  1. I'm not angry that they finally realized that Walker couldn't play LT I'm angry that they put him there in the first place- and Butler better be at least as good as Walker was last year at RT or you really have to look at what criteria this organization uses to judge who stays and who goes.

Butler's going to look great at RT and when he does we can shift him to LT then we can say let him go. See Jonas Jennings, Jason Peters and Langston Walker.

  2. Or better yet leave an injury prone QB to play behind a shambled O-line and when he fails to produce this year you can let him go. Then you sign a free agent O-lineman, can draft a CB in Round 1 of the draft replace him in about 4 years, draft a QB in Round 3 of the draft and start the rebuilding process over and over again. Perhaps Wilson isn't as dumb as we make him out to be because by never building a winner he never has to pay players big time money to compete with the Jones' (and Krafts' etc) yet still find a way to make money because fans continue to sell out his stadium.

  3. Same brain trust that thought Walker could make the switch from RT to LT this year, made this recent cut of Walker and re-sign of Chambers, as are making the call on Bell. That aught to inspire some confidence.

The biggest I have with said brain trust is the man running the show isn't a football guy but a salary/money guy and thus we've seen many of the decisions made of late, Rhodes and Walker have been about money which seems to be ringing truer and truer each day as we get closer to the season. It also goes to show that perhaps Levy as GM wasn't such a great idea.

  4. Just for fun, I looked at a bunch of plays from the Bears game. Bell was solid, effective on every play. On a td run, he peeled off and took Chicago's LB out of the play...resulting in the touchdown.

Maybe he's healthy, and that's why they made the move.

He's a big guy with a lot of talent. I'd rather see him on the field than Walker, who looked slow most of the time.

By most accounts Langston Walker was viewed as a RT and the position he played his first two seasons here in Buffalo so that's why he looked slow at LT because they are two totally different positions. I hope to the man upstairs that Bell proves to be a good LT but if look at our recent draft history heck even O-line history things don't look so good.

  5. Didn't the Bills draft a couple of OL men this year? I mean feel free to correct me if i'm wrong  ...building an OL doesn't happen overnight or in ONE draft, I'm quite happy with Maybin and he does play on the DL so I think it would seem the Bills are heading in the direction of building the lines

The issue is they took an C and a prospect that by most accounts was expected to be a OG. They failed to address OT in the draft and in free agency. To me if the Bills front office had even the slightest of concerns about Peters and Walker being on this year's roster it would have made sense to bring in a free agent OT, heck Jonas Jennings is still out there and if healthy think he's better then Kirk Chambers and/or Jonathan Scott and a lot more proven at OT then Brad Butler. Or better yet instead of drafting a CB like Cory Harris in Round 6 take a flier on an OT.

  6. I already have Cutler and Hasselback as my other QB's.....not sure how Cassell will play when he comes back

I agree with BuffOrange, no. As Cutler and Hasselbeck are big time question marks, Cutler because of his receiving core and Hasselbeck and injury status but in most cases a veteran like Cassel should outperform a rookie especially because Stafford hasn't guaranteed a starting spot in Detroit.

  7. LT2 was available at #17 and the Packers were the best defense availabe in round 10. There must be some huge dolts in this league - you should have an above average team and I think you do.

LT2 probably one of the few guys worth handcuffing and the 7th wasn't much of a reach to do it. I never seem to own any of your WR's but Housh and even Mason should be $ in ppr. Don't trust Warner this year...I guess Cassel is an ok backup for 12 teams. I'm almost certain you could've done better at TE with Zach Miller or somebody.

    B+

Oakland's Zach Miller was gone, I admit I was late in getting my TE and why got stuck with Shockey.

    K

    Carney

    What do you think???

Carney might not last the season in New Orleans so you might have to work on that other then that not a bad team.

  8. PPR League with 12 teams, I had pick 8. Start 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) 1 K 1 DEF

Below is how my draft went:

    Steve Slanton

    LaDanian Tomlinson

    Dwayne Bowe

    TJ Houshmandzadeh

    Brandon Marshall

    Kurt Warner

    Darren Sproles

    Derrick Mason

    Jamal Lewis

    Green Bay Packers

    Rashard Mendenhall

    Jeremy Shockey

    Matt Cassell

    Vernon Davis

    Correll Buckhalter

    Greg Camarillo

    James Davis

    John Kasay

  9. sorry...meant depth concerns in other areas, not fb/rb.

We don't know how either line is going to do and we've got some young (possibly) talented players who may need that last slot to make the cut.

I disagree I say keep McIntyre and put Hardy on IR, as this point he'd serve as nothing more then a 4th WR or instead of keeping 6 CBs you keep 5. As McIntryre is our only FB and a half way decent special teamer.

  10. So my draft is scheduled to take place the day before the season opener and debating on whom to keep. It's a 12 team Keep Two Players PPR league. We start QB 1 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 K and 1 DEF and 1 FLEX (RB/WR). My only definite keeper is WR Reggie Wayne and the others debating on are Clinton Portis, Ronnie Brown, Braylon Edwards (only because of his youth and could be a long term keeper) or should I trade a draft pick to acquire Steve Slanton. Thoughts?

  11. Which is just huge. It goes to show you that without a good D, you're probably not seeing the playoffs. Guess who had the hardest schedule last season as well and the best Defense Yardage allowed??

I hate to say it but think our D could take a step back this year. As am really worried about the loss of Greer and just wonder if Schobel can return and have big time question marks on Maybin.

  12. Sept. 14 @ New England 7:00 LOSS 0 - 1 Ouch.

    Sept. 20 Tampa Bay 4:05 LOSS 0 - 2

    Sept. 27 New Orleans 4:05 WIN 1 - 2

    Oct. 4 @ Miami 4:05 LOSS 1 - 3

    1 - 3 after four games

Old Ralph is essence has put this franchise on auto-pilot with the 3 year contract given Jauron.

The Front Office will spin tough schedule, or new O-line, or QB injuries, or "2010 is the new make or break year", or

solar flares, or rookies didn't produce, or not enough talent.

    Take your pick.

Last time I checked the Saints have arguably the second best offense of the first four teams we play (behind New England) I think it's more realistic we could beat Tampa or Miami. That said 1-3 is a possibility. In terms of the initial question, I stay stick with Jauron for the entire season as honestly don't think we have a viable replacement on the current coaching staff and can't see us bringing in any former HCs in season unless Ralph chooses to go back to good old Marv.

  13. How about actually considering what Vick was able to do as a starter. To me he was mostly ineffective. His legend and marketing hype exceeded his actual accomplishments.

    PTR

While I hate giving QBs sole credit for their team's W/L you can't deny that his worst season his Falcons amassed a 7-9 record which isn't too shabby.

  14. Moss is the more talented wideout. TO has had a better and more complete career. I get the sense that Moss isn't 100% committed to the game of football, as evidenced by the lax effort he gave while he was a Raider.

I equate Moss to Vince Carter. Could've been the best of his generation, but just didn't have the correct attitude.

So if Moss isn't the best of his generation who is the best of the current generation? To even compare him to Vince Carter is a joke because Carter isn't even thought of in the top 5 at his position where the argument for Moss if he is #1 or #2. I give the nod to Moss.

  15. People always say that, but HBO is struggling for hits right now, with Sex & the City and The Sopranos gone. The have True Blood, Big Love, Entourage and not much else in the comedy/drama area.

FOTC may not draw the biggest numbers, but it has a large cult following...I think it will be around a few more years...Emmy nominations won't hurt. It took "Curb Your Enthusiasm" a while to gain an audience as well.

Count me among the FOTC cult. I tried to get tickets to a concert the guys were performing in Toronto but the damn thing sold out presale. I personally like most HBO shows but will admit Sex & the City and Big Love aren't among my favorites. I can live with Entourage but FOTC's comedy is far superior. Curb Your Enthusiasm is easily the best comedy on HBO right now.

  16. Jemaine Clement is definitely good on the show but I think Rhys Darby (Murray) is more deserving as a Best Supporting Actor. I also disagree with some of the song selections as liked many other songs not nominated better. Either way I just hope the show stays on the air as think it's easily one of the best comedies on tv now but fear it might not have the audience to last.

  17. IMO - T.O. has a good chance of resigning if we have a decent year

I think Steve Johnson may be able to hold down the #2 if he breaks down

James Hardy has the potential - but can he stay healthy and catch the ball in traffic?

    BUT

I really hope we get Vincent Jackson... long shot, I know...

Look at Vincent Jackson's career, last year was his first big season and it came in his 4th NFL season. The truth is most WRs take a good three or more seasons to develop before are top flight talents. That's why I think it's too early to dismiss James Hardy. I'll admit he wasn't my favorite WR in the draft, as preferred we went with Limas Sweed, I still think Hardy has the chance to develop into a pretty good NFL WR. Steve Johnson's a feel good story but there was a reason we took Hardy ahead of him. In time think Hardy's talent will beat out Johnson's heart and we might have something special in both players but only time will tell.
