cant vouch for accuracy but this was on an eagles fan site
Darwin Walker-Walker signed a 7 year, 11.25 million dollar extension during the 2002 season that included a 4 mil signing bonus prorated over 7 years. His cap numbers are as follows:
2002: $1,371,429 (800K base salary+571,429 proration)
2003: $1,021,429 (450K base salary+571,429 proration; $3,428,571 dead money if cut)
2004: $1,571,429 (1 mil base salary+571,429 proration; $2,857,142 dead money if cut)
2005: $1,671,429 (1.1 mil base salary+571,429 proration; $2,285,714 dead money if cut)
2006: $1,771,429 (1.2 mil base salary+571,429 proration; $1,714,285 dead money if cut)
2007: $1,871,429 (1.3 mil base salary+571,429 proration; $1,142,857 dead money if cut)
2008: $1,971,429 (1.4 mil base salary+571,429 proration; $571,428 dead money if cut)
From Walker's Rotoworld.com profile, it seems to match what the fan site says so sounds like it could be accurate.
CONTRACT INFO: 2007: $1,300,000, 2008: $1,400,000, 2009: Free Agent -
Bills Daily draft write up claimed McCargo has NT potential. Unfortunately, when I read the write ups 2-3 years later they are usually pretty off........
I remember reading somewhere last year that our D-line coach (Kollar) felt McCargo could play either spot. Time will tell.
-
I heard that they are bringing Carl Lewis in for a tryout. They can sign him for the veteran minimum.
Just as long they don't ask him to sing the national anthem.
high motor white guys?that's the code for finding DEs not DT's

trade down?!?! sit at 12 and grab Willis!!
or Leon Hall or Marshawn Lynch.
-
"SHUT THE F**K UP DONNY!!!"
Thanks now am crossing up flash backs of Mularkey's quote about getting cheese burgers in Seattle? and a movie staring John Goodman and Jeff Bridges.
-
they both competed in Track and Field (shotput) in college.
FWIW McCargo did in high school as per his BB.com profile
Perhaps we've cracked the code for what the Bills use to get DTsAlso played baseball, basketball, and ran track…McCargo advanced to the state championships in the shot put and discus as a junior, placing fourth in the discus. -
This trade will be a good indicator of Marv's magic. The Eagles seem to always play close to the vest and very stingy. If he can get a third for both of them, I'd be psyched.
I hate to play devil's advocate but the Eagles also seem to have great timing in letting go of vets for younger players at the right time. see Vincent, Bobby Taylor and Corey Simon as recent examples.

using a quartile system of bad,weak/unproven,solid and good how do you see it ? O-line-solid,qb-solid,wr-solid,rb bad. Total offense around 15 to20 in the league representing improvement. D line solid,LB bad, secondary solid. Total defense around 20 to 25 alittle improvement. Special teams good around 5 to 10. My view assumes we get a nice RB, LB,CB,LB with are top picks and depth with the rest. That puts us as a young team that plays hard and wins around 7 to 9 games.
Agreed! I'd think a predraft assesment of 7-9 to 9-7 as fair as any right now.
-
Well they have two #1 picks they want to play plus Reagor who was pretty good before the injury.
Indeed but think Broderick Bunkley is still a question mark for them but Mike Patterson seems to be the real deal (despite his lack of height).
-
My question before we say the Bills are geniuses is this: Why was Walker available? Great salary dump though.
From NFC team reports: Roster tweaking continues
By signing Montae Reagor, the team has depth at defensive tackle and another player to use in the rotation. Reagor is undersized but has good quickness and was as a good pass rusher before a car accident left him out for the 2006 season with a severe eye injury. coaches are confident that Reagor is healthy and will provide a good No. 3 tackle, especially on passing downs. That could mean the departure of either Sam Rayburn or Darwin Walker, both of whom the team is actively trying to trade. -
I'm officially holding my breath waiting for that one.
Then perhaps
would have been a better smiley choice of course it be better if was blue or maybe it's in Jets green?
-
Did we just pick up another 3 technique DT?
I had this very same question yesterday as he seems to fit 3 more than NT all things considered.
-
Solid, veteran D-Line prescense. Not a true difference-maker though.
What do walker and tripplett have in common?(bonus points for anyone who can point it out)
They both play DT for the Buffalo Bills?
that's actually not bad for a DT. They just don't get a whole lot of tackles.True in he ranked about 43rd amongst DT with 36 tackles last year in and considering most Ds play two DTs that's slightly below average if consider the 32nd ranked DT average but when factor in his sacks would say all things considered he's above average.
-
Is Walker any good?
He's averaged just under 2.0 tackles a game for his career and posted 26.5 sacks over the past 5 seasons. All things considered I'd say he's above average for his position and like the trade.
WGR 55 just reported it on their news. Sorry no linkI updated my post as was about to look at the message board and found it.

EDIT: Before anyone asks it's at http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/default.jsp If don't see it click on Top Story.
The owners may be away, but that didn't prevent the Eagles from completing a trade Monday night as the team acquired linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb from the Bills in exchange for defensive tackle Darwin Walker and a conditional draft pick in 2008. More details to follow ... -
I would kiss Marv's feet if he got Walker and a late 2nd round pick for Spikes. I would hate to see Spikes go, but, that would be a tough deal to turn down, for a rebuilding team....
Reread the post it says
Dude says: "Supposedly Darwin Walker and a late [2nd day pick, or conditional 08 pick. It hasnt been confirmed yet though."In other words Walker and likely a 6th Round pick, which I think is fair value. Of course a conditional 2008 pick would be sexier and maybe allow greater compensation unless the conditons also factor how Walker produces for us which could make things even and not net us anything.
-
Henry was a second. As for Spikes, I believe he will have 3 more very good years. With him leaving, we have two strong safeties playing as our OLBers. I liked Ellisons performance alright, but you gotta wonder how long a guy like him and Coy friggin' Wire can hold up as full time starters at LB. I wouldn't bet against TWO day one Liners at all..................
I think he meant that Henry netted us a 3rd in return. All for a player that was in his prime and coming off a strong season ie not the question mark that is TKO and the perennial back up that is Holcomb.
-
Travis Henry was a third. Spikes has hardly anything left. The guy appears to be done. Do you think he'll recover. I don't
and Moulds was a fifth and promptly cut by the Texans one year later. We can hope for a day one pick for both of them but we might be lucky for a 4th but to be honest I'd much see Darwin Walker back. As rather see a player back then continuingly adding holes with no replacements in site.
-
The longer you hear of no deal done, the better. This means that the Giants and the Eagles (and whoever--Frisco, Dallas, Baltimore and New Orleans OUGHT to be looking...) are in a discussion for TKO's services. This can end up being a 4th, or a 5th this year with incentives for next year.
Giants have the earlier picks, so I root for them.
BTW, a 5th on Draft Tek would be somebody like:
Darius Walker, Brandon Jackson, Kolby Smith, RB
Tim Duckworth, OG
Mike Walker Cent Florida WR
Joe Newton, TE
Corey Hilliard OT
Mason Crosby P/K
I'd love to secure Jackson that late but really think he could end up a late day 1 early day 2 draft pick.
-
The Bills do too.
They will trade with Houston to draft him at #10.
Just like we were able to secure the #10 pick from Houston in 2004 to jump over the Steelers in order to acquire Ben Roethlisberger? of course then we picked #13 which is so much more valuable then pick 12.

McGahee's average against teams not named the Jets was 3.3. Again to counter your "a rookie would need to get more than 70 YPG" argument, I said it would be a RB-by-committee. And again, the O-line has been upgraded.
The Bills had their chance at Rod Hood and either didn't want him or he didn't want them.
Ironically enough A-train's average against teams not named the Jets was 3.3 last year so by your logic we could have expected him to gain the same amount of yards we got from McGahee last year if he were to receive the same amount of carries that Willis got which I doubt would happen in a real world scenario. Let's not forget that Addai was able to rush for 67.6 per game in a RB by commitee with Dominic Rhodes but did get the majority of carries in terms of total carries which I assume you're expecting our rookie RB to do? If not then the 2nd best rookie in terms of Rush per game would be Marcus Jones-Drew averaged for 58.8 yards per game who split time with Fred Taylor who averaged 76.4 yards per game with more carries. Yet again I don't see A-train averaging what Taylor did last year so again it might be moot. I will agree that the LG position has been upgraded with the signing of Dockery but question if Walker is an upgrade at RT. Yet for sake of arguement will say the O-line has been upgraded yet the question as to how much a difference Dockery will make. As Clinton Portis averaged 65.4 yards per game but I know someone will argue that he was injured in the preseason so let's instead look at Ladell Betts' average of 72.1 but of course one could argue that's on the low end as he didn't start the full season yadda yadda yadda. The truth is we could argue things at nausium and use stats any many ways to make an arguement I see the combination of our new line, Anthony Thomas and any rookie not named Adrian Peterson likely lesser than our O-line last year, Willis McGahee and Anthony Thomas until proven otherwise.

Bills | Team scheduled to meet with D. Wright
Mon, 26 Mar 2007 10:30:39 -0700
KFFL has learned the Buffalo Bills have scheduled a visit with Fresno State RB Dwayne Wright April 2.
Anyone know anything about him?
He was on my radar as a sleeper pick for day 1 before the combine. As he put up some good numbers his final season when he ran for over 1400 yards and was second on his team with 29 receptions all this after tearing his PCL last season. He also has some nice size at 5-11 and 220#. Though he ran a 4.68 at the combine which tells me he doesn't have the speed to be an every down back in the NFL. NFL draft countdown ranks him as the 11th best RB in the draft but feels he might end up being a FB in the NFL, I'd equate him to Sammy Morris type back. Click here for his NFL Draft countdown profile.

That's not how one should look at it. It's A-Train PLUS a rookie RB.
Why are so many high on Thomas? He averaged 3.5 yards per carry last year and had less then 400 yards last year. I think asking AT to reporduce that or surpass it to maybe 600 yards and to expect a rookie to surpass 750 yards might be realistic but still on the high end especially if take a RB outside of round 1 like most seem to favor.
I'm not entirely comfortable with Youboty starting. But I also wasn't comfortable making Clements the highest-paid CB in NFL history and then seeing him produce seasons like 2005 and the first half of last year.I can understand not why we didn't give Nate the cash but still feel we were foolish giving Langston Walker the deal we did, I mean that money might have been better suited for a veteran CB to replace Nate if needed or maybe split the money between two players. As if had a choice probably take RT like Kenyatta Walker, whose still unsigned and a CB like Roderick Hood who got $15 million over 5 years from the Cardinals. Just my two cents.

I've been a Hunt backer for quite awhile but that 40 puts him on my day 2 list for now. As much as liked him think we better go after Antonio Pittman instead. Brandon Jackson warrants some consideration as well.

I agree needing a #2 WR but outside of Marques Colston, Randy Moss, Torry Holt and Terry Glenn very rarely do WRs make impacts as rookies.
