  1. There are many reasons why the liberal media won’t cover this extensively. And it’s taken a weird turn as progressives claim that Anthony was standing his ground. It doesn’t seem like this was self-defense at all, and the arrest report paints more of a murder picture. Some disturbed person also set up a GoFundMe page for Anthony, which has since been deactivated. The fact that it was established in the first place is absurd.
  2. 'What Peace Through Strength Looks Like'—Hegseth Visits Panama Canal, Vows to End China's Influence by Bob Hoge Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited the Panama Canal Tuesday and had some tough talk for China, which the Trump administration has repeatedly argued has way too much influence over the crucial U.S.-built waterway. The U.S. will not allow any country to threaten the canal, Hegseth vowed: I want to be very clear—China did not build this canal, China does not operate this canal, and China will not weaponize this canal. Together with Panama in the lead, we will keep the canal secure and available for all nations through the deterrent power of the strongest, most effective, and most lethal fighting force in the world. https://redstate.com/bobhoge/2025/04/08/what-peace-through-strength-looks-likehegseth-visits-panama-canal-vows-to-end-to-chinas-influence-n2187641
  3. Report: India Wants ‘Equitable Trade Deal,’ Not ‘Confrontation,’ After Trump Tariffs An Indian government official reportedly told Bloomberg News on Sunday that his government is “unlikely to immediately retaliate against President Donald Trump’s tariff imposition.” Instead, New Delhi hopes to work out a deal to reduce tariffs and trade barriers on both sides, according to the media outlet. The unnamed bureaucrat expressed India’s desire to seek “dialogue and not confrontation” and “work toward a balanced and equitable trade deal with the U.S.” https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/foreign-trade/india-to-focus-on-trade-deal-avoids-retaliation-on-us-tariffs/articleshow/120036024.cms https://www.breitbart.com/asia/2025/04/07/report-india-wants-equitable-trade-deal-not-confrontation-after-trump-tariffs/
  4. DOGE Official Confirms What We've Known All Along: Illegal Immigrants Are on Medicaid and Voting by Becky Noble Democrats love to portray themselves as the compassionate ones. They just want to help people, especially the poor and downtrodden. When you ask them about illegal immigration, they will tell you that these are just poor people looking for a better life for themselves and their families. That's why they were perfectly okay with a wide-open southern border and letting millions of people into the country. It was all about compassion. However, as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) continues to dig into the twisted story of America's finances, we are finding out that the compassion ruse is just that, another Democrat party scheme. https://redstate.com/beckynoble/2025/04/08/doge-official-confirms-details-of-what-weve-known-all-along-illegal-immigrants-on-medicaid-and-voting-n2187612
  5. Seems like we have gotten off of the point of the thread. Now what was it? Oh yes. Frankie posited that President Trump would cave under pressure and withdraw his tariffs. . . . . . . . . . last Monday. .
  6. We should never have let it get to this point.
  7. CHANGE: Miners Cheer As Trump Signs Orders to Bring Back Energy Dominance According to the Trump team, the orders will: — Reinvigorate America’s beautiful clean coal industry — Lift Biden-era restrictions on coal plants — Strengthen the reliability and security of the electric grid — Protect American energy from overreach by radical leftists in the states It will also expedite leases for coal mining on federal lands. What a stark contrast with the clueless Biden. https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2025/04/08/trump-signs-executive-order-on-coal-n2187634
  8. 'There's a New Sheriff in Town!' Linda McMahon Lays the Smack Down on Men in Women's Spaces The left in America is surely picking some strange hills to die on. When they are not protesting and conducting lawfare to keep illegal immigrant criminals from being deported, they are still defending terrorism, both abroad and here in the United States. But of all of these hills, perhaps none is more baffling than the left's insistence that men belong in women's sports and private spaces. One day in the future, we're certain that historians will look back on the left's obsession with gender ideology in the early 21st century and simply say, 'WTF?' Fortunately, the forces of sanity are slowly but surely winning the ideological battle over 'gender,' which is now an 80/20 issue in America, on the side of normalcy. Even worse news for the left is that the Trump administration 2.0 is done messing around with this nonsense and is putting the full force of the federal government behind the President's executive order mandating that men stay out of women's spaces. This morning, Education Secretary Linda McMahon laid down the law on X with a short but VERY direct post. https://twitchy.com/grateful-calvin/2025/04/08/theres-a-new-sheriff-in-town-linda-mcmahon-lays-the-smack-down-on-men-in-womens-spaces-n2411101
  9. Hooked on Phonics: Mississippi's Education Reform Pays Off As It Leads Nation In NAEP Test Scores The Left likes to pretend red states are backward, uneducated enclaves of MAGA-hat wearing Nazis. They'll tell you all day long how they are smarter, morally superior, and just plain better people than folks in flyover country. (often voiced by the lowlives here on PPP) Except we've seen what happens in blue cities and blue states, and it's not superior to anyone or anything. So it's going to really tick off the Left when they see that Mississippi is leading the way when it comes to test scores: And Oregon is dead last. Oregon did away with testing and graduation requirements in the name of 'equity', which just means every kid who comes out of Oregon's public schools is equally illiterate. https://twitchy.com/amy-curtis/2025/04/08/mississippi-school-test-scores-soar-n2411110
  10. Sad Trombone: Cory Booker Gets Some Bad News on Multiple Fronts After 'Marathon Speech' Stunt It's been a mere week since Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) staged a filibuster-like stunt with a speech that had the media swooning and salivating, especially once it was confirmed that Booker officially broke the record for the longest speech ever given in the Senate. For instance, the AP gushed that he "was holding the Senate floor with a marathon speech that lasted all night and well into Tuesday morning in a feat of endurance to show Democrats’ objections" to President Trump and his DOGE agenda. As GOP strategist Scott Jennings pointed out, however, it was unclear what the "point" of Booker's speech was since he wasn't stopping any proposed legislation nor any Trump nominees. The speech did impress pollster/author Frank Luntz, who bizarrely proclaimed it "may have changed the course of political history" and "puts Cory Booker as one of the leaders for the Democratic Party for 2028." But recent polling on possible Democrat 2028 contenders taken just before he gave the speech shows that Booker's got a major uphill climb if he wants to have any chance of making that happen: Also https://redstate.com/sister-toldjah/2025/04/08/bad-news-for-cory-booker-n2187639

  13. Trump Scores Major Win as Supreme Court Allows Mass Firings of Federal Employees to Stand The Supreme Court has halted an order by a superannuated, Clinton-appointed San Francisco judge that would have required the Trump administration to reinstate some 16,000 probationary employees it had fired from the Pentagon, the Treasury, and the Agriculture, Energy, Veterans Affairs, and Interior Departments. The order places the reinstatement on hiatus until the Supreme Court has a chance to rule on the issue, but things look grim for the Resistance. The vote was 6-2, with only hardened anti-Trumpers Sotomayor and Jackson voting to sustain the judge's order. The court also noted that it didn't think the plaintiffs in the case, the American Federation of Government Employees and the AFL-CIO, had standing. "The District Court’s injunction was based solely on the allegations of the nine non-profit-organization plaintiffs in this case," said the unsigned order, "But under established law, those allegations are presently insufficient to support the organizations’ standing." This case originated in March when the Office of Personnel Management issued an order directing agencies to terminate workers in term or probationary status. Somehow, this case ended up in San Francisco, which only has the most tenuous connection to any of the agencies named in the suit. One might suspect that judge shopping was going on. https://redstate.com/streiff/2025/04/08/trump-scores-major-win-as-supreme-court-allows-mass-firings-of-federal-employees-to-stand-n2187616
  14. MICHAEL WALSH: Tariffs Aren’t the Issue. All the fuss and geschrei over Donald Trump’s Great Tariff War really is much ado about nothing — but it’s also about everything. To begin, what it’s not about is tariffs. What it is about is repatriating American manufacturing and thereby restoring Great Power status to the U.S.A. Tariffs are merely the mechanism by which to get the ball rolling. Adam Smith’s hidden hand is about to come roaring back into play. The naysaying Left — which never met a tax hike it didn’t love — has jumped on tariffs as a “tax,” which of course they are. A tax on foreign-made goods coming into the country. A tax that — unlike most taxes — you can avoid by not buying the product. The U.S. managed to get along perfectly well from the presidencies of George Washington to that of William Howard Taft (a “progressive,” along with Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson) financed by tariffs and excise taxes, with only occasional, and temporary, taxes on income. It was not until the passage of the 16th amendment in 1913, during the Wilson administration — the first of the “progressive era” amendments that also included the 17th, 18th, and 19th, all of which need to be repealed; one down three to go — that the notion of taxing labor, previously and correctly deemed unconstitutional, reared its inhuman, statist head. And practically from that day on, America plunged into a debt spiral from which it has never recovered. https://the-pipeline.org/the-column-tariffs-arent-the-issue/ Read the whole thing. .
