Does Mahomes really get preferential treatment from officials?

Didn't really want to start a new thread. So this happened recently. NFL fires three officials in ‘accountability’ crackdown By Matt Ehalt The NFL appears to be cracking down on shoddy refereeing. The league fired three officials in what footballzebras.com described as vice president of officiating training and development Ramon George “advancing accountability among the officiating ranks,” following a postseason that included several notable referee controversies. In a deviation from normal standards, though, the referees received soft landings, being sent to college football power conferences due to George’s maneuvering, per the report. Dismissed officials reportedly had no such landing spot previously. The NFL moved on from second-year umpire James Carter, third-year line judge Robin DeLorenzo and first-year down judge Robert Richardson, according to the report. Carter served as an alternate official during the wild-card round this past season, with footballzebras.com speculating it may have been due to injuries, while DeLorenzo did not earn any postseason assignments and Richardson could not referee in the postseason due to his freshman status. These moves come as George has pushed for using “data as a performance guide,” a source told the outlet. “The culture is changing, it’s changing rapidly,” one official told footballzebras.com. “It’s changing into a competitive environment where everybody’s equal. There are no favorites. There’s no favoritism. There’s none of that; it’s all about performance.” The article did not mention any specific issues with this trio, but NFL refereeing came under the microscope this year, particularly regarding perceived bias toward the Chiefs. The Chiefs benefitted from several questionable calls against the Texans in the divisional round before receiving a generous spot on what proved to be a game-changing fourth-down stop against the Bills in the AFC Championship game. Panama and US lock in new security pact for Canal as China tensions simmer by Jasmine Baehr The United States and Panama have officially signed a new defense and security pact aimed at reinforcing control over the Panama Canal, a move that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth claims is critical to pushing back against China’s growing grip in the region. In a press release posted Wednesday night on X, the Panama Canal Authority confirmed that Panama’s Minister for Canal Affairs and Hegseth signed a joint declaration that reaffirms Panamanian sovereignty and outlines new military cooperation. The deal "reaffirms respect for, and the recognition of, Panamanian sovereignty over the interoceanic waterway," the Canal Authority stated. https://www.foxnews.com/world/panama-us-lock-new-security-pact-canal-china-tensions-simmer

Sadly Steve I don’t believe that there is any such animal. CNBC probably comes the closest, but, as you would expect, NONE of the “mainstream” media are reliable. That is why I go to so many different sites to compare. My concern with the dismissive attitude towards X is that most of the posters here don’t realize that the tweets are being posted for their link to an actual article and not for whatever quip the person wrote on top. .

News out today. The Chinese Spy Balloon? Team Biden Held Secret Talks With Beijing About Fear of Notifying the Public Mike Miller The report you're about to read would normally be unbelievable. A U.S. president's administration holding private talks with Communist Chinese officials about the administration's concerns over the potential impact on this country's relationship with China if the origin of a Chinese spy balloon and its intent were disclosed to the American public — all of which occurred before the public was notified about the spy balloon. Yet, given that the president was Joe Biden, who was allegedly the "Big Guy," as in head of the Biden Crime Family™ whose "alleged" ties with Chinese Party officials were widely reported, the story isn't unbelievable in the least. As exclusively reported by Fox News on Wednesday, Biden State Department officials held private talks with Beijing counterparts about the balloon, which crossed into U.S. airspace in January 2023 — and discussed the implications the balloon's publicity would have on the relationship between the U.S. and China, according to Trump administration officials. Here's the timeline U.S. officials identified the spy balloon infiltrating U.S. airspace on Jan. 28, 2023, and an Air Force fighter jet shot down the Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina Feb. 4, 2023, two days after the Pentagon issued a statement on the matter. Biden officials held discussions with Beijing Feb. 1, 2023, about the balloon, and discussed the impact disclosing the balloon to the public could have on the relationship with China, internal State Department documents show, two Trump administration officials told Fox News Digital. Clearly, the Biden administration was more concerned about the impact of the balloon on Americans than about the balloon itself and its intelligence-gathering capabilities. I doubt that the above is technically treasonous, but what else should we call it? https://redstate.com/mike_miller/2025/04/09/the-chinese-spy-balloon-turns-out-team-biden-held-secret-talks-with-beijing-before-notifying-the-public-n2187665 https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-admin-held-private-talks-beijing-chinese-spy-balloon-ahead-notifying-public-officials-say -

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted

Self-Awareness FAIL: Jim VandeHei Blames Death of the Legacy Media on 'A Couple of Bad Apples' The best part about the dead legacy media becoming completely irrelevant in recent years, but particularly since Donald Trump won re-election last November, is that they absolutely do not understand the reason why. Of course, it's possible that some of them DO know the reason and simply refuse to say it out loud, but that might be even funnier. They died because they refused to be honest with people, and yet they still refuse to be honest. Yesterday, Jim VandeHei, the founder of Politico and Axios, sat down for an interview with Bari Weiss of The Free Press on her podcast and, in the clip below, lamented the destruction of traditional media and outlined the reasons he believes that no one trusts them anymore.
