I agree, dane is cb2 when Tre comes back as it stands, but make no mistake about, there is a 3 man audition for the next 3+ games. If Benford or Elam prove to be better over the next 3 games (which isn’t that great of a stretch). If one of the rookies plays lights out, snatching the spot isn’t impossible. They just have to play light out.

When Tre returns, it’s going to be a battle for snaps. Seems like Dane has the lead atm, but Benford and Elam are going to make this a dogfight. Reading this scouting report on Benford has me thinking he could be the best fit for playing zone. When we play man, Elam a better choice. Doing that telegraphs our defense, so we’d have to still mix it up. But can he beat out Dane who has an important year of experience and is playoff tested? I’m think I’m pulling for Benford because he’s a jackhammer with a knack for getting his hands on the ball. He better be. If he sustains this level of play for the next 8-10 years he’ll be the best qb ever. Brady may have more rings in the end, but it will be clear that 17s best was better than anyone else’s.

I’m feeling the same way, but have to be a be wary that the Rams OL is garbaggio and other offensive lines could give us a problem. I doubt it happens, I have a lot of confidence in this group and I’m glad that we invested in them. 4th time’s a charm. I think. Stay healthy

This is why I’m against having so many ST only players. We rarely punt and we have a kicker that can kick it out of the endzone every play. We rarely have to play KO or PR coverage.

But that doesn’t mean he can’t win. Who’d you rather have, burrow or Allen mahomes, Rodgers? Stafford or allen, mahomes or Rodgers? I wouldn’t take burrow of stafford over allen, burrow, or Rodgers…. But they were the guys playing for the SB. They won games with the season on the line. Did you see mahomes and Rodgers play in the 2nd half of their season ending games? Season on the line….not just game on the line. Many QBs are capable of winning the SB without being considered elite.

I wouldn’t draft most RBs in rd 1. Sorry, Breece Hall isn’t one of those guys. Nfl execs agreed. I wanted AP and Lynch in the 07 draft. i still need to watch more Bijan to see if he’s one of those guys, but he looks like a game changing back from what I’ve seen so far.

More than anything, it shows that Beane wants to take care of the players that do things right. Poyer has done everything right. He got rewarded. Maybe not rewarded like he was hoping for, but he wasn’t hung out to dry. i think an extension will depends on how much he’s willing to accept. If he wants 13-14M+ per year, he’s gone imo. We have no clue what he’s looking for at this point, just that he wants to be compensated for his all pro play and wants to retire a bill. If that is taking 22M gtd over the following 2 seasons, I think he may be back. If he wants more, idk

The point would be…mattison is a looking free agent, like Motor. We aren’t going to pay him. Motor knows the system. Motor is a part of our culture. Motor is successful when his OL doesn’t suck. Motors ability as a RB is better than you think. motor averaged 4.6 ypc last season…. Mattison, 3.7. The guy mattison plays behind averaged 4.7 in the same offense. Motor has never averaged under 4.4. You’re looking for the Josh Allen of RBs…. The prototype. This offense doesn’t need that. put down the pipe and recognize
