It depends, who else is on the board? But I'd say hypothetically yes.
-
ha. I think he's better than the other G options. I would play him and incognito at both guard spots.
Yet but with him on a 1 year deal I don't like giving up a pick for him. Sure we could extend him but I don't think he's a great player so would pass on him.

did someone mention this
DRAFT DAY (movie) the Browns get a pick in trade with Buffal
o???
Horrible movie. I'm glad that changed it up at the last minute to make the Browns the centerpiece and not the Bills. They talked about making a trade for a veteran Bills RB and something else as recall.
-
i wonder if they could extend him after the trade and bring down the cap #
Is he significantly better than Incognito? I'm not sure yet I'd say the guy has one good thing about him, as me, him, Matthew Barnaby and Derek Roy all share something in common.

Name one former NFL QB that played for the Raiders. The NFL and AFL did battle for draft picks. Namath was the AFL's biggest win. They pretty much left each other's players alone until the NY Giants signed Pete Gogolak away from the Bills. The gloves were off after that. This one event was the most instrumental in leading to the merger.
Namath was great and belongs in HOF.
From a stats point Namath doesn't deserve to be in the HOF. In terms of him giving the AFL credibility I guess that gives him a little more to look at but as a player on the field he wasn't all that great. I mean he had 3 winning seasons over his 12 year career, barely completed 50% of his passes and his TD to INT ratio was horrible. Granted part of this part of the era he played in but I mean if the Jets lose that Super Bowl does Namath make the HOF? Doubtful.
-
He's making $3.7m and we have about $6.9m that doesn't give us much wiggle room if we want to sign a few guys after May 12. Personally I'd pass as think we need as many young bodies as we can.

I think u can find space eaters later in the draft
Space eaters are great but they also have to be athletic enough to also move down the line and make a tackle when called upon it. Dareus can play NT in a 3-4 as he did when Pettine was here but that limits his pass rushing which is arguably makes him so great as he can do both.
-
IMO, he'd actually be a better compliment to Dareus than Kyle, who doesn't really play the "space eater" role that Rex likes to employ.
We all love Kyle, but he often seems to guess on which gap to attack--which works great when he's right, but opens a big hole when the play goes to the other side.
That's why Kyle's best suited for a 4-3 alignment as he's not one to hold a gap instead he tries to bust it. In other words he plays 3 technique. If Rex is planning on doing a hybrid 3-4/4-3 I'd say trade Kyle for something of value.

Odell's stats were inflated. With cruz injured He was routinely targeted far more than Watkins toward the end of the season and sat what you want but Eli > Orton. I say this as one who hated the trade after last years draft but come around to accepting it because SJ13 & Mike Williams are no longer here. Here's the real question - If Odell Beckham didn't do what he did, would this still even be a discussion?

IF Davis predicted to play a 5 technique or NT I'd think he'd be high on my draftboard for the Bills yet he checks in more as a 3 or 1 tech in the NFL which not best fit for us. I have a feeling based on visits and Whaley's comments we might take a less obvious guy and/or over draft a guy as we've had some success doing it with Kiko and Preston Brown recently.Davis is looking more and more like the pick at 50...

1. We will take a TE in the 2nd or 3rd round, the 2nd if one of the main two guys are there, otherwise the 3rd or possibly 5th.
2. We will take a OL in the second or third round, maybe AJ Cann. It's more likely a OG if it's 2nd round and OT of it's 3rd or later.
3. We won't take a QB until the 6th round or later but probably not at all.
4. We will take an obscure killer LB or edge rusher in the mid rounds.
5. We will trade down for more picks, likely in the 2nd round unless a guy they love, or a day one projected starter is there at 50.
I have no issues with that last bit and agree with a lot of what you said. I'm also a big Cann fan and welcome him at pick 50 but I have a feeling he will go in the top 42 picks of the draft.

i've said since the end of the season that the Bills were in play for RGIII.
I haven't seen them do anything to dissuade that. I think if it doesn't happen, it won't be for a lack of trying.
I just dont think the brass is in the position to give up draft picks next year for him.
I don't believe it will take a 1st to get him. Especially if we include players.
Trading for a veteran QB and signing another one in free agency doesn't deter this thought? It does me as I can't see us giving up anything worth a damn for another QB especially one who's "won" 5 of his last 20 games.

We draft an on OG and C and two defensive lineman yet none of them with our top pick. Here's my mock:
2- Paul Williams DB Florida State. S/CB tweener who could help in at S depth early on and eventually move to CB to replace Gilmore or McKelvin long term. I've seen some scouting reports compare him to Gilmore but the talk about him losing receivers in coverage reminded me of McKelvin. As let's not forget there was some talk we might have pursued Revis and Whaley did mention in the predraft luncheon we need to address CB/S depth and guys drafted in Round 6 or 7 might struggle getting a roster spot.
3- John Miller, OG Louisville. He fits the power G we need and we've had him in for a predraft visit. He makes sense but if I had a choice I would have preferred taking AJ Cann at pick 50 and Clive Watford with this pick.
5- Tyler Kroft, TE, Rutgers. Mixed reports say he can be a good split TE and some say he's a good blocker. I guess that means he has a chance to develop into a complete TE. Whaley mentioned in the predraft luncheon we might go 4 TEs heading into the season which tells me we need a body and think Kroft offers good development value in Round 5.
6a-Andy Gallik, C, Boston College. We lack depth at the position. So he might be able to walk in and get the job no questions asked and has the moxy to fit in well with the power scheme Ryan/Roman want.
6b-= Angelo Blackson, DT, Auburn. A guy who could add depth as a true NT that we don't have on the roster. I guess Dareus starts there in 2015 and Blackson could add to depth and let Charles compete for a starting DE spot.
7- Kristjan Sokoli, DE, Buffalo Homer pick but has the size to me a DE in Rex's 34 and tested better then one would think. Good PR move and who knows might be a PS guy his first few years and eventually will be a good depth guy. -
Start the Bills are going to draft PJ Williams rumors now well I had us taking him before now because he might also be able to play S.
-
Yuck! All I've read about RG III is he can't read defenses and only cares about himself and his persona.
-
Meh. I never understood what the NFL feels it has to parade former players at the draft. Maybe it will draw a few more people to watch it but I'd be watching the pick regardless of who's making the call.
-
No. Absolutely not. I've read right here that EJ is a bust.
I say no moreso Lee never developed X, Y and/or Z. Does anyone know a QB that he has developed?
-
I'd love if the Bills could land #50 at pick 50 aka AJ Cann

Not for nothing but in 1990 we opened against Indy. Now, 25 years after super bowl xxv we do the same thing. just sayin.'
We also opened against Indy in 1999.

This is 32 Mike Rodaks.
Thank God they didn't say we'd go 11-5.
Actually Modrak himself predicted we'd be 9-7.

Didn't Jim Kelly have a late night tv ad about one of these things?

As of right now, the Bills have five linebackers on the team, and only two are credible NFL players: Preston Brown and Nigel Bradham. The others are Jimmy Gaines, Ty Powell, and Randell Johnson. One could argue that Manny Lawson is a linebacker, but he really isn't one at this point in his career and he isn't listed as one in any case. He's a DE. I don't see Spikes coming back either. I suspect the undrafted Gaines is on the team because despite going to Miami, he's a local - from Getzville and a Canisius HS grad. Both Powell and Johnson were seventh round picks (Powell was drafted by Seattle) and presumably fit for the ST squad only.
I could see the Bills going LB with the 50th pick or 81st pick. They have a clear and definite need.
Look at some of the "LBs" on the Jets, Calvin Pace, Quitnton Coples, Jason Babin. All three of them played DE in college. I think Mario and Hughes will be in the mix for LB. I wouldn't be shocked if we draft someone for depth but we might also be more apt to draft a DE prospect like Henry Anderson to play the Branch role in our front 7.

After seeing the face no, but not a bad bod for grandma.

Well- while he is sort of pied piper to his sheeple, he's also a transparent attention seeker who is constantly saturating the headlines like no other 3rd/4th string NFL qb in history. Working on Sunday alone contradicts his religion
I think most free thinkers are just frankly tired of his schtick .. Wishing he'd stop monopolizing the headlines for this sport in this league he barely can play in....
So he's Doug Flutie's love child? If so he must have gotten his mom's height.

Except the dead cap money Williams will count against the books in 2016-17.
