1. People always bash TD and they really don't give him the respect that he deserves.  Just look at a team like the Browns and their recent history with drafting in the first round.  Gerard Warren, Tim Couch, William Green, Kellen Winslow is still a huge ?.

TD has built a stellar foundation for this franchise.  The only thing he is going to have trouble with is trying to keep them all together for their entire career's.  The fans of Buffalo would love to see these guys performing for many years to come.

Fans are upset that the team hasn't made the playoffs in his tenure.  It really isn't his fault.  The players just haven't been producing.

I think so many people fail to understand how that horrid 2000 draft really impacted the Bills. As if look at the first three guys (Flowers, Tillman and Moore) we took that year none of them are contributing on this team right now. Just imagine if just one of them lived up to expectations we'd have either 1)An DE opposite Aaron Schobel that many feel we lack or 2)A starting FS that allow us to keep Vincent at CB and McGee at nickel back or 3)A 3rd down pass rushing LB.

There are a bunch of what IFs that we could play including had Flowers worked out we probably would have never taken Ryan Denney which might have allowed us to draft other players like Melvin Fowler or Josh McCown or Randy McMichael etc.

This is why they say it usually takes three or four years to fully understand if had a good or bad draft.

  2. I really thought that TD may go after him with his ties to Pitt.  Still have Demulling available.

    264268

I think you mean Tom Modrak and his ties to Philly as Mayberry's never played in Steel town. You're right about DeMulling being available as is Cosey Coleman and Keydrick Vincent to name a few Gs. I'd be happy with anyone of them, as feel Gandy be best served as a backup.

  3. Now, with Holcomb and Garcia gone, who is the incumbent qb for the Browns?  Also, what was the name of that guy who started a few games for them a few years ago, who looked like he was going to be good and then fizzled.  I think he was a shorter guy from Georgia or Georgia Tech.

    264076

The incumbent is Luke McCown. Though as BGIM said they could soon be trading for Trent Dilfer but he's expected to be the backup to McCown. I think the player you're thinking is of Eric Zeier (went to Georgia) who was drafted the same year as Todd Collins but's been out of the NFL for quite some time, 4 years last I checked.

  4. How do I save my "favorite bookmarks" with Firefox? I like to save them just in case.

I'm using Windows XP Pro. Thanks for the help and your time!

    263992

I'm guessing "Favorite Bookmarks" is a folder? If so not sure you can save the individual folder but to save all your bookmarks can do the following:

Click Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> File -> Export -> Save as HTML file (need to use pull down in "Save as type" and choose HTML) , name whatever you wish and save it in whatever drive/folder/disc etc that wish to keep the backup copy to.

EDIT: I have version 1.0 of Firefox so not sure if these changed with the newest version or not.

  5. • OG Roberto Garza (Atlanta) -- 4 -- Moved into the starting lineup because of injury in 2004 and became integral part of a unit that helped the Falcons lead the NFL in rushing. A little stiff, but can be a powerful in-line force in stretches.

    • OT Oliver Ross (Pittsburgh) -- 7 -- Has played a lot of positions but settled in at right tackle the past two seasons and, while not a pure road-grader, played well. A decent pass blocker and could also move inside and play guard.

Grab either one of these guys, then go after another O-lineman with our 2nd round pick.  No need to spend big money this year, we have to make sure we have money for Clements, then in 2 years alot of our guys are FA's.  It's going to take Losman a year or 2 anyway so no need to break the bank this year.

    259716

Garza is a smaller finesse type blocker that seems to excel with Denver, not sure how well he'd fit here. I think a bigger reason the Falcons finished first in rushing is three guys named Duckett, Dunn and Vick.

Ross is vastly overated in my eyes.

  6. He was the premiere DE out there.

Finally, the top guy at at least one position has been signed.

    259641

Actually I think Darren Howard's the premier DE. Sounds like John Abraham's going to traded (unless he pulls a Charles Woodson) as they signed Shaun Ellis to a big contract in the season. Unless they want to pay Abraham top 5 DE money and move him to OLB.

  7. 20 divided by 5 is 4 million dollars.

Is this new math that you are doing?

    259616

Actually you're both wrong. 20 divided by 5 is indeed $4 mill but you forgot the signing bonus, so $7 mill divided by 4 is $1.75 mill which when added to $4 mill comes to $5.75 mill.

  8. I don't understand the point of making him a tackle and giving him a tackle number so that he has to declare himself as eligible when he wants to go out.

A TE doens't have to go out for passes.  They can stay in and block whenever they want, so wouldn't it make sense to list him as a TE?

Is there a reason (a benefit of some sort) to listing him as a lineman instead of a TE?

    259622

Listing no? but when I say want him as a backup offensive lineman it's because that's where I want him practicing and see if he has what it takes to be an NFL offensive lineman, if not then he'll likely be nothing more then a 3rd string TE ie nothing really special.

  9. You the bills could:

    - Move TT to Left Tackle

    - Draft Spencer for Center

    - Bring in a LG like Marco Rivera

    - THen you bring in Pollard....who will give Teague the "chip help" on that side if he is having troubles with his guy....

That might be a viable option

    259591

You planning on playing a lot of two TE sets? As typically you want your TE on the right side as when the QB drops back to pass, he is facing the right sideline. As a result of lining up the TE on the right side your QB would have two options on his initial post snap read. If we line up the TE on the leftside it gives Losman less options on that intial read and might cause more time in the pocket which can also increase the chance of him getting sacked.

  10. You're right, they do have #8 overall...but I hear a lot of rumblings this year about potential trade-ups for one of the top 3 RBs by teams needing a starter.

I'm just saying that the Draft is a risky way to go for a starting RB because you dont control what the 31 other teams are doing.  Miami and the Bucs could get their boys, and then another team could trade up and steal the remaining RB away, especially in a draft class that isnt that spectacular in terms of skill players like this one.  So, it just seems to me the safer option is getting Henry for the Cards, thereby freeing them to improve another position with their #1 pick and not screwing them if the RBs are off the board before they get a chance to select.

    259579

I agree with you, just playing devil's advocate.

  11. Maybe.

But the other part that people are missing is that Wheatley is now available, won't cost a player or pick, will be cheap to sign and maybe not as good as Travis, he is in the same 3rd tier as Travis.

    259572

Call me a homer but wouldn't loop Henry with Wheatley. As Wheatley is 32 and only rushed for over 1,000 yards in one season. Not to mention released by two teams.

  12. This actually is a good thing for us.  Now the best FA RB out there is off the market, the Cards have even less options if they want a starter at RB.  They could risk the Draft, but they hold the #9 pick and the top 3 RBs could all be gone by then.

This will make the Cards push harder for Henry now.

    259557

Actually, I think the Cards hold the #8 pick and the only teams drafting ahead of them needing a RB (in my estimation) are the Dolphins at #2 and Bucs at #5.

  13. I like Pollard - he would be a great signing.  The bills really need to do something at TE because you dont know if the recovery from the injuries will be complete.  We know Malarky likes TEs and wants to get them more involved in the O.

I dont think Pollard would break the bank - there should be plety of room for him & addressing the O line. (Im still hoping shelton deal comes through)

    259550

Mularkey likes TEs? ummm have you looked at the reception totals the Steelers TEs had under Mularkey as their OC?

  14. This good be the next LT for Buffalo.

    Rookie LT for next year?

My mistake........ does Chris play RG?

    259517

Barnes has been moving up the draft boards thanks to a strong Senior Bowl and Combine. I suspect he's moved himself into the mid to late part of Round 1 or early part of Round 2 which means he should be off the board by the time we pick.

Villarrial has played the majority of his career at RG. I think he briefly played C and possibly LG.

  15.

It just seems like a deal is more likely to get done since both teams are in need of each other's player.  Any thoughts?  Perhaps I should take off the tin foil hat and get out more?  Or anyone else thinking like I am?

    259506

I agree with your sentiment but feel it's just a matter of how much the Cardinals really like Henry compared to what RBs might be available come draft day.

  16. If we had more salary cap space, sure...as it stands, LT is our first priority before we can even think about getting any other FAs in here.  It all starts with the O-Line, and I see the left side of it in shambles.

IF we can get a LT in here though, then I'd love to see the Bills go after Pollard.

I'm quoting this as agree with it.

  17. The Raiders have a commitment to finding players that are even stupider than their fans.

    259449

and meanwhile the Bills sign smart players like Princeton grad Ross Tucker who's nothing more then a good backup/depth player. I don't care if a player is dumb as a rock, so long he contributes on the field is all I really care about.
