Housley is based on his entire body of work since he came aboard. I’m just not impressed. And yes, I know he doesn’t have a roster full of stars, but every coach would be a great coach if that were the case. I think he’s an interim coach and not the one who will get us to the cup eventually. About those “filler” players, I agree; they are taking up spots until other prospects take over. But them not helping us is just as bad as them hurting us much of the time. Their lack of contribution costs us games.
