Torrey Smith be nice for the season but not long term. He's a modern day Alvin Harper.I'm not positive and I honestly don't want to google it. But, I'm pretty sure we only have around 4 mil in space. Torrey Smith would be prorated to around 3 mil, so he would fit. I can't imagine Romo would as well with his contract.
-
Romo is too fragile at this point of career plus Jerry loves him so doubt he'd be available yet to me his contract the biggest reason not to add him. We're stuck with Tyrod til Week 16. I can't see him getting the extension either.Trade for Romo before the trade deadline, keep developing Cardale Jones and we're in business.

Goodwin had less yards and less catches yet has two more TDs than Hogan this season. He has been used a lot for deep balls.. he was averaging like 20 yards a catch.
-
bortles had a pretty good year last year too. threw some picks but i thought he was taking the step to being their guy. now he's awful again.
The Jags have struggled running the ball which am sure hurts Blake or maybe it's because he's in his second season under Nathaniel Hackett as his coach. Tough to say but even last year a lot of his numbers were inflated because in garbage time as his completion percentage and sack numbers were still sub par last year.
-
The system didn't fail him the Buffalo defense did!!!
Tyrod had better stats than Tallywhacker!! In that game, Tyrod had one TD passing one TD rushing! Dunno how much more he can do as he can't pass the ball and catch it at the same time!
The biggest difference in the game was the Bills defense allowing Ajayi 214 yards rushing. It's like the Bills defenders forgot how to tackle in the fourth quarter!
Outside of the big play to Goodwin he/we did next to nothing on offense in the second half. I mean after the Goodwin TD sure Miami marched down the field and got a TD but we were still up three, and how does TT respond? Two drives and he gains us 9 yards through the air.

Zach was signed to a one year deal for a reason. I think he gets re-signed for 7-8 mil a year and he'd be worth it.
I don't know why you don't think Darby can be a #1 though?
If Zach wants more than $5m then I say let him go and bring in another cheap journeyman veteran to compete with Ragland for the spot opposite Preston in 2017. To me Gilmore is a key cog in this defense, he might not be worth a top 5 contract but think we'll franchise him as if we don't some team with a lot of cap space would spend some money on him. Lorax knows his role and think if we give him a fair deal for 2 - 3 years to be a backup LB (as think Lawson starts in 2017). I don't like losing Woods but we might as could see him getting a contract like Sanu got from the Falcons from a WR needy team which could mean drafting a WR in the 1st Round. Corey Davis is a guy I could see drafting pending his combine.
In terms of QB, if we make the playoffs then Tyrod stays but EJ a tough one to figure, as think he's a solid backup but if he truly wants to start then he's gone and we have to find a vet to replace him. The UFA isn't pretty for guys I would want starting long term but a serviceable backup to play in a game or two that can let Cardale to further develop might be had but could cost $4m.

I haven't read Sal's link but am pretty Shaq was never IR'd because his injury happened prior to camp began so pretty sure he was designated for PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) Reserve which similar but not the same as Injured Reserve.

Can people start posting links to this stuff. As I can't believe Rex is dumb enough to confuse a kicker for a punter but crazier things have happened.

I posted this in the drafting QB every year thread......Whaley has done a great job outside the QB position so how do we get someone who knows what a QB is actually supposed to look like?
I think Whaley is from the same school of thought I am. Which is build the team outside the QB that way you're not relying on that QB or losing valuable cap room on a QB. It's like the Steelers did in the early 90s did with Neil O'Donnell/Kordell Stewart. Yet Whaley's also not hedging his bets with Tyrod with the last contract he gave him.
-
If Zach Brown and Lorax keep up their current production no doubt Whaley gets it.

Anyone been watching You're the Worst on FX?

In terms of streaming music I prefer Spotify to Pandora but if playing things for my tv (outside of Youtube) will say I also found Accuradio app is pretty decent free app to stream music with as they have some good premade playlists and the ability to skip as much as you want.

Posted this in another thread, but it makes sense since we're talking money here....
Here's what the Bills currently have invested at ILB:
Ragland: ~$1.4M/yr through 2020
PBrown: $790k this year, $930k next year
ZBrown: $1.25M this year
Spikes: $760k this year
That's less than $5M/yr for all of our ILBs combined.
I know Whaley talks about having only the 4 pieces where they look to make investments, but I have to imagine there is room around to re-sign both Browns, and keep some ILB depth around through the next 4 seasons.
Spikes isn't a starter, Lorenzo Alexander is and he's been great considering we first signed him to play ST only.

RB Jeremy Langford or WR Michael Thomas

We'll have to see how much money we have left, but you make good points. If we have to cut people to make either deal, who are we cutting? I think that is the real question and does that deal improve or just swap players.
Kruger is a bit older so if I had to prioritize for depth, I'd go with Coples. We'll see. Get ready as today and Friday will see a to of guys lose their job and will any of these guys be worth it. I like your point that both of the above players can easily step into Rex's system.
If look at the numbers Kruger's has had better big seasons than Coples yet Coples has been more consistent. That said I think either one of these guys would be a nice add over Albright or Biermann. I know Albright has been talked about a lot but he didn't do much on the field and think he needs to gain 20 lbs to be a more effective LB so think he's more of a PS type guy.

I've never seen Angie Tribeca. I really enjoyed the whole season though. They have a pretty funny cast.
I saw Rhys Darby was in it and enjoyed him as Murray in Flight of the Conchords so I might give it a chance.
-
Basically. I'm a big fan of Zach Cregger (Whitest Kids You Know) so I was sold as soon as I saw he was in it.
Is it better than Angie Tribecca? as admit I liked the first few episodes but than it got stale and worn out.
-
I'm 3 episodes deep (finally) into Mr. Robot. I thought I remembered a thread about the show awhile back but couldn't find it. Anyone else watched?
I am, as binged the whole first season earlier this year yet I need to catch up on S2 as only seen the first 2 episodes and think they are 7 episodes in.
-
If not for Adolphus then this would be remembered as the draft that produced zero starters year 1 on a team that had a lot of holes to fill. Kudos to the OP for being able to see the glass as half full
I guess it was a good thing that he didn't draft DT Andrew Billings which many felt was better suited for this defense.
-
Julio Jones has been going number 2 in most of the mocks I've been in. As I draft 3rd overall in a 12 team PPR.I don't want it....either 1st pick (Antonio Brown) or I'd rather be later in 12 team league.
Who should I go with at #2? 12 team league 1/2 ppr.
I hate this spot.

Bush would make sense as one of those after Week 1 signings that isn't guaranteed a contract type deals that is asked to step in and play 2nd fiddle to McCoy until Karlos Williams is back from suspension or possibly serve as a depth RB and primary punt returner. I think he could also give an added dimension on 3rd downs similar to what Ronnie Harmon did in his career with the Chargers. As it allow McCoy to get mileage on his tires and possibly play out his contract.
-
Not, as how many times have we seen QBs show good things one year and not so good in their second (see Doug Flutie, JP Losman, Drew Bledsoe, Ryan Fitzpatrick) am sure the list is even longer but I say Tyrod has to prove last year wasn't a fluke. Yet this far I'd say he is reminiscent of David Garrard's 2007 season and/or a poor man's Steve McNair. Yet the only difference is Tyrod isn't as bulky as those guys and might be more susceptible to injury. I roll the dice and see if he produces again and if he does then give him the money he wants. If not draft a QB in the early rounds next year to compete with Cardale to be our next young QB to try and develop.

Drafting a QB every year, in practice

I wouldn't say drafting one in Round 1 a smart move yet drafting one in Rounds 4 - 7 not a bad thing as teams like the Steelers, Packers under Ron Wolf and the Eagles and Jaguars had some success in it as they were able to find guys later that could be moved for other assets later or try to develop someone. The Bills on the other hand haven't drafted many QBs. Yet in watching Whaley as a GM he seems to be building the team around the QB not necessarily looking for a QB which might lead us to draft more QBs until we find one.
