Huh. I read Cuse and Lindelof say there were going to be no footage preview scenes in the promos, b/c even a second's glimpse would give away what they're doing for S6. Are you sure it wasn't just a compendium of previous seasons' footage? i.e. when Charlie said, "Where are we?" after learning the content of Rousseau's broadcast and that it had been playing for 16 years.
Yes, in looking back it was said scene.

The shake up for this roster is imminent and if a big body WR with some speed is needed then I don't think Hardy is that guy. Looking at the Giants' needs they suffer in the secondary the most and their S Kenny Phillips had microfracture surgery on his left knee and may not be the same player that they drafted. I think that it would be interesting to see if their 2009 3rd rd pick WR Ramses Barden would be available in a trade for some secondary/S help. Whitner for Barden could serve a dual purpose in establishing a new direction for the Bills.
Barden has 1 career reception, he's better then Hardy because....? I know most tend to over value our players but to say trade Whitner for this guy, are you mad?

I saw a preview with Charlie in it and pretty sure he was with Kate and he asked "where are we?" a few days ago and was looking at my calender wishing it was February 2nd. I'm in the belief that they did change things and the plane never crashed and this season will focus on the LOSTaways lives had the crash never happened of course that preview might dismiss everything because if the crash didn't happen then Kate should be in prison and likely would have never met Charlie either way I can't wait.

do you really think there is a Kelly or Wolford even in this draft? i dont.
Okung might be as good as Wolford or maybe better. That said he's probably gone by pick 9 so that's a pipe dream. Anthonty Davis and Bryan Bulaga are also well tought of and if available considered above average prospects who I'd welcome compared to what we have currently at LT. Yet as R. Rich writes might not be worth taking in the top 10 so it might be smart to actually trade down acquire some more picks and take the LT we need and then perhaps use a 2nd or 3rd we get for moving down to work on other needs like DT or LB and/or QB. As I've stated numerous times that the draft getting the best collection of players.

A more objective analysis would be to limit yourself to the 5 players after they picked in round that round. Its easy to cherry pick the best from each round. You have to think of who they needed at the time or a similar player (Whitner vs Ngata or Maybin vs Orakpo) to gauge how they did. Remember that Kelly was our 2ND first round pick when we picked him.
In the end it all comes down to the results on the field which is the most objective measure of how they did.
As you asked for, granted I didn't take the time to really study our needs then as that take a long time but here's a list of guys at the same position (with the exception of 2006 when reversed DT/S) that could have taken instead of who we did who've shown to be better players. The sad part is almost all of them were drafted in the same rounds as the guys we took but a few picks later.
WE TOOK WE PASSED ON
2002 1 MIKE WILLIAMS T BRYANT MCKINNIE T
2 JOSH REED WR ANTONIO BRYANT WR
2003 1 WILLIS MCGAHEE RB LARRY JOHNSON RB (not really a need but a better RB selected in same round)
2 CHRIS KELSAY DE OSI UMENYIORA DE
2004 1 LEE EVANS WR NO WR BETTER
2 JP LOSMAN QB MATT SCHAUB QB* (Taken in Round 3)
2005 2 ROSCOE PARRISH WR VINCENT JACKSON WR
2006 1 DONTE WHITNER S HALOTI NGATA/BRODRICK BUNKLEY DT
1 JOHN MCCARGO DT ROMAN HARPER S (Taken on Round 2)
2007 1 MARSHAWN LYNCH RB NO RB BETTER
2 PAULPOSLUSZNY LB DAVID HARRIS LB (Taken in Round 2)
2008 1 LEODIS MCKELVIN CB DOMINIQUE-RODGERS CROMARTIE CB

2009 1 AARON MAYBIN DE BRIAN ORAKPO DE

Ha high motor undersized white dudes.
BUt what defense has studs up the middle and sucks?? regardless of the scheme?
But but but Kyle Williams made the Pro Bowl [/sarcasm].
-
Levy's gone on record to say this guy was his toughest/worst cut, S Brian Jordan, he was also an average OF.

I see alot of discussion about a 3 - 4 defense and started looking at how many players would be needed to make such a switch. I do not see Williams or Stroud being NT but could they play DE in the 3 - 4? If Shoebel stays is he a Bryce Paup type of OLB?? Could Kelsey, Maybin play OLB or to do a 3 - 4 do we need an entire set of new LBs? I see our biggest weakness to running a 3 - 4 is that the LB core doesn't seem to fit and we would have to address NT. Maybe with the right beef up front Poz could play one of the Middle backers.
So to move to a 3 - 4 we need a NT, 2 - 3 LB's thats alot to ask for along with trying to find players to fill the holes at OT.
Let me start this off by saying that Bryce Paup was an OLB before coming to Buffalo. So to compare him and Schobel isn't the right thing to do. If you want to know what it's like for a former 4-3 DE transitioning to OLB in the 3-4 look at Green Bay this year where Aaron Kampman made that transition. He struggled most of this season only picking up 3.5 sacks in 9 games. To ask Schobel, Kelsay or Maybin to make the transition is asking a lot that's why I feel it's foolish that we need to switch the defense.
To me the problems the Bills have on Defense are 1)Our offense is too inept and causing them to ware down late in games. 2)We lack someone in the middle who can penetrate the backfield. Guys like Warren Sapp and Tommie Harris are what made Bucs and Bears Tampa cover 2 top of the line defenses where right now I think the Bills are in the middle of the pack. 3) I feel we're weak at CB when look at Terrence McGee and Leodis McKelvin yet they might prove better if find #2. As it seemed obvious to me this season that Drayton Florence was our best CB.
That said if can somehow muster an average offense our defense will prove that it hasn't been bad as it seemed this year and if can find someone at DT then things could be much improved next year however if we bring a new HC and new scheme next year it might cause the defense to take a few steps back which hurts. Last but not least we need to convince Schobel to not retire. IF we lose him then we're in BIG trouble.

marc ross
Ross has done some great things for the Giants after leaving us. Yet I can't see him coming back.
-
Well I went with Jennings at Flex as all the reports had him starting. Yet he was the worst option I could have chose yet had I gone with Burleson, Collie or Bowe I still would have lost. Of course had I played Harrison well that's another
story.
-
Why would we do that? The Bills will have a new HC next year & hopefully a QB that can get the ball downfield to Evans.
Because as much respect I have for Lee, the truth is he's not a great WR and feel we're overpaying him.
-
So much for starting Garcon.......
Ouch! I won't say it but think you know what I'm thinking...
-
That was a joke.
Leave that to me then.

Very Tough choice. I'm voting for the tv movie Death of a Salesman only because I loved the play. Yet his best performance might have been Rain Man.
-
HA! You guys are hilarious.
-
I'll go with 'The Frisco Kid.'
Poll added so feel free to vote and now state your case why.

So as eluded in the subtitle I was inspired by the other thread as to what you feel the best Gene Wilder movie ever was? I'm guessing Blazing Saddles will take the crown but perhaps not. As I'll admit I'm really torn between in picking one. As Willy's a sentimental favorite and think his performance was great despite reports that the author of the book hated it. I'll also admit I'm in my 30s so the Woman in Red was the first movie that made me discover Wilder but also liked him in pretty much every title I listed but if you feel he was better in something I missed feel free to state your case here.
-
I agree that in the end the vote came down to Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. I chose Young Frankenstein in the end because felt as a movie it was better and feel because of social views changing nowadays some of Blazing Saddles humor is lost whereas YF's humor will last longer. Yet the humor in Blazing Saddles might have been better. As mentioned the ending of Blazing Saddles was horrible. Also the camp fire joke while funny was a bit, pun intended, long winded.
-
Clay Matthews Jr might also warrant some votes because the Packers D has been pretty good this year and he's been one of their best players outside of Charles Woodson, who could take away the Defensive MVP trophy this year.
-
Al Davis loves the long ball, maybe we can trade the Raiders Lee Evans in the offseason and get TE Zach Miller and a draft pick in return.
-
EDIT: Also worth noting that I'm in a PPR, so you guys convinced me that I should start LT and Mendenhall at RB. Now I still need help at my FLEX Position. I can chose between Jennings (or Harrison), Dwayne Bowe, Austin Collie or TJ Housh.

Using Maybin as an example to say "the Bills don't use their picks well" is insane considering in the same draft we got Wood, Levitre, Byrd, and Nelson.
The point is by most accounts Maybin ranked below Orakapo yet the Bills elected to take the first. It reminds me of to the days of Erik Flowers. Where a prospect shoots up the draft charts because of a great post season workout. In terms of the 2010 draft I'm hoping somehow we end up in the top 6 and Okung falls to us as to me get the O-line fixed then go after a QB.
-
I agree that Warner looks like the better lay then Rivers at this point. Of course I'm partial to Warner as I have him in my league too. In terms of your WR/TE dilemma. Revis has done a great job at locking up WRs this year and with Roddy White on the mend it might be the time to bench him. Yet to me the alternative wouldn't be Gaurcon it would be TO. As Gaurcon has to compete for balls in Indy with Ausitn Collie and Reggie Wayne. Whereas TO is clearly Fitzpatrick's go to guy and he's been hot of late with TDs in 3 of his last 4 games and the NE secondary struggling of late.

I can't pick anyone up. As we have an auction based waiver system and I blew the rest of my auction money on Harrison as I lost Steve Slaton and needed a replacement and overbid on Harrison after he had his big showing against San Diego. Though I was fortunate the week before to snag Jennings.
Before getting a QB

As did Brian Billick (16–18–0 when he served under Dennis Green at Stanford's assistant head coach and
tight ends coach). If looking at QBs with winning records how about Dan LeFevour, 36-15?
